  1. ^Strange to me that you feel like it was very crowded. I thought the rides at least all had very minimal waits, and we got in 12 total rides, on every major coaster except for Vortex and Racer. Some of the Haunts had longer lines, but we never waited very long on anything... Maybe we just hit everything at the right time!
  2. The Redditor mentioned that he was at the announcement for it, and they pointed to that general area when discussing location. FWIW... Honestly, that makes sense to me, as a location for the coaster, assuming that the entry and station is down next to Skychaser. It would then wrap between the road there, and the water slides pretty well. Length-wise, I'm not sure it'd fit in the other location, and they may have also been concerned about noise, given the close proximity of businesses over there. Perhaps we'll see a smaller, less-noisy addition over there at some point.
  3. DILinator should be able to speak more for this, because he rode all the rides and I didn't. Nothing I rode was more than 20-30 minutes and the smaller coasters were walk-ons. The app said Timbers and Diamondback got 45+ but I never went and confirmed. We were able to ride Diamondback 3 times, Mystic Timbers 2 times, and then Banshee, The Beast, Flight of Fear, Firehawk, The Bat, Backlot Stunt Coaster, and Adventure Express all once! Longest wait was Firehawk (shocker), two separate times (it went down the first time we went there), at around 30 minutes. Never personally waited longer than 15 minutes for Diamondback, both early on, and later once night fell. So if it drew those times the app said, I didn't experience that. I had the shortest wait I'd ever had for Mystic Timbers right after it opened for the night (it was delayed opening for some reason) at around 10 minutes, if that. Second wait at night was maybe 20 minutes. Banshee was around 15 minutes, FoF about 20 or so minutes, and The Beast, last ride of the night, was almost a walk on, shockingly! Maybe waited 5 minutes on that. The Bat was around 5-10 minutes, and BSC and Adventure Express were walk-ons. So, as you have probably deduced from that write-up, lines were very minimal for coasters all night, and it was probably the shortest waits, and the most coasters I've ridden, in four years of doing KI Haunt now! Definitely my favorite trip there, though being with my kids was probably the biggest reason for that! I understand that KI Haunt lines, as they do at most parks, get longer the closer to Halloween you get, so understand that if you're trying to accurately gauge lines. This was the second earliest I've gone in the season, I believe, and the lowest lines, so take that for what you will. Obviously, personal experience may vary. I simply love going to KI for Haunt, and can't recommend checking it out enough! Just consider possibly going on a Saturday, if you want to ride a lot of coasters, and do a lot of Haunts, because with the lines that the Haunts were drawing, even the other night, this early in the season, you're not going to get to do a lot of both on a Friday night! And of course, on a Saturday, lines will likely be longer for both anyway. I just know in the three years prior I've gone, I only ever went in 2-3 Haunts, and rode half as many coasters as I did this most recent visit, where I went into no Haunts. Hopefully this information was helpful!
  4. ^ Seriously, the things enthusiasts, and coaster snobs, say on these forums sometimes cracks me up to no end! Well, enjoy that grass, because that's probably the only thing you'll be getting at DP for quite some time!
  5. Great TR, RAWKIN! It was fun meeting up with you and your boyfriend again, and spending some more quality time at KI! Three straight years now, and I look forward to making it four next year! Sorry we couldn't do any Scare Mazes together this year, but hopefully by next year, the kids will be ready to venture in some! BTW, I found your picture of "me" after my Keto diet VERY amusing! Hopefully, it doesn't go that far! Here is the on-ride photo from the kids first ride ever on The Beast, after you abandoned us for your amazing front row last ride of the night! Like I said on the KI page, the kids were blown away! lol
  6. The Beast, at night, with my kids for their first ever ride on the coaster!
  7. Just went to KI Friday night, and took my kids for their first Haunt! They were a little... Let's just say nervous, regarding the whole Scare Actor part of it, especially at first, but they warmed up to the park's ambiance, and were loving the experience by the end of the night! It's a yearly tradition for me to head down there for Haunt, so I'm glad they felt similarly as I do about it! They were blown away by the night rides on all the coasters, particularly Mystic Timbers, Banshee, and The Beast! I'd taken them last year for their first time at the park, but we only rode MT in the dark, as the Beast line closed for fireworks right after we got in it, and had to catch a shuttle, so we couldn't wait. So they got their first Beast ride in - at night, of course - as our last ride of the trip, and were amazed by it! Not their favorite coaster in the park, or even favorite night ride, but it definitely left a lasting impression. Weighing in on the Firehawk commentary, my kids got their first ride on that as well, and all three of them really enjoyed it, and wish it weren't leaving. I also enjoyed my final ride on it, and continue to assert that this is an unnecessary removal, unless they are planning to move it to another CF park or sell it. The coaster isn't as bad as everybody likes to act like it is (Vortex is EASILY the worst coaster in the park, other than maybe Invertigo, and The Beast is rougher than Firehawk, so...), and other than its terrible capacity, and tendency to break down, it's a solid coaster in the park, and would be a solid to very good coaster at another, lesser park! So I hope this "Hawk" lands elsewhere, and doesn't go the way of the dinosaur (and Dino's Alive, for that matter! ) Bottom line though, regardless of that unfortunate (in my opinion) situation, KI remains firmly among my most beloved parks, and they continue to deliver the best night rides, and one of the best Haunt experiences around! I miss having the Scare Actors all over the park, and milling around the front when you enter, but I get the impression they caught some flak about that from people, because Scare Actors were basically limited to the Scare Zones this year. I only saw a handful the entire night (having not gone through any Scare Zones due to the kids' concerns.) The No-Boo necklace was a nice touch to have available as well, as it really provided some peace of mind to my kids, as I got one for my daughter to wear, but with everybody sticking close, the few Scare Actors who did wander near us did not bother the kids at all. I look forward to coming again next year, and I may even be able to sneak another trip out there this month, with my girlfriend, if the finances allow it. Such a great park, especially at this time of year!
  8. I hear you on that. The times that I've ridden Batwing, it takes several minutes for a dispatch. That and laying on my back and going up the lift hill staring at the sun isn't fun. That was the worst part of the experience, if you ask me! That's why I haven't ridden it except at night in forever! Going to ride it for the last time tonight!
  9. How do you know they're scrapping it? I don't, though the way it was worded seemed to indicate that. However, I'm really hoping that's not the case!
  10. Please, Cedar Fair! Don't just waste a perfectly good coaster that could make the coaster lovers of Michigan very happy!
  11. As I figured. Not a huge loss, though I'm surprised they're just scrapping it... I hate seeing any coaster junked needlessly, and I highly doubt Firehawk is really "at the end of its service life". But whatever... I'm sure that's where we'll be seeing expansion in a couple years, and it'll be way better than Firehawk! I'm glad I'll be there tomorrow night, to get one final night ride in!
  12. Hmmm... It's not THAT bad, and would be one of the best coasters at DP, especially to the GP! But hey... It's not my home park, so it doesn't matter to me! (And we'd gladly take it at MiA!)
  13. Getting a big, new to you coaster "scared" you, especially when you haven't gotten anything in years???
  14. That's not what I'm thinking for where Firehawk will go, but it'd be funny, that's for sure!
  15. I posted this in the KI thread, but I actually think it makes a lot of sense for Dorney to be getting Firehawk from KI (I'm almost certain that's the coaster being removed.) Not only is Dorney the kind of park that can make the terrible capacity on Firehawk seem less atrocious, it could be marketed as the ONLY Flying Coaster in Pennsylvania! A distinction, which given how many amusement parks and coasters are in PA, is actually not too cheap. The space freed up by Stinger's removal, and moving the Flyers, along with the land behind it, would fit Firehawk perfectly. I know people hate the "It's due" argument in relation to the lesser tended to CF parks, but let's be real here... DP definitely is due for something larger to be added, and of all the things they could add, a used Flying Dutchman coaster from elsewhere in the chain actually would be a solid addition for the park. Time will tell, but the lack of announcements for DP so far, combined with the sudden late announcement of a coaster at KI closing, and now this planning agenda confirmation of a project big enough to require township approval, all seem to point to the above scenario being very possible.
  16. Actually, as much as it'd be nice to see MiA get a new (to them) coaster, I actually feel it's more likely that Dorney Park actually gets the love first, and when you look at the space given by the removed Stinger (and relocating the Flyers), and the empty field next to it, Firehawk would actually fit in well there also. Furthermore, it could be marketed (which really, is always going to be prime rationale when it comes to adding coasters into parks) as Pennsylvania's ONLY flying coaster - which in a coaster and amusement park packed state like Pennsylvania, would be saying something. As others have stated, a coaster with as atrocious of capacity as Firehawk has, really is better suited to operate in a park that has very minimal lines as it is. Hmmm... I wonder which park in CF's chain is notorious for non-existent lines... Until the novelty wears off, Flying coasters do generate GP interest, and I'm sure DP would see a nice spike in attendance next year were they to put it there. I know Michiganders would flock to MiA if it was put there! If a B&M Wing is the forthcoming 2020 coaster, a flying theme would definitely fit in well back there in that area. KI is such a great park, but Firehawk just doesn't seem to fit in well there, and I never ride it unless it's Haunt, and dark out. I certainly wouldn't cry if Vortex bid adieu, since that coaster is murder on my body! But I just don't think its time has come quite yet...
  17. Sums up my thoughts perfectly. I see nothing wrong with this attraction at all. But I can't think of the last time a rapids ride is something that made people go out of their way to create an extra click through a turnstile. The last time would probably have been Grand Rapids, at Michigan's Adventure - which really is more of a testament to how rare an actual substantial addition to that park is, than it is indicating Rapids rides draw people in!
  18. She's not not lying about the whole "using others as a buffer thing, either! But when the scare actors DO get her, it's priceless! THIS. This is why going to KI for Haunt is now an annual event for me personally! Oh, and Banshee too! It's a great night ride, regardless of what its haters say! (And whatever you do, don't skip Adventure Express at night!) Can't wait to take my oldest three kids to KI for Haunt and night rides for the first time two weeks from today!
  19. I'm SO excited about this announcement, and the near confirmation of RMC Gwazi finally happening! I have maintained all along, even in the face of a lot of doubters cropping up as the years have gone by, that Gwazi would eventually be RMC'd, and am stoked to finally see that patience paying off! BGT is already my favorite place to go in Florida (yes, over anything Orlando has to offer!), and the addition of these next two coasters will only continue to cement its status in my mind. Like Robb said earlier, BGT has an excellent collection of quality over quantity coasters already (though I'm not a fan of Scorpion - sue me! lol), and that will only be getting better! I feel like the Busch parks in general are all like this, as both SWO and BGW have excellent collections of coasters, in my opinion! In fact, when I took my kids earlier this year to Florida, I was actually debating whether SWO had passed BGT as my favorite Florida destination. However, these additions will certainly tip the scales firmly in favor of BGT, as far as I'm confirmed! I definitely see a 2020 trip to Florida with my kids (this time including Star Wars Land as well!) in the future, assuming my monetary situation allows for it! Regarding the 2019 addition, I have actually never ridden a Skyrocket II model, and have found them very intriguing ever since Superman went in at SFDK. Not sure when my first will be, unless my hoped-for trip to BGW happens next year, but I must agree with those that said Tigris is the best looking of the bunch! Very sharp, and will fit in perfectly over there in that area, especially with the Tigers nearby. It actually makes me wonder whether BGT might be switching the Orangutan and Tiger habitats around, so the Tigers are directly connected to the Tigris area. I didn't see anything about it in the announcement, but maybe I missed it. Or maybe it's not happening. lol On a semi-unrelated note, just now when I was looking at BGT from the satellite view to check out the area, something I've done probably over 100 times before in my life, I noticed the large culinary warehouse buildings, and substantial parking lot area in the middle of the park, for the VERY FIRST TIME! How on earth have I glazed over that before all these times??? You would think I'd have noticed it from ShieKra, but if I did, I didn't pay it much attention. They do a great job of hiding it from view while you're down on the ground in the park, so props to them for that! BGT is such a beautiful, immersive park experience, and I can't wait to go back in a couple of years, and experience a couple of great new additions!
  20. Seriously! I know SF gets a bad rap, and I still think CF is better overall as a company. But I would much rather have SF own MiA than CF, as at least the park would get regular, minor additions, rather than nothing, year after year! It's all about perspective, and I think anybody with a SF park nearby should consider themselves blessed!
  21. ^Did they say it won't open until June somewhere? Because pre-announcement they mentioned what they were teasing would open January 12. But then somebody else said that was a different attraction (Pirates of the Deep Sea?). Regardless, doesn't matter to me... I'm just trying to give Six Flags the benefit of the doubt that their marketing isn't intentionally misleading... But, I mean... We all know it probably is, so...
  22. I think this is a great looking addition, and adds to the growing list of SFMM coasters that I still need to get my butt on (YOLO, TC)! If I had any minor quibble, it would be that it seems redundant with TC at the same park, but that's not a big deal... Two of something really fun, is twice the amount of fun! I also like that the area back there is getting re-themed, and re-furbed, as it was really... "Meh", last time I was in the park. Can't wait to see all the new changes, and sprucing up of the park on that back side of the mountain since I was last there! Hopefully next year, and hopefully for WCB! Pray that I can somehow get out of debt, and save a nice chunk of change by then! Oh, and to weigh in on the whole "Family Coaster" topic, I don't feel when looking at this that it's a family coaster, as it looks pretty thrilling to me! Not saying a coaster can't be both, but I think anybody discounting this coaster as tame, or for the kiddies, I think is greatly misjudging it!
  23. In the press release they said ours is the tallest and fastest Six Flags Fiesta Texas, the Thrill Capital of South Texas, will debut the tallest and fastest spinning pendulum ride in the world. Named after the world’s most iconic Super Villain, The Joker Wild Card delivers a unique brand of chaotic, dizzying fun for extreme thrill- seekers. Towering a record-breaking 17-stories tall, this impressive giant disk will reach speeds up to 80 miles per hour as it whips back and forth, and higher and higher, to give riders a spectacular view of the world below them. The Joker Wild Card will become the centerpiece of a newly themed DC Universe area. The park is also announcing year-round operation, adding winter weekends and holidays to its regular operating season. See, but I suspect they're being tricky here, by saying "will debut the tallest and fastest spinning pendulum ride in the world." They already stated this is going to open in January, and since GAdv won't be open then, it WILL be the tallest and fastest - a record breaker - when it opens. It would appear that the GAdv version will likely tie that record whenever it opens at GAdv. Of course, that doesn't address the fact that apparently SFMM is is same as these two models... Makes me wonder if this will swing slightly higher, so SFFT can claim that record, albeit briefly. Of course, they may not really care about semantics, and are just marketing things fast and loose! Crazy. I know, SF would never do that!
  24. I don't think these feelings have to be mutually exclusive. I love CP, have grown up with it as a regular, and important part of my life, and consider it my favorite Amusement Park. Just for pure thrills, I don't think it can be matched, and even if I ever make it overseas, I doubt that'll change. However, I also LOVE BGW, and what it brings to the table is entirely different in its package form than CP! I haven't even been to BGW since before Griffen and Verbolten, and it's one of my top parks in the country, that's how great it is in all of the little things! Plus, it has a great collection of rides and coasters! So yeah, I think it's a treasure, and deserves to be appreciated! I sure hope to finally get back next year to appreciate it some more myself!
