  1. Oops, I forgot Skyrocket. That ride is butter smooth.
  2. We have reports on Carowinds Connection that track is on 26 headed presumably to Carowinds from Charleston.....looks like this could be an Intamin.
  3. I haven't seen this topic yet. What is the smoothest roller coaster you have experienced? I say Gatekeeper, Banshee, Patriot, Millennium Force and Leviathan.
  4. Aw come on, Cyclone isn't that bad. Ninja murdered me though. The roughest most horrible piece of junk I've ever ridden is Predator at Darien Lake. I thought I was going to lose my life to that abomination. Ugh.
  5. A question also regarding Hurler; Has the Kings Dominion version's first turn been re-tracked like Carowinds' Hurler? I noticed it made a huge difference in ride experience from the latter. I'm heading up to KD soon, so I just want to know.
  6. Cobra is one of the better boomerangs. How does headbanging occur with vest restraints?
  7. In line for Intimidator at Carowinds someone said they rode the "Best roller coaster on Earth" The Beast. He claimed it was over 10 miles long, had a 300 foot drop and went "hundreds of miles an hour" and that it made even the 232 ft. Intimidator look small.
  8. I rode High Roller last year and didn't feel much roughness compared to many other woodies.
  9. I've been on both Thunder Road and Racer, and I'm going to Kings Dominion in a few weeks. I hope its as fun as you claim
  10. So all of the positives are Cedar Point? I was surprised from the pain Magnum induced. It was a flat-out painful ride and not that smooth as stated. I sat in four different rows but each ride the lap bar bruised me. Maverick's OTSR downgraded the ride. Raptor is not smooth B&M and a lack luster invert. I however loved Blue Streak, Dragster and Millennium much more than I expected I would. I'm not criticizing your opinion, I just don't see how people enjoy Magnum when that lap bar is killing you the whole time.
  11. I didn't mind Gwazi. However, if anyone knows the Hurricane: Category 5 from the old Myrtle Beach Pavilion that is now demolished, even after riding Son of Beast that ride was ROUGH. It had some good pops of airtime, but it murdered me. Mean Streak wasn't that rough, just dull. So this is the top 2 1. Hurricane Category 5 2. Son of Beast
  12. Pleasant- Blue Streak- Filled with airtime Mindbender (SFOG)- Just an overall great ride with forceful loops Banshee- My new favorite invert. Many say its rather forceless, but I thought the drop was amazing, it was butter smooth, it was plenty forceful and the color scheme is awesome, not to mention the unique barrel roll at the end. I loved Banshee Afterburn- A rather average looking invert ended being one of the best. Perfectly paced, forceful, fast and fun. Tennessee Tornado- Best Arrow looper of all time. Hair Raiser (Ocean Park HK)- I had no idea what to expect, but I ended up loving this ride. The view is simply astonishing. Phoenix- AWESOME AIRTIME Unpleasant- Magnum XL 200- Never have I ever been more disappointed by a ride. This ride was painful. Every time we would hit the top of an airtime hill it felt as though a bat was slamming into my legs. Ouch. The Beast- Just very boring. No airtime whatsoever. Skyrush- Thighcrush. Raptor- Pretty rough for an invert, and not quite on the level as most others. Alpengeist- Another B&M invert? Of course. The ride was rough for an invert just like Raptor. Pacing was off, and the experience just left me asking "Was that all?" YOLOcoaster- Too short of a ride. Kingda Ka- After riding Dragster I guess lap bars do make a difference. Also, Ka was MUCH more rattly. Maverick- The OTSR ruined this for me. The ride itself is world class, but the restraints really downgrade the experience.
  13. As bad as Mean Streak needs it, anything would be much appreciated. I really hope they just demo it and add a GCI woodie.
  14. Here's a great aerial view of the park in which you can see a huge amount of tree chopping and construction going on. (Credit to jordN1414 on Carowinds Connection)
  15. I feel you. I ask myself to this day why I rode that contraption. I was freaking out the whole time and was severely winded by the time I got off. Sigh. Never again.
  16. Maverick Afterburn El Toro Skyrush Batman The Ride Top Thrill Dragster But nothing compares to.......... INTIMIDATOR 305 TRIMLESS
  17. I have a feeling much more than a Roller Coaster and a new entrance are coming to Carowinds next year.
  18. It's been a while since I've ridden Millennium Force, but I would say I like them equally. The only thing MF might have over Leviathan is the tunnels and the surrounding foliage. Leviathan is just plopped over the entrance. And sadly, I have yet to experience I305. Having ridden all three all of them are different experiences. Leviathan: Airtime and Smoothness Millennium: Drop, Tunnels and Lengthiness I305: Intensity and speed All three are in my top 10. I enjoy them all in different ways, Leviathan is definitely a great ride though. I love the airtime. I'm gonna go full out opinion and say that it is a bit better than Millennium Force, but not quite I305. I305 is the only Giga I have ridden and then afterwards questioned what just happened to my body.
  19. 1- Thunder Road (Carowinds) 100- The Dragon (Ocean Park Hong Kong) 200- Hydra: The Revenge (Dorney) My first roller coaster was Thunder Road at Carowinds
  20. I like the drop out of the station. It was a pleasant surprise. However it was just really rough. The last lift was fun just because of all the animatronics but was anti climatic indeed. I agree about Flight of Fear. It's kind of rough, but forceful and definitely enjoyable.
  21. I mean, technically it is necessary since you have to get back to the ride somehow. There's a little path back by the station for quick re-rides, which essentially renders the longer path no longer part of the line. Okay, I take back the unnecessary part. Its a necessary. But still long.

  23. My Trip to Kings Island was July 7-8 and this is how it went; Banshee: My new favorite invert, silky smooth in the first few rows, also got a back seat ride. Very forceful and the first drop was outstanding. 9.5/10 Diamondback: I was expecting better airtime, but still a fun lengthy B&M hyper. Love the splashdown. 9/10 The Beast: Definitely one of my new favorite woodies. Love how it runs along the terrain. It's gotten a bit rough though, and the trims are pretty annoying. Still awesome especially at night. 8.5/10 Invertigo: Cool concept of the opposite facing seats but sort of rougher than I expected and the line moved pathetically slow. 5/10 Firehawk: A decent Vekoma Flyer, not as good as Nighthawk but better than Batwing. I don't really appreciate the deafening lift. 7.25/10 Flight of Fear: I was expecting a much smoother ride. I enjoyed the whole "In the dark" thing. The launch was pretty fun, and I liked the corkscrew. The brake run at the end was brutal. 7.5/10 The Racer: Just an average out and back woodie. Rebel Yell is better, not sure about Thunder Road. 6.25/10 Vortex: This ride is not as bad as people make it out to be. I rode this three times in a row with a few of my friends without receiving a headache (Unlike most arrows). 7/10 Stunt Coaster: Cool little launch, decent theming. A decent family ride. 6/10 The Bat: Wow. Surprisingly fun and intense! Smoother than I expected too! Just a bit too short. I like how the theming and name pay homage to the old Bat. 7.5/10 Adventure Express: This ride was rougher than the average woodie. And the anti-climatic finish was....strange. Kind of disappointing. Just an average mine train. 5/10 Woodstock Express: Just a family coaster. Seat-belt came undone mid ride though. 4.25/10 Delirium: I like giant frisbees. Yay. 8/10 Windseeker: Just a windy swing. 7/10 Boo Blasters: The line moved fast. A nice relaxing ride. OMG THE AIR CONDITIONER 5/10 (5 for the AC) Flying Ace Aerial Chase: Eghh. 3/10 Slingshot: Although this ride robbed me a ludicrous amount of cash, I still enjoyed the ride. 7.75/10 Surf Dog: The closest experience to surfing in the history of my life. OVER 9000/10 I never got to ride Drop Tower For some reason it was closed both days I was there. Well that sums up my trip. I went from Kings Island to Cedar Point to Dorney. Heading up to Kings Dominion this August!
