  1. Keep in mind IIRC they didn't operate both the Hayride and Blackout in 2019. Staffing wasn't great even then. Hopefully the increased starting pay is working. Six Flags hasn't moved to a 5 day operating week at this point like Cedar Fair so I guess that's a good sign.
  2. The park is indicating Fright Fest is returning.
  3. Ninja, American Thunder and Mr Freeze were all one-train ops yesterday. Which shockingly didn't make American Thunder's line super horrible (although it would have been a stair wait otherwise). But Mr Freeze is abysmal with one train pretty much all of the time. It was pretty disappointing though, because Sunday is still a weekend day.
  4. We're definitely playing the KC role in that fight with Chicago. The smaller jealous one.
  5. Not sure which thing is being referred to. But the KC/STL feud thing plays out with other states. And the turkey leg incident could have played out in any US park - Kings Island literally had to shut down under similar circumstances a week earlier. We do a lot wrong, but the last couple things discussed aren't things we're all alone in
  6. They're just mad they have the worst invert B&M ever made.
  7. Yeah if they're doing a track conversion they'll be changing the layout. One of the early peaks could easily be lowered and turned into an inversion. And there could probably be a stall under the lift hill.
  8. I don't think continuous motion is going away. It's become pretty standard for large wheels and is more efficient. They also spent a ton of money making the wheel capable of doing it.
  9. I had looked at this before. It appears to still be in the top 5 tallest theme park wheels worldwide.
  10. So guess we can all guess which era ended uniform services now.
  11. Six Flags has revealed another 50th celebration item. Some of us never really saw these. But intriguing. Wonder if ride-specific uniforms are included here?
  12. Yeah if you consult my photos a few pages back the slides are the same, the rest of the structure was torn down. The important bits will be new. I guess we get a ride in 2021 after all
  13. I wouldn't expect an Intamin Mega to come here. For whatever reason they just aren't going to North American parks. Cedar Fair and Six Flags both have seemed to sour on Intamin. They do look good though. The last two Universal coasters are notable not just because of how good they are, but also because they're two of the only recent Intamins in the country (besides Pantheon).
  14. I mean I know you aren't looking for the argument, but the second link kinda gets to the heart of it. Crime tends to go up the poorer an area is. It isn't a coincidence the least safe zip codes are also the poorest zip codes. Which of course creates a feedback loop (why would a business take the risk of opening in a higher crime area?).
  15. If RGB lighting has been purchased it isn't that much money these days to make them addressable. A little $4 board can run a 300-600 LED light show - pair them together to get more lights. The trees they use for the Palace HITP show can be run on $35 Raspberry Pi computers (which they're already using for the POS systems).
  16. Well they're probably programmable so they can theme it. Power Hours fits that look.
  17. Parts of the old security checkpoint are still standing. But the actual working bit is all-new. There are just two new scanners than you walk through without removing anything from your pockets.
  18. I think that was speculation on the forum because of the hint that said they couldn't wait to see it at night. So we expected lighting to be involved.
  19. The park has tweeted out their new sign. I expected a place for updates but this is definitely clean.
  20. You know I never considered the prospect that some of those early attractions would be possible to bring back in some capacity during the 50th anniversary celebration.
  21. Employee insight within what they're allowed to share is always great and appreciated My speculation isn't necessarily making requests either. The only time I've ever made a request, even jokingly, was when a park manager took my order at Fowl Ball and when they asked what I wanted I said "a hyper would be nice". I really do genuinely wonder if such an upgrade supported by the manufacturer is remotely viable. I'm not using the word possible here because anything is possible even if it might require new rolling stock. But if it costs $5 million that wouldn't be viable, even for relocations of a LIM coaster (where you'd have to reinstall everything all over again so labor cost wouldn't really impact an upgrade). I think I'd be fine with Titan Track in high wear areas of Eagle to keep her young longer. Though I'm not aware of any particularly high-wear locations. Reviews suggest Titan Track doesn't feel significantly different the way RMC track does.
  22. I mean let's be real. It's pointless for us too
