Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I personally think VALRAVN is a great name. Yeah its a little out there, but it kinda reminds me of darkness among other things. It's an intimidating name for sure. And I personally think that's a good think. If the coaster goes into a tunnel, and has a ton of sweeping, flying turns, then it fits even better. -

Does anyone else find it weird that CP allowed all this to leak? Especially the name? -
Top Roller Coaster Myths & Rumors!

On X Flight, If you are in the backseat and you have a quarter in your lap, when you go through the inverted drop, the person on the opposite side of the train, in the front, will catch it. Kinda a new twist on the quarter loop myth. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

That Hades 360 actually got two inversions, one is in the underground section as a barrel roll. -
Breakers Express is great. I spent two days without a FL+ and easily got everything done. I would think with one it will be easy to get everything done in one day. Make sure to get to the low capacity rides first (Maverick mostly), as those lines will get long. Same with TTD, and some days Millenniums lines can get longish. Just plan wisely, a good plan is your best friend at CP.

Most INTENSE Coaster Moment?
kcurry11 replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Man, I feel for you. I'm 6'3", and they force them down. I just want to tell them, "Hey man, I got this, I can put down my own restraints." As for most intense, the first drop on Maverick. I rode it the first time without any reading, and didn't even see the drop because we were in the middle of the rush at the beginning of the day to get to the front of the line. Then I was promptly ripped from my seat. -

How about any trim break ever. *ahem* Raging Bull *ahem* -
This may be a stupid question, but what was In the Loop before In the Loop, and where can I find the old podcasts?

This is a freak accident. I expect Gerstlauer to bounce back much like RMC and Intamin did after their incidents. Things happen sometimes for reasons unknown. But we can not shove the manufacturer under the bus, that like blaming a house for falling down in a tornado. -

I totally agree. I love super intense coasters as much as the next guy, but intensity does not make a great coaster automatically, and just because a coaster isn't intense, does not make it a flaming pile of crap either. I personally believe a dive coaster is the perfect fit for CP. But that's just me... -
Favorite Defunct Roller Coaster/Ride

I loved me some Deja Vu back in the day. I was only 9 or 10 I believe when it was operating at SFGAM, but it was my first major looper I got to go on, so it holds a special place in my heart. -
Alright everybody. I am by no means a newbie to SFGAM, I visit 3 or 4 times per year usually, but because these last 2 years I have been traveling around more to get credits, I have not visited since Goliath. I am wondering how it effects line times, and do you have a suggested time to go to each major ride during the day? Now that I have been traveling a lot, I know the importance of a well planned day to get everything in multiple times. I'm assuming rush to Goliath, then work my way around one way throughout the day. Thanks.

So doing some basic math, its about 1.2 per day, and it has been a pattern of "2 off 2 2 off off 2 2 off 2", so then tomorrow would be 2 more, then two days off, then the final two, then one day off, then the announcement. Which would put the possible announcement on Tuesday of next week. -

What's been the rate of rides being put up on the wall? Can we assume how many days until a possible announcement using that number and the number of coasters left (4)? -
The Cedar Point fanboys would claim to have the top 16 rides in the world What if Intamin and B&M joined forces?
