  1. Have they gone back to this for HITP? They had stopped it and only ran an hourly sanitation cycle at some point during the summer. On other matters assuming my assumption is correct I'd imagine the calculus of opening a park even for a couple weeks that hasn't been open since April (Discovery Kingdom) is a bit different than adding ~8-10 days with only a drive through to a park that's been open since June. For one of those parks ANY revenue is a positive move, for the other it's a lot of hassle for only a little possible gain - and the park is literally less than a mile from the best drive through in the area. For it to make sense such a call would have been better made in November.
  2. Well there's only been a couple of subjects touched on recently. Vehicular in nature perhaps?
  3. That would be my guess for a Six Flags. The local vaccination levels will determine the occupancy levels allowed. I'd expect masks to be required in 2021 for the whole chain either way.
  4. I wouldn't expect something like Six Flags to check for vaccination. Now Disney? Maybe. Cruise ships? Definitely.
  5. Having some rides open in January-February at SFStL would require a refurbishment schedule like many year-round parks have. That isn't something the park did in 2020. Justice League could probably run given its open date but nothing else has been given its 'offseason' work. But I do agree I'm not sure I'd attend with zero rides.
  6. There's always Mardis Gras in February...
  7. Great America is joining 3 other parks in turning Holiday in the Park into a drive-thru.
  8. Great America has added drive-thru now as well. Apparently this is actually working elsewhere.
  9. I saw a picture of a Six Flags pickup by one of the side gates and it looked like the truck could drive through it. But you probably know better. I didn't know trucks couldn't get under Pandemonium. Without the Pandemonium route I didn't see a way to make a loop that included Britannia and I see you didn't include it either. I considered the Hurricane Harbor gate but there just haven't been any lights until Empire that way so it seemed a slow way to start. Obviously all moot though since nothing's been done beyond Fiesta Texas.
  10. I'm kinda surprised the Holiday in the Park drive-thrus ended up being done at just two parks. I thought after Great Adventure announced it, even though the park is also open for rides on weekends, that it was going to end up being as chain-wide as they could make it. I even tried to figure up how they could route it here at the time GAdv announced it.
  11. Note on the Boomerang and Superman removal proposal: I think you're implying that's a good spot for a larger scale steel coaster - but a hyper (for example) would be able to slot mostly in behind Mine Train along the railroad tracks already, or up and then behind Eagle. And that's a bigger project than a lot of mid-tier park steel projects Six Flags is doing right now. Farewell Josh. He treated everyone he met like a friend, TPR and everyone he met lost a friend today.
  12. Xcalibur not a HITP ride this year?
  13. Josh is one of the reasons I came to TPR. Get well and godspeed.
  14. Eagle is an ACE landmark. They better not touch it.
  15. According to today's announcement email this will be the last weekend to ride Eagle this season.
  16. Figured out what how the light show and stage shows at Palace are being handled. The stage is still up and rehearsals were going on today. The 5 trees are in the middle of the middle pathway surrounded by the wrapped trees. It might be a little cramped if crowd sizes for either show get big at all this way. And we know at times they have gotten big. Pretty sunset behind Boss because I feel like posting it.
  17. Honestly if money is going to be spent on Colossus lighting something like this would probably be better bang for your buck.
  18. I was only at the park this Sunday and last Sunday. This Sunday was rain-limited and not representative (everything was a walk-on). But last Sunday was all booked up just like Saturday - lines moved pretty well. Batman and Freeze were the longer ones. Freeze is running two trains, but since each cycle only loads up to 10 people right now they've still got the low capacity sign out front. Justice League seems to be having a really rough time right now. I was on it during a shut down and actually got the lights-on escorted walk out of the attraction. And I hear it wasn't the only shutdown.
  19. In the past it has been The Boss and Screamin' Eagle. The Boss is automatic because it's just unlikely to be warm enough to run it. I'd love to see Eagle open somehow though.
  20. My big question is how SFStL will do Christmas (yes you can say Christmas - there's no War on Christmas ™) shows. It looks like they're setting up for The Palace light show, and that's where they've been doing all entertainment this year. Maybe Old Glory will see its first butts in a year and a half?
  21. Oh missed a little tidbit that really doesn't matter since we already know they're doing HITP. But the setup for that is underway. Meaningless, but I like seeing it anyway
  22. Visited Hallowfest 10/11. The third reservation 'sell out'. Most of the lines were very reasonable - Eagle is back to two train ops. But Mr Freeze had the limited capacity sign out - and indeed seemed to be one running one train. Disappointing - two switchbacks were in use so that wait had to have been hell. The new LED lighting in the entry plaza and in the DC Comics area has color overlays installed. The park is continuing to pour new concrete around the entrance. This in front of the Flash Pass stand (the old path was in really bad shape right here). The scare actors are in the zones all day. They're all set up like this to be a bit more like a set rather than a place for them to hide and jump out as you walk through. Bone Jovi The troll area is a family-friendly walkthrough now. They slide a treat down a tube for kids at the end. The spider web area has been moved to the two tunnels since Blind Fury isn't there. Really like this. This is what they've done with the area where spiders used to be. Oh Yeah. Justice League is open. The queue feeds in through the emergency exit at the end of the long corridor right now. Even with fewer scare zones set up there's a good amount of fog being thrown throughout the park. Just a bit less than usual back by Boss and the Illinois section. The Scareacha wings are included on the meal pass - no upcharge. Spicier than I expected too. And if you want the skull mug the non-alcoholic grape drink is the only way to get it - though for families that want it this is probably better than making an alcoholic beverage the only way to get it. It'd probably just be better to make it an upcharge for any beverage though,.
  23. Yeah you can see why it's the kind of thing Six Flags doesn't do often. A ton of labor involved. Makes you appreciate places that do it way more often. Then again it wouldn't be near as intensive if you did it before they fall apart.
  24. That only makes sense if your getting income from being open.
