There's no way they're going to build that small of a coaster after 6-7 years. They're going to probably take down another area nearby and try to build something bigger. -

They'd probably put a Banshee sized invert. -

I'd rather have a launched B&M. They are people eaters. -

A launched wingrider is more likely than a hyper. But yes, I could definitely see a coaster starting out in Shockwaves's spot and going into the Forrest. No, no, no. Construction would have started, and remember back in 2013 when a Cedar Fair exec clearly stated that no new wing coasters were in the works? Three years aren't enough to plan one of these huge coasters, and it's highly doubtful that Cedar Fair can afford another large-scale coaster AFTER Cedar Point's "Valravn" and California's Great America's "Floorless Vortex" conversion. Plus, the Shockwave plot wouldn't even be large enough for a queue and launch portions. Believe it or not, B&Ms are actually huge #themoreyouknow. And a hypercoaster? That's A) preposterous B) extremely expensive C) would take up the length of the entire midway, so **** Windseeker and everything else in the way D) Busch Gardens has one, and it'd admittedly probably be better or very similar to KD's E ) again, construction hasn't started anywhere around there. Just get your last rides on Shockwave, and accept the new age of flats in Candy Apple Grove. I meant in 2017. And the Vortex conversation isn't that expensive. It's merely adding new trains and devices to the station. Also remember that they said for the next 3-4 years. As in, that's probably a hint that a wing coaster could be coming to a Cedar Fair park. -

Sadly, I think this might be what's happening... I see sadly, because I really like that tree lined path, it's a nice breather in your daily walk I would miss Blue Ridge Tollway, but the Flying Ace is unneeded with the three swing rides already at KD. -

Most likely the land will be used for a slingshot and a portion of the new coaster. -

A new B&M would TREMENDOUSLY improve capacity and lines in other coasters. They are people eaters. -
DORNEY PARK ANNOUNCES VORTEX In 2016, Dorney Park will open the tallest, fastest, and longest TOGO standup coaster on the planet! Brave the sensation of an 85 foot drop at a stomach-churning 52 degrees straight down, into a forceful vertical loop. But the terror has only started. Embrace a 50 foot tall airtime hill, going directly into an intense double helix. But it's not over yet! Fly through a total of four bunny hills, providing exhilarating pops of airtime, with a disorienting banked turn in between. Riders will be sucked into another dimension of thrills at speeds up to 50 MPH, all standing up! The coaster will have an eye-opening silver track color with navy blue supports! Vortex! Be amazed by a new kind of thrill! Opening April 2016 (P.S. The coaster is really Shockwave from Kings Dominion with a different track color.)

It should be a launched B&M wingrider because they are way more intense than the regular wingrider. It could be like Kingd Dominion's own Maverick. -

To be fair, ANYTHING can happen with it closing this early! Remember dismantling of Disaster Transport didn't begin until August 6th for GateKeeper. I'm not saying expect a GateKeeper sized coaster, but with the August 9th removal date it definitely seems like they're making way for something of significant value in 2016. If you've watched Coaster Studios, he predicted that Kings Dominion will get a 200 ft tall invert. That would be epic. Either that or a launched wingrider. -

The fact that it's closing so early in the season is a good sign... HUSS giant frisbee possibly? -

At opening, go to Dominator first. That gets crowded later on. Volcano and I305 also have very long lines. -

KD gets good attendance but it's not top 5 among seasonal parks. CP, KI, CW, SFMM, SFGradv, BGW, Hershey, and SFGAM all pull in bigger numbers. I'm pretty sure Kings Dominion pulls in more than SFGAdv and SFGA. But regardless, if Kings Dominion got I305, then I'm sure they can get a major cool ride. -

I'd actually be really dissapointed if Kings Dominion added any type of wing rider coaster! I've ridden both X-Flight at Six Flags Great America and Gatekeeper at Cedar Point and I was'nt impressed with either. I think wingriders are very painful with the harnesses being way too tight. There's not any looseness feeling whatsoever. I'd want a 200 ft tall invert more than anything, but a launched wingrider would be more intense than a regular wingrider. -

YES PLEASE!!!! Oh and make it a dueling loop like Twisted Colossus! Imagine a zero g-roll going over an airtime hill! Do we really have to go into hallucinatory KD fanfiction again? Twilight's got nothin' on whatever you're smokin'. Wingrider? Maybe (in 2017, ). Launched? HECK NO. Too expensive. Dueling? WTF(udge - PG13 censor) no, this isn't Universal. CF will never budget for a new large steel dueling coaster at KD, there's not enough attendance potential to do so. Zero-g roll over airtime hill? See "dueling". The area you indicated? Not likely, but may be used for a coaster in 2017. Why wouldn't it be launched? It's a B&M which means that reliability won't be an issue like with Intamin. Cedar Fair is more concerned with repair costs after a coaster opens (I305) than the initial cost right now. Plus, it would make KD the launch capital of the world again. The dueling aspect is possible. It could launch into a section and then loop around and launch beside that into another section. Also Kings Dominion is one of the top 5 most visited seasonal parks (as in Six Flags, Cedar Fair, etc.). There's the attendence for one. -
