At Dorney, it's almost always Talon. Sometimes I'll do a "back of the park" day and start with Possessed then run loops between Cedar Creek Flyers, Steel Force, Demon Drop, then back to Possessed. Knoebels, it's /always/ the flyers. Pick up a wristband, then head right over to the Flyers and camp on those for the first 30 minutes. Great Adventure, is always Toro until it's no longer a walk on. Hershey is usually "head straight for skyrush and lap it as many times as my thighs can handle"

It was pretty deserted yesterday once the rain stopped. They had the last 5 rows of Nitro roped off, felt like it was running extremely slow. Don't think my butt left the seat once in any row. Batman was running amazingly, as expected, so that was nice. Something about that ride during HitP makes it amazing. It's normally a coaster we skip when we go during the summer, but in the winter? Jesus, it's the best ride in the park.

Top/Favorite Hyper Coasters
Physical replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Of the ones I've ridden; (Excluding Giga/Strata) 1) Skyrush 2) Apollo's Chariot 3) Steel Force (Probably because I've ridden it so much and can really appreciate it for what it is. A solid old school hyper with amazing floater) 4) Nitro 5) Phantoms Revenge 6) Alpengeist (Technically a hyper - Feel free to strike it from the list if you disagree) 7) Intrimidator {Carowinds} In theory, I feel I'll greatly enjoy Magnum XL-200 when I make it out to Cedar Point this year. Titan/Goliath also look awesome, but I'm a huge fan strong positive forces. -

"Oh I wonder how the Cedar Point thread is doing" *closes thread* -
(From the Cedar Point thread) I know this probably belongs on the Dorney thread, but does anyone remember when the park security was featured in a couple episodes of All Worked Up? I do remember that, that security guard is a load cooler in real life, haha. I love this idea, both my souvenir bottles melted in my car this past summer. I still got my money's worth but at the same time I felt kind of ripped off. I'd much prefer just getting it on my pass.

As long as CP keeps handing down awesome rides, I have no complaints! (Other than the obvious "over 10 years without a custom coaster" issue) -

I would love this, both my souvenir cups melted in my car. I didn't want to forget them at home so I just kept them in the back seat, went to get the Great Adventure one only to find it was trashed. -
Weird roller coasters.

That channel is full of weird Chinese coasters. It's pretty great. -

I figure with a park as large as Cedar Point, there's not many "dead days" where we shouldn't expect lines? We usually opt for smaller parks during odd weeks in early June when there's little to no crowds. -

So are Freedom Flyers at Hershey, but they run those on high speed for a longer cycle. I use CCF as a training platform so when we hike out to Knoebels a few times a year my flyer skills aren't dulled. (something something if you can snap CCF you can snap anything) Either way, we're really looking forward to our trip out to Cedar Point. I appreciate the tips. Here's hoping New Mean Streak is operating by the time we make it out. -

Complete f*cking sh*t Blasphemy! They can't be any worse than the Cedar Creek Flyers, and I still ride those every time I wander out to Dorney for an hour or two. -

I'll definitely set aside some money, but I'd prefer not to pick one up. We both have Gold passes for SF and CF so two trips isn't out of the question if the first one ends up being extremely busy. -

We'd probably do 1 or 2 days at Cedar Point, then a day at Kings Island. Figure a day at CP to do the short/no wait rides, and use it as a gauge if we'd want fastlane for the 2nd day. -

I'm sold. Doesn't sound too bad, plus CP is pretty huge. I'm sure we'll be able to find things with shorter lines. Worst comes to worse, we'll just post up at their Flyers for an hour or two until we get bored of that. Thanks for the insight! Just started a new job that is a pretty significant pay cut from my old job, so fastlane might be off the table. We have a few months though, so we'll see. -

How are crowds on Labor Day weekend? We're planning our first trip out to CP in 2017 and we still have no idea when we're going to go. -
Cargo Shorts. Your thoughts?

I just keep everything except my wallet in the car, then either hold my wallet on the ride or stick it in a small pocket. If I struggle to get it out while standing or walking around in the park, chances are it's not coming out on a coaster. Keys get clipped to a belt loop via carabiner. -
Honestly if it didn't valley in 34 degree weather on the first run of the day (without water dummies I'd assume - Only ride in the park I /know/ tests with water dummies in cold weather is Toro) it's not going to valley. That's some /serious/ cold to be running a Hyper in! Major props to Six Flags on that.

Credit where it's due, it does look like an awesome ride. I'm just a bit of a nerd when it comes to NL2. Sorry for rabble raising, it wasn't the intention.
