  1. Fun TV was a big surprise. I noticed at both KD and CP that the majority of the queues were fully engaged in the trivia, and the music videos did make the crowds more lively. I find Fun TV to be quite enjoyable myself, minus Taylor Swift. I'm sorry, what? Can't process this.
  2. It's funny because Fairly Odd Coaster and Spinning Dragons are the same model and essentially the same ride all together. I guess they are clones lol
  3. News from where... A ride op? Proof or it didn't happen.

  5. Alright everyone, I've contemplated doing this for a year or so, and I got bored so here it is. The picture below is Worlds of Fun, but with a bunch of fancy colors. Each one represents a phase of expansion I've thought about. I'd like to clarify before all of you read this that the image is only a representation of what I've dreamt up, and the odds of it happening are sadly pretty much nothing. In no particular order, here are what the colors mean: Green I've always wondered about what could be placed in the woods between Scandi and Europa, and a coaster is plausible if the bumper cars are moved. The kiddie bumper cars in Americana are useless, so if those were torn out the bumper cars in Europa could be moved there. That opens up ample room for a family-style coaster, perhaps something along the lines of Backlot Stunt Coaster but in the woods, or a small arrow-esque coaster. Orange While I absolutely hate the Rotor/ Finish Fling, I'd be sad to see it go. It is one of the few older charming rides the park has, and it still remains rather popular. The area behind it, however, is prime for new attractions. By building a bridge over the train depot, that wooded area is opened up and can be used for something new in Scandi. The long extended orange lines into the parking lot are just my thoughts on a possible coaster path, it doesn't matter what kind. A giga or hyper or winged coaster would be cool, but whatever. Red We keep bringing up a new entrance, and I finally think I've found a plausible location. The Orient Express was right up against the parking lot, and there is now space for something there. By building a new entrance, the parking is a much shorter walk to the park AND the handicapped spots are still the closest to the entrance. Blue If a new entrance was built, the land all the way around Patriot opens up. I'm thinking the Northeastern most section of the blue could be an expanded orient, simply by relocating or removing the skyliner. The rest of the blue could be (Surprise!) an expansion of Americana, and there are endless possibilities for what could be built back there. A coaster and multiple flats, a dark ride, some restaurants, and new live entertainment could all go over there. Yellow If WoF ever saw this much love, Planet Snoopy would obviously need to eventually see some TLC. By building under the Mamba, there is more room for kiddie rides and a coaster that sort of goes into the woods. Perhaps that is another good location for an arrow-type ride. Purple The Prowler's plaza has always felt like a bit of a dead end, and while it probably isn't reasonable I think it'd be neat to see that connected all the way around to OoF. There is tons of room in the woods back there and it could serve as both additions for OoF and WoF sides. The water attractions of course would branch from OoF's current boundaries, and the rides from WoF's. It would make both parks seem more combined, rather than two separate entities. I love the idea of the boundaries between the two being blurred almost, with just a sign not gates and checkpoints. This also appears to be possible without removing the dinosaurs, so then after they are gone there is room for more stuff. Pink Perhaps this is the best place for a giga coaster. Something completely dominating over Oceans would be pretty breathtaking, and it would really round out the skyline. Brown Water coasters are cool, and cedar fair has never added one, but OoF could use it. The water park is pretty nice as it is, so a water coaster would be great and offer something no other park around has. White If somehow all of this became reality, WoF would absolutely need a good hotel. The corner of the property is perfect because it is close to the highway and already next to the village. I'm thinking hotel-breakers type building? The grey is expanded parking, and the black is just a revamp of the "Good Time Theatre". I know these ideas are the very definition of unrealistic, but with 400 million this could happen! I also realize I paid little regard to access roads or storage facilities, but pish-posh, who needs those for a successful park anyways? While I'm at it, the entire park should be re-paved with concrete instead of Tarmac. That'd be a job! With no risk and no finite amount of money, this is what I've though of over the years. The things i'd love to see include a screamin' swing, an S&S drop tower, an indoor coaster, and new entertainment. Again, I know the market isn't there and the money isn't there, but in a perfect world I would make this park the Disney for thrillseekers, with better food and entertainment included. It'd be like a Hollywood Studios Disney Cedar Point on cocaine. I'm headed off to college in less than a month, so I probably won't be posting as often, but I wanted to get this idea out before I leave. Oh, and down by the hotel in the corner of the map, Steak n' Shake.
  6. As great as new rollercoasters are, does Americana really need anything...? I've always thought it would be cool if WoF got a whole new area (that huge field), but with the theming of the park it doesn't make sense. The secret other section of the world: Oceana! Oh well, if the park were to ever actually get a significant land addition it would probably end up being called "action zone". I wish the people who planned new rides and theming put as much thought into things as people on the forum do. Steel hawk? Really? And let's not even talk about Dinosaurs and a Pretzel shop in Africa! Perhaps the area behind steelhawk will be a grand new entrance with a few flats and a coaster plaza, then the current entrance gets absorbed into orient and Scandinavia. The entrance could also have an indoor, air-conditioned restaurant with quality food and service. Hope is good for the heart.
  7. Is the general consensus nobody knows what is coming to Valleyfair as of now?
  8. Thunder hawk has been open every time I've visited this season, so I'm not sure what was wrong with it but it seems to be perfectly fine now. Maybe I always lucky with that ride..?
  9. Then make normal guests have to walk all the way through WoF to get to the water park...? And season pass holders the opposite?
  10. Maybe they will have a respectful football team this year!!! The rivalry has become boring. Michigan State seems to have taken over as the best Michigan has to offer! My signature. Michigan state will never be the best at anything.
  11. Sunday also happened to be "bring a friend day", where tickets are $15 if one member in a group has a pass. Oceans of fun has ample room to expand, and depending on where their property line boundary is, they could even build all the way around the eastern side of the lake they have. One thing is for sure though, if the water park gets more attractions, the parking situation needs to be addressed. They added an entire new parking lot literally 2 years ago, and parking for the water park yesterday was a disaster. I've seen people park on the grass before, but. It was crazy. I think ANOTHER issue is that the park is a tad understaffed this year, because there were multiple rides at worlds of fun not open, and there weren't any people directing OoF traffic. Just. It was insane yesterday, and with good reason. It's not fair to say the theme park never sees crowds though, as more often than not the water park is the dead one. This week is the first KC has had with heat indexes over 100, and that definitely showed yesterday. Each side has their days where it has more people, so one day of 100 degree weather isn't a fair judgement for how the entire park runs every year. Honestly, the water park and the theme park both have their good days. But 105 degrees isn't the most ideal weather for the gp when it comes to coaster riding, especially with a free water park a few hundred feet away. Nevertheless, the coasters weren't completely dead, and most of them were running 2 trains by around 1 pm. On a Sunday. A SUNDAY The park wasn't ready for yesterday, I wasn't either! Both sides of the park need expansion, but that doesn't happen quickly so we have to just wait and see what corporate is going to do
  12. I know a dive coaster is all but confirmed, but I was thinking... And wouldn't it be a nice surprise if Cedar Point's new coaster is a Gerstlauer? B&M is great and whatnot, but the park doesn't have anything from them yet. I know the odds are literally 0, but it'd be cool if we were all surprised. Plus, something tells me Gerstlauer could do more in the footprint on the island than B&M could. Again, I know it isn't a reasonable scenario-especially with this whole Smiler fiasco-, but it is one I think more than just myself would enjoy. And RMC would be nice too, but that needs to be on the northernmost part of the island, right where a pile of rotting wood sits
  13. The detonator is more of a launching ride, it doesn't really go very fast towards the ground. It'd be cool if one side became a dropping tower, but I don't even think that is possible.
  14. Pictures can be found on the screamscape page Very interesting... Maybe a flat to go along with the waterpark expansion or my vote; Aquatrax Confirmed! How could it be a flat if the stakes are literally outside the park itself
  15. 1. Yes, crowds should be quite moderate; this early in the summer it's not too bad anyway, and rain will help that. Kansas City doesn't see a lot of tourism, so park visitors are mostly locals who can easily choose a different day. 2. Go straight to Spinning Dragons. It easily has the longest lines of any coaster due to low capacity. Patriot should be next, so that the line for the front won't be too long yet, and it really is much better there (that's normally true of inverts, but I find the pacing best in the front as well, especially on the zero-G roll). Then Prowler, Boomerang, and finish with Mamba. Mamba is super high capacity, much higher than any other coaster there, so even though it will see a lot of riders, the line's never bad for it. Last you can do the Wacky Worm if you have children, or if you're a credit whore. 3. Jayke pretty much nailed it in his answer. The maintenance director told me today that the ride should open this weekend. Yeah it was testing yesterday ALL DAY so it's opening shortly
  16. So to get conversation rolling again... Why did the park never maintain their snoopy hot summer lights? It was only there for 2011 and 12, then started disappearing come 2013. Now it's gone. I loved that it added a nice atmosphere to the Europa section at night...
  17. Flying Coaster 1 is a great value! I'm hungry... I'm not paying that much for Jr. Hamburger! I'm thirsty... Where are all the rides?
  18. I don't know that anything is land-locked. Worlds of fun has more open expansion area than any other park I've seen.
  19. Haha I didn't know it was that bad! I've never ridden it
  20. Haha I just figured I'd throw that out there. I've never ridden it, I just made a connection haha. Eventually I'll stop making silly ideas
  21. Has anyone thought about Excalibur from Valleyfair being removed? WoF is missing a family coaster, and that would just need to be moved and refurbished. Just a thought...
