  1. They already said what the virtual reality coaster pilot is. It's testing VR on an EXISTING coaster. They also never said it would happen at Cedar Point.
  2. If you thought one of the Paramount Parks would be higher than Cedar Point or Knott's, you weren't paying attention. At all. However, the Paramount Parks are a major part of their business. Canada's Wonderland + Kings Island is more than a quarter of EBITDA. That's not small. What it shows is why certain parks get more in terms of new attractions. It's pure dollars and cents. Obviously there's room to grow at the smaller parks on that chart, and they're evaluating that and acting accordingly. Carowinds will likely begin to grow and grow, for instance.
  3. If he's from Toronto as his profile suggests, he's probably already ridden Backlot Stunt. Unless KI's offers something CW's doesn't.
  4. I thought it was good. Made me want to get out and ride Thunderbird pronto! The whole Men vs Women thing didn't really click with me, but it was still fun to see the coaster get so much love. The segment on Steel Dragon 2000 was longer than I expected, and that's also where Robb showed up. Looks like an incredible ride. Falcon's Fury also looked fun, but seeing Kumba for just a few seconds was the highlight for me. I'll probably tune in next week. Obviously there's a ton to nitpick about what they edit and what they talk about but I also understand the target demographic is probably not the enthusiasts that frequent this site.
  5. It's a real deal PC port of the game to iPhone and iPad. No in-app purchases. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rollercoaster-tycoon-3/id1008692660?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D4 $4.99
  6. Vortex has nothing on the defunct Mantis. What a horrible ride that was. I like Vortex quite a bit, and make a point to ride it a few times on every trip. Also, as been discussed in other CF park threads, Cedar Fair had their analyst day yesterday and released figures that are pretty positive for Kings Island all things considered. Kings Island is their #3 park for EBITDA, which shows that it's still a very important park to CF going forward. The following image is for all parks in the CF chain: Now, which of these do you think is hitting KI first? Is one of those planned coasters for KI?
  7. Charlotte is growing at a pretty exceptional rate. Cedar Fair is seeing opportunity there. Kansas City isn't growing near as fast.
  8. I don't believe this will be a VR coaster. It's a marketing scheme so you can "try" the coaster before it's built on your phone.
  9. Kings Island also tested the new app this year with wait times and special offers.

  11. Every roller coaster, including clones, are custom built for their customers. If they want a terrain Giga-coaster, they'll get terrain Giga-coaster. There is literally no reason why this couldn't happen. Why y'all jumping on me? All I said was that, IMHO, I don't see it likely. I would love it, but seeing as the park's last two coasters cost a combined $46 million, I just don't see it. Coasters cost a lot of money. KI is the second most attended seasonal park in the country only behind Cedar Point (and the two are very close anyway) so I'm sure they pull in a ton of money to go with it. Considering Diamondback's popularity, I would not rule a Giga out for a second. There is alot more to profits then guest through a gate. There is hotels (CP), merchandise sold, fast passes, season passes, all season dining, parking, food, games. Profit margins, which CP usually dominates Absolutely those things matter. But getting people through the gate is priority #1. Seeing what kind of rides people ride the most, therefore attracting them to the park, also matters. Hence why I feel a Giga makes sense.

  13. If it is a coaster, does this raise or lower the possibility of a KI giga in 2017?
  14. They need a good looper. Nice b&M floorless or wing rider. Sitdowns they have vortex and FOF. I think they're just fine in that area. Between Flight of Fear, Vortex, Banshee, Firehawk, and even Invertigo.
  15. Where did all of this Giga speculation start? Is it just the next logical step? Also, is 2017 too soon?
  16. The Beast's final helix tunnels. I keep my hands out but not up in the air.
