I'm sure he knew what you meant, he was just picking So Darkride or more flats or coaster? -
Why sell it? Now if they ever want to expand they will have to rebuy land. Short term gain, long term loss. There will be no rebuying that land. It is being used for a housing development. Why keep land that isnt being used or will not likely be used when you can sell it for cash for other projects. The park is not going to be in any danger of running out of land anytime soon they still have plenty left over. Great now they'll have to deal with "NIMBY" idiots

FWIW, all of the parks are having that branding survey done so it means little to nothing - more of just the company getting a reading on where the parks are so they can properly adjust long term plans for each park -

Yeah I don't feel like WOF is next on the Darkride list either. It's either going to be the two flat rides plus a coaster OR a few more flat rides (2-3). I won't complain about either. -

VF reminds me a lot of SFSTL. Both parks appear to be happy with their role as a "locals hangout" - adding just enough to stay semi-relevant in the minds of those nearby, but never really going out of their ways to enlarge their attendance drawing pool. VF also suffers from having no real competition in the area. Sure NU, but NU has a different clientele than VF - as does COMO Town. As mentioned already, WOF is now in a battle with other area parks and is trying to reinvent itself with festivals and placemaking themed additions. Some of the additions remind me a lot of KBF's Ghost Town -

I'd imagine until they have all the current rides open for the season we won't see much movement on the two Huss rides. Boomerang and Zulu were still closed last weekend. They still haven't added the topper to the kiteflyer. They're still in the process of tearing out Thunderhawk. -

There's a good case for WOF to receive some love for awhile. Adventureland has been pretty steady with large cap expenditures here lately. SDC is rumored to be getting two large new coasters in the near future. I'm sure that could cut into attendance -

Considering that the two flats were paid for with this year's budget, I'd imagine it would be a little more substantial than just a disko coaster. It could be part of it though. But I imagine there's more to it -

There's a possibility that one or even both rides (Troika and Condor) could be added this season. If there wasn't a teaser campaign I would have bet just the two rides and the new front gate. The new front gate has been designed for awhile. It is slated to dump people into the park next to Tivoli Music Hall which would get a new facade. -

If you are talking about WOF - no, there were only those two markers there by the old Sky High terminal. There was a little more activity around Thunderhawk as they continue to remove the remnants of that ride. The buildings in Bicentennial Square continue to be boarded up to whatever the new use will be -- I am wondering if the arcade won't be moved there eventually and our Triotech Darkride will go where the current Joe Cool Arcade is (as that building needs some major work and it would be cheaper to just tear it down and build something new there. -

You ARE aware that when Wonder Mountain's Guardian was built, CW already had a Sally Shooter Darkride, Correct? So we have one example and now it's a norm. Noted. ------- So back to WOF. Do we have any guesses as to what's going on in BiCentennial Square -
You must be thinking of Goliath. I have never seen a wait of at least 2 hours, ever. The absolute worst I've ever seen was an hour and a half, and that was Saturday of opening weekend 2013. Almost always it's 15 to 20 minutes, even on Saturdays in the summer. I've been to the park several times when we ended up waiting 2-1/2 to 3 hours for Outlaw Run. Why? I've been to the park countless times on busy days and if you go there in the morning or near closing the line is non existent

Doesn't really effect anything, really. There are plenty of parks with more than one dark ride. Really? There are plenty of parks with multiple target shooting rides? Do tell. -

Having ridden all of the B&M inverters in states I highly disagree but you're entitled to your opinion. I personally feel that you cannot go wrong with the reliability of B&M - not to mention the PPH. A coaster in the $15M range gives you SheiKra, Hydra, Talon, a Patriot, among others. You can get a decent sized B&M and they are always crowd pleasers. Part of me wants a dive coaster because it would beat SDC at its own game. -

Of course I'd never say no to another B&M in the park. How much was Hydra? -

A nice compact floorless or wing coaster could fit there OR a nice twister GCI. -

What makes this early season teaser different then KI's early season teaser? The difference would be that this would be 3 coaster projects in one year, something we haven't seen of late from CF. KI has begun tree clearing and has survey markers across a very large area. KI's project is a coaster and from all appearances a large one. Hurler, in house or not, is still a coaster project. As I said before I hope it is a coaster (and I agree that early teasing is usually a sign of a bigger investment) but it would be a deviation from the capital investment strategy we've seen the past few years. 2013 saw Gatekeeper, a $30 million investment, Gold Striker, probably a $10 million investment, and Coast Rider at Knott's, and not to mention GCI refurbishments on Shivering Timber, Timber Wolf, and Hurler at Carowinds. There's no reason why 2017 can't have three coaster projects if they average around $15-20 million each. Cedar Fair generally spends well over $100 in expenditures per year throughout their parks, and there's nothing to say that on certain years the bulk of that will be spent on water parks, or coasters, or family attractions, or thrill rides, or in any combination. Maybe 2017 will focus on coasters. Hell, if they wanted to, Cedar Fair can open 11 new coasters in 2017 (1 for each park), each about $10 million, and still be at budget. Not to mention if they buy that many in one year, they would probably get a bulk discount -

Again, several $8-10M coasters in one season won't break the bank.
