Stopped by Waldameer for a couple hours on Friday. Forgot how much fun Ravine Flyer II was.

I shouldn't badmouth my hometown, but there are so many restaurants here that our version of Melt seems very average. I still go sometimes, but I'd rather drive to Lakewood. Also, Waldameer seemed almost empty today.

That webcam captures of dragster construction "relief" ended up in places I never would have thought to share it. I think it's even showed up on CollegeHumor within a couple days after I first shared it.

There is still plenty of time to announce new rides. While I don't see another 40 new rides, I think we could easily see up to 10 more new rides.

The confusion is from this: The announcement will be after... ... the ride closes, which is September 16 Or ... on September 16, after the ride closes. Depends on which part of the statement you attach the date to; the closing or the announcement.

I spoke to Spehn on closing day about the downsizing of the park. I never expected it to be cut down to almost nothing.

Last I heard, your souvenir cup was going to be stolen after you "secured" it behind a shrub near the entrance to a ride. You should definitely call the park to complain.

Combining gates was brilliant from a marketing perspective, but it made little sense in an area that generally catered to those who could not afford the trip to Cedar Point. It's almost as if SF saw the 1 million GL attendance and 2 million SWO attendance and assumed they could generate 3 million unique guests from it. They peaked at 2.3 million, even with the "we're better than CP" ads airing on every Cleveland station all summer.

I was (and still am) bitter because I grew up going there. I have friends that worked there. Some of those friends lost their jobs after what they described as "the busiest summer since Six Flags." Nothing about that property was handled well after Sea World left.
