  1. I live about 30-45 minutes from SFNE, so Wicked Cyclone as my most "antipated" ride is a no-brainer.
  2. For all you history nerds out there, here's a patent showing Harry Traver's concept for a coaster car that can switch from a sit-down position to a lay-down position during certain portions of the ride. There's even a mention of an "added novelty" whereupon the car can be rigged to deliver mild electric shocks to passengers. https://www.google.com/patents/US1785989?dq=harry+traver&hl=en&sa=X&ei=n-05VK2FJcupogTejYKgBg&ved=0CFUQ6AEwCA 4th dimension coasters and unique, extreme elements on wooden coasters? Sounds familiar...
  3. About the Tea Cups, the ride is called the Kaffeetassen-Fahrt, or "Coffee Mug Ride".
  4. They probably had the most awesome lineup of flat rides out of all the Six Flags parks. Why would they ruin that?
  5. Evil S&S flat ride? Do you mean Hellevator? Because that became part of Scream.
  6. Top ten: 10. The Boomerang at Savin Rock. It was half-Waltzer, and half launched Virigina Reel. I found footage on YouTube. Skip to 1:25 for shots of the ride. 9. Crystal Beach Cyclone - This coaster is only number nine on my list, because I'd imagine that it would be like riding Mind Eraser with buzz bars. 8. Coney Island Tumbler - This was essentially two Chance Skydivers mounted on a giant, rotating boom. I've never been on a Skydiver, but I've been on a Rock-O-Plane, and it seems like it would have been really fun - had I known there was a spin control... 7. Coney Island Parachute Jump - A 200-foot drop tower with a tiny chairswing seat... 6. Flying Turns at Euclid Beach - It seems like this one had the longest ride-time of the wooden bobsleds (Not counting lift hills. Sorry, Knoebels.) 5. Backety-Back Railway at Crystal Beach - Before GCI's Switchback coaster, there was this. It looked really fun, and it was certainly unique. 4. Twister at Elitch Gardens - What many consider to be John Allen's greatest work was also his least favorite. Personally, I would love to experience the original "lateral buffet". 3. Mauch Chunk Switchback Railway - The USA's first roller coaster and possibly its first railroad. I'm not sure if this is true, but it was said to hit a top speed of 100 miles per hour! 2. Cyclone Racer - While it doesn't seem as thrilling as the other legendary Fred Church coasters, it would probably still be better than most, if not all of today's racers. 1. Bobs at Riverview Park - The perfect combination of swooping curves, slam-turns, and ground-hugging bunny hops.
  7. Smiler, Alton Towers Schwarzkopf Compact Shuttle Loop
  8. Seriously. Those are awful names, especially TC They should have called it "The New Colossus" instead. Six Flags just can't remodel a coaster then call it "New (insert ride's name here), that is just as bad putting some brand/property and adding the words "The Ride" to it. If you ask me I think Six Flags is running low on ideas for new ride names instead recycling old ones (like Goliath) and/or putting the words "Chaos Coaster" to a Super Loop flat ride! Colossus2 The New Colossus is the poem on the Statue of Liberty welcoming newcomers to the United States. The coaster could have been given an American theme, and the name would be a nod to a piece of Americana.
  9. Seriously. Those are awful names, especially TC They should have called it "The New Colossus" instead.
  10. An all-wood loop would probably be ugly. But they could support a loop with a steel lattice like they did with Goliath's lift hill and stall. And loops aren't necessarily high-g maneuvers. If they can do a low-g dive loop, then they could probably do a low-g loop.
  11. This is probably going to disappoint you even more, but since I started riding Cyclone in 2011, it's been very smooth.
  12. My coaster would be a modernized, Topper Track version of the Crystal Beach Cyclone, with airtime hills under the lift hill, and a heartlined trick-track. My flat ride would be a massive S&S Screamin' Swing.
  13. They should have definitely waited an extra year to have two full sides of Colossus. There's no way Six Flags will be able to time the dispatches correctly.
  14. Actually, they got rid of the double-dipping first drop in favor of a miniature version of Millennium Force's drop and overbank.
  15. Even though it's nothing like the classic Cyclone, I'm still really excited for this. Although I still wish they went with the white/blue color scheme like they did for Colossus.
  16. Hopefully not, since the Boss seems to need it much more. Also, Cyclone was built in the '80's.
  17. G-Force at Drayton Manor Traver Giant Cyclone Safety Coaster
  18. I highly doubt they'd spend money to make Cyclone a tamer ride. Especially when they could just build a coaster from scratch for a similar price.
  19. I still don't get why everybody loves the name "Steel Storm". In my opinion it is a really lame and boring name. Wicked Cyclone sounds like a great name. But it's not like it really matters. The ride could be named "Poop-Scented Cyclone" and I wouldn't care. It's an RMC, it's gonna be good. Guys, the new logo just got leaked!
  20. A cyclone is a humid, low pressure system. It can be anything from a tornado to a section of rainstorms. They usually rotate counterclockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere. An anticyclone is the opposite. It's a dry, high pressure system that rotates in the opposite direction of a cyclone.
  21. Here's a prediction - The RMC coaster will be called "The New Colossus", like the Emma Lazarus poem on the Statue of Liberty.
  22. Tickler at Luna Park. Pinfari Z64
  23. He made you delete the pictures? I think that's against the law.
