  1. Same thing happened to me! I had to hold my shirt down on the hills because of the airtime.
  2. I only do front seat because a lot of experiences with the back seat ended up being very rough, sometimes even painful (Skyrush, Dominator, Volcano, etc. all rattle like crazy). Besides, who wants to see a bunch of screaming/crying people in front of you with no view when you can see everything up front? I do see the benefits of a back seat ride, however. Riding Skyrush in the back proved that for me!
  3. Same! I wish it opened tomorrow! Lol
  4. YESSSSS OMG IM SO EXCITED! JUMPING UP AND DOWN IN JOY LIKE A LITTLE KID! PASSED BY A UNANIMOUS VOTE! LETS DO THIS!!!
  5. Thinking the same thing. I have a feeling that this is going to better than I thought it would, which is great!
  6. Just thought that i'd post this here... https://www.instagram.com/p/-ZK37AM71h/
  7. I agree with this. I compare the smoothness of Anaconda to Tennessee Tornado. Of course, Anaconda has "the spot" where headbanging happens all the time which makes people look down upon it, but I agree, it's inversions are great and it's really smooth. Now I feel like the roller coaster hippie of Kings Dominion... except for Hurler, you can burn to the ground no tears shed.
  8. It looks really nice so far! Good work! I could never have the patience to to anything compared to this. Keep it up, I can't wait to see it finished.
  9. My home park is sadly Six Flags America. It's a tough choice between Jokers Jinx and Superman: ROS for me.
  10. I'm gonna have to disagree with this. Every ride I had on Shockwave beat the living crap out of me. In fact one of my last rides on it a few years ago left a decent sized bruise on my hip. That being said, seeing this ride getting torn down doesn't bother me one bit. You didn't understand what I said. I get that it beat many people up, but that's not I meant by how smooth it is. You know those old Arrows where you can feel the car bouncing and jumping around instead of smoothly following the rails? Well, let me be the first to tell you, TOGO did something RIGHT with Shockwave. It's not the only coaster there that is super smooth either. Both Ricochet and Dominator's first drop feel like you're just flying through air and I barely notice that the car is fixed onto rails. Call me crazy, but I feel that King's Dominion (along with Dollywood) has one of the "smoothest" coaster collection I've experienced, including Shockwave. My main point: Shockwave beat the living hell out of people because of the RESTRAINTS (mainly larger people, i'm a short guy), but the trains rode the rails much better than several other coasters that are even several years newer than it. Regardess Shockwave still sucked... Regardless, not everyone thought it sucked...
  11. It looks too underbanked. BOO RMC YOU CAN'T DO NOTHING RIGHT! I wanted back to back 720 degree corkscrew helix looped dive turns followed by landing in a pit of snakes! Kidding of course, if you couldn't tell. Nice work RMC. I have a friend that really hates RMC just because "topper track coasters aren't woodies." I think i'll need to throw him on this when it's finished and convince him that MAYBE RMC is an AT LEAST decent company.
  12. I agree with everything you just said. About the replacement, I would rather have Shockwave be replaced with a giant frisbee than anything else, so I am happy about that at least.
  13. I can't disagree more. One part TOGO really messed up on was the trackwork. Have you seen the banking on Shockwave at all? That's the reason there's headbanging. Inertia keeps you going in one direction, but the horrible banking forces you to slam into the restraint, pretty much like every Arrow looper that's not Tennessee Tornado. Im talking smoothness in terms of not having a rattle like older Intamins/Arrows/B&M's have, like it's neighbors Volcano and Dominator, not about how bad you smash into the restraints (which thankfully I never did, which is why I liked it so much.)
  14. I'm gonna have to disagree with this. Every ride I had on Shockwave beat the living crap out of me. In fact one of my last rides on it a few years ago left a decent sized bruise on my hip. 15. That is pretty much EXACTLY how I see it. I can see how other people don't enjoy it, but to me it was just great. Not good enough to be one of my favorite coasters, but still great. I get the headbanging issues, but was anyone else surprised by just how smooth the trains traveled the rails? That's probably one thing that surprised me the most. The anti rollback also is one of the coolest ones I've ever heard. Much better than Grizzly painfully loud ones, anyway.
  16. Seeing that happen brought tears to my eyes. Shockwave had a very special place in my heart, and I am extremely saddened that this had to happen. Rest in pieces, buddy.
  17. I'm on board with all three of these picks, especially Roar and Wildcat. Roar would seem like a no brainer for Six Flags since its twin is already getting the RMC treatment. You would think SF would be able to save a bunch of money by using The Joker's design for SFA's Roar. Wildcat seems unnecessary at Hershey since they have 2 other great woodies in Comet (classic out & back) and Lightning Racer (racing coaster). Wildcat is just rough and not very fun, so it's a prime RMC candidate to me. I beg to differ about Wildcat. I rode it once, was expecting the worst ride of my life. I was extremely shocked with how it turned out. I even found it to be (yes, you WILL read this correctly) SMOOTHER than Lightning Racers. Experience wise, there are more thrilling elements on Lightning Racer, so I would choose that over Wildcat ANY DAY. If you think Wildcat is rough (which yes, I agree, it could use some retracking), I am going to just assume that you haven't ridden Kings Dominion's Hurler yet. That gets my pick for what should get RMC'd next. I'm surprised I haven't seen that on here often, because THAT is an absolutely BRUTAL ride with tons of potential.
  18. I'm a heartline roll fan. Anyone who has ridden Stormrunner can agree that it's pretty convincing.
  19. Shockwave has been taken off sale. Rest in peace, buddy.
  20. Went to Hersheypark yesterday and had a blast. Let me just say, this is an absolutely spectacular recreation of Hersheypark. I love it!
  21. Hello Hersheypark thread! I'm usually a Kings Dominion guy, but this Saturday I will be traveling to Hersheypark for the first time in a long while. Any ideas on what the crowds will be like? I have never been there this late in the year, and i've never been on a Saturday. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  22. How is the lift entry painful? It is probably one of the smoothest rides I have ever been on. Because for every coaster in the world there's an enthusiast ready to complain about how rough it is. Chill out ladies. Just because you found it perfectly fine doesn't mean everyone does. Take my profile picture for example.
  23. I don't think anyone else has mentioned it, but I think Firechaser Express at Dollywood is a very good family coaster. The theme and the scenery around it really makes it a very unique and enjoyable experience. If only the lift hill entry wasn't painful...
  24. +1. I was kind of let down for some reason. It was almost too much to ride over and over again. Great experience and coaster for the bucket list, though. Yeah. I like this ride a lot, and it's in my top 10, but it's a "I have to be in the mood" kind of coaster. I'll never say "oh I don't know right now" about MF, Maverick, Alpengeist, Fury 325,etc. (unless they have an ungodly long line), but i305 and TTD are two I could pass on if the rest of the group wasn't strongly interested in riding. I have the credits, I enjoy them as rides, I enjoy the intensity, but it's not as much of a "OMG I HAVE TO" kind of coaster the way I feel about certain other coasters out there. Ready for my extremely unpopular opinion? If Anaconda is less than 5 minutes wait, and i305 is a 45 minute + wait, I'll go ride Anaconda a few times and hope the i305 line dies down later in the day. I usually do the same thing with Anaconda. Me and my brother called it "The Backup Plan" in case any of the rides we were waiting for were excessively crowded (*cough* Volcano) or if the ride was broken down. Back on topic... Intamin: I know people will hate me for this but Volcano was a huge let down for me. The launches were great, the inversions were great, but it was the opposite of a smooth ride and it was really unfortunate that it was so short. Absolutely below my expectations. B&M: I loved every single B&M I have ridden, but here's a special case. We need to have Dominator's first half and second half listed as different roller coasters. The first half was absolutely great, but right after you fly over the MCBR, you think you are riding an old school GCI. Speaking of which... GCI: Hershey's Wildcat. Enough said.
