  1. ^ Read the whole caption. He asked what people's favourites were.
  2. Coaster: Skyrush Flat: Intamin 1st Gen drop tower
  3. Because my answer will almost always be El Toro, I'm gonna throw a curveball and say Joker at GAdv. Hell of a lot of fun.
  4. No no no... OVER 2 1/2 hours. It just doesn't go any higher. See the little plus sign? Lol Christ, I missed that. I just don't know what to say lol. How is 2.5+ hours worth strapping a phone to your face to see a cheesy movie? Especially on a ride that is so great it doesn't need extra bells and whistles.
  5. Two and a half hours for Superman when no other ride has more than 5 minutes is absolutely atrocious. Hope the parks realize how big a mistake this VR was.
  6. ^^ I agree that Goliath is very boring. I was surprised that Titan wasn't anywhere near as dull, and packed a punch in the helices.
  7. At least Titan packs a punch. Steel Force just bores me to tears. It's the only coaster where I've been able to hold a conversation with the person next to me the entire ride.
  8. Having ridden both, Titan is a much better ride. Titan has great intensity, the way a hyper should.
  9. Well, I said it stinks earlier, but that was me exaggerating. I still ride it, and even have some fun on it. I just think the park needs something new on the dry side. The coaster line-up, save for Talon and maybe Possessed, is very stale.
  10. ^ If it were actually classified as a mine train, it probably would be.
  11. I try to get to Great Adventure at least once a month, to varying success. I go to Dorney once a year, visit Coney Island once or twice, and if I'm really lucky, squeeze in a trip to Hershey.
  12. Completely optional, but you still have to wait on the absurd line. 105 minutes on a Thursday when schools are still in session is a nightmare. I'm probably skipping Superman when I visit this year because of this piss poor gimmick.
  13. Steel Force stinks. There's really nothing else to say about it. People flock to it because it is the tallest ride in the park and think the ride will be good because of that. The park could use something new and actually thrilling to make people realize the error of their ways. Hopefully they clear out the silly dinosaur exhibit, and put that land to better use in the near future.
  14. 1. Skyrush (Hersheypark) 2. El Toro (SFGAdv) 3. Boulder Dash (Lake Compounce) 4. Bizarro (SFNE) 5. New Texas Giant (SFOT) 6. Storm Runner (Hersheypark) 7. Wicked Cyclone (SFNE) 8. Full. Throttle (SFMM) 9. Xcelerator (Knotts) 10. Fahrenheit (Hersheypark)
  15. Visited with JCoaster last night and just wanted to share a few thoughts on Joker. This ride is bat-s#!t insane, totally worthy of its namesake. The ride must have some Joker venom in it, because when I got off I was howling and cackling like a loon. Rode both sides once, one time facing out and once facing in and got two totally different experiences. I think it's a much better ride than Green Lantern at Magic Mountain, which is the only similar ride I had in my credits to compare Joker too. Great addition. Like JCoaster said in his post, it was a great night at the park. Walk-on's and station waits galore. Finally got on Ka for the first time and it will probably be my last time in quite a while. Sat in row 3 and my head was getting jackhammered on the launch. New trains, please? Not gonna hold my breath. Also got to meet El Toro Ryan. Really nice guy and he and his crew were cranking trains out of the station. As most know, El Toro can be very hit or miss in the ops department, so it was great to see one of our own on the ball, hustling with dispatches. "My back."
  16. Hope those are just school groups. Heading down to the park tomorrow around 4, and if I see lines like that I'll weep.
  17. Do you remember which row you sat in, exactly? I'm very curious about this and want to give it a shot when I head back to the park in a couple of weeks.
  18. ^ Park won't be as crowded as yesterday as it is a Monday. You'll be contending with school trips but they usually clear out around 3-5 pm. Not sure if there's a place for phone charging.
  19. ^ Why? Great Adventure is much larger than Disneyland. I doubt the park actually got to 70k today but it could certainly fit them all in.
  20. Wow 10 years already. Happy Anniversary to one of the GOATs
  21. Likewise. This thread has the most pictures of DLP that I've ever seen in all the years I've known about the resort. It looks very nice, shame most of the park goers don't respect the rules.
  22. Depends on how crowded the park is on the day you visit. The Safari's line builds up quickly and they close the line early on crowded days. If it seems like the park is going to be packed, hit it first. If not, you should get Ka out of the way first as it's the most unreliable ride in the park.
  23. Talon is probably my 2nd favourite invert, after the Batman clones. Hydra is at the bottom of my floorless list, albeit I've only ridden five rides of the type. I actually like Hydra, a lot more than most, it seems. Steel Force, on the other hand is one of my least favourite coasters ever. Just a glorified mine train that has nothing of note besides a decent helix and some mild air on the return hills.
  24. Echoing what others have said; the safari is amazing. I never did it when it was drive your own car, and didn't expect anything but a half-assed, Kilamanjaro Safari rip-off. I was absolutely blown away, and would even go so far as to say that SORA is better than Kilamanjaro.
  25. Hockey legend Gordie Howe. www.cnn.com/2016/06/10/us/gordie-howe-dies/index.html
