In other news around Valleyfair. The 2015 park map has been posted! Usually they don't post till April. Take a look and see if you see anything that looks "out of place" or of interest. -

Parks don't add big, record breaking rides because they "deserve" it. They add rides they see fit for the park that will bring in the most money. If Cedar Fair doesn't see Valleyfair as a good investment in 2016, then they won't get a coaster. There are other parks that are heavily rumored to get major investments next year- Cedar Point, Canada's Wonderland, Kings Dominion, even Michigan's Adventure. Remember, Cedar Fair listed Valleyfair as one of three parks in the chain slated for significant expansion. We have already seen what they are doing at Carowinds. All new front entrance, Fury 325 and now a slingshot. They are spending around $35 million just this year alone. The Charlotte market is smaller than the Twin Cities plus there is a ton of competition but yet they received an expansion that nobody, except on the inside, saw coming. Cedar Fair doesn't just throw out statements if there is nothing to them. Yes, plans can change but lets look at what they have already done to Valleyfair. They have massively improved the park for families with Planet Snoopy and Route 76. They have added Picnic Point which can feed up to 3000 meals an hour. They have begun bringing Soak City up to Cedar Fair standards with an 8 million dollar expansion that includes the 13th tallest drop slides in the world. The park is being readied for higher attendances. I'm not saying I know what is coming next to Valleyfair but the writings on the wall. Cedar Fair has seen record profits the last few years because they have a sound business model of making each visit to every park "The Best Day Ever". I truly believe that what ever Cedar Fair does with Valleyfair that a few years from now we will look back and say to ourselves, "we never saw that coming!" I'm going to play the part of the optimist here because it's so much more fun than being pessimistic! -

That's why i like it. When it was installed the front of the park needed that wow factor. Now Valleyfair needs to step up the wow factor with a new coaster. I'd like to see them move the wave to the back of the park somewhere. Maybe move mad mouse and locate it there and make it part of the water park -

That's really interesting! I wouldn't like to see The Wave go but they could move it. Can you tell me how you draw those lines? That really helps to see what your talking about. Thanks -

Nothing wrong with having fun with speculation. Who knows, there may be something to that video. After all, he did quote King's Dominion's GM quite often. Don't let naysayers spoil your fun. I'd rather have fun speculating than people always saying, "Nah, we wont ever get that". If we could go back a few months before Valleyfair announced their 2015 Soak City expansion plans I don't think anybody on this forum would have predicted that Valleyfair was going to get one of the tallest, steepest watersides in the world. Those 90 foot drop slides are almost going to be like jumping off the top of Renegades lift hill. Crazy! I can't wait to go! What could go in its place? I'd like to see Riptide moved not eliminated. After that I'd like to see the northern portion of the games alley torn down (it doesn't get nearly the traffic as the southern portion). So now if you take the space that Scrambler used to be and go all the way over to the bumper cars you can begin to see there is quite a bit of land hear. It would be bordered on the north by Corkscrew and The Wave and on the south by a midway. That is a fair amount of land to locate a coaster. It could even intertwine with The Wave and Corkscrew. I know for a fact that Valleyfair is looking into this area. Mr. Frazier told me the northern portion of the games alley does not get nearly the traffic because people have to make an effort to veer up that way. -

I've seen a lot of discussion about windseekers and I haven't said much about them because I had not been on one until this past October at Carowinds. I will say this, they are a big draw for onlookers and are quite beautiful to watch, especially at night when the LED's light up the night. Riding it was another story. Don't get me wrong it was a nice ride. I have heard from others that it is a very thrilling ride. I didn't get that. It was smooth, quiet and refreshing but not thrilling. I actually carried on a conversation with a guy in the other seat the whole ride. I know there are a lot of windseeker fans on the forum and I'm not trying to rain on your party, but Valleyfair needs more thrilling rides. Would I be disappointed if we got one? Unless it was a substitute for a new coaster, no I would not. I'd rather see a Huss giant Jump ride like they have at Canada's Wonderland. I know it had a lot of maintenance issues but maybe they have worked out the bugs and It's more reliable now. On another note, I am now corresponding via email with Valleyfair's Marketing Director on a Coaster Craze event or something along those lines. We will meet sometime in the next few weeks to discuss possibilities. I'll keep you informed. -

I don't know how to contact them, but if you have a way to let them know, that plan has my vote. Valleyfair with an exciting hypercoaster for only a couple mil sounds like a bargain to me and would be a great strength to the coaster line-up. First of all Mr. Frazier reads posts on facebook and twitter and I'm pretty sure he reads this discussion forum. I mentioned it to him last April and he said he would check out TPR forum. I know he follows them on twitter. Second you can go to cedarfair.com. There are phone numbers that you can get and e-mails to find. I called Cedar Fair and got an email address to send my suggestions to. A couple of months later I received a call from Mr. Frazier asking me to come to the park for a visit. We have been friends ever since. That was over two years ago. I'm not saying that you'll get a call but I do know Mr. Frazier is always looking at suggestions for park improvements. Just make sure your very professional about how you word your emails and make your calls. I wouldn't suggest you call Valleyfair directly. Like I said they only have so much input. The money coasts down the hill from Cedar Fair (pun intended). Good luck, have patience and let us know what responses you get. -

Valleyfair only has so much say on what they receive. Cedar Fair has the majority say in what all the parks in the chain get. Having said that I know for a fact that Mr. Frazier is doing all he can to make sure our next coaster is a unique layout. He has not said what company he would like but I think the majority of us would like to see a B&M coaster. Valleyfair has looked into doing something to increase the ride experience on Wild Thing including replacing the current trains with new open style trains. I believe the sticking point is whether or not it is cost effective. It would take several million to do the engineering and the building of new trains. I'm not sure how much the general public can play a part in making this happen but it doesn't hurt to let Cedar Fair executives know that we would like our nearly 20 year old hyper to get a makeover. -

I really don't think an isolated incident at one park (on a ride model that has been operating all over the world for years) can be used to say that everything from a particular manufacturer is dangerous. True, but I haven't heard a lot of good with Vekoma coasters. -

Hey, did anyone else see the video footage on Screamscape of the accident on a Vekoma Boomerang at Fanstailandia in Santiago Chili? Fortunately, no one was killed but there were injuries. What looks like happened is, on the backwards part of the trip the rear car of the train broke away from the rest of the train. The rear car continued to finish the ride but the rest of the train did not. The accident happened right at the boomerang element. The rest of the train stopped between the loop and the boomerang. It looks like some of the cars derailed and the force of it caused the rear car to break away and completed the boomerang element. Pretty scary. Just more reason why we do not want a Boomerang coaster or really any Vekoma coaster! -

Ok everyone, just heard back from Mr. Frazier. He is going to have his marketing director call me to discuss details about restarting a coaster craze event! What sort of things would you like to see? This is not a for sure thing yet but its a possibility. Respond asap cause i don't know when he/she will call. -

That is an awesome idea! The Thrilling Hour!!! Only at Valleyfair! What a marketing campaign they could have with that. Maybe even have half price concessions! I'd make it 8 P.M. to close every night. Add more music shows and strolling entertainers. I think your on to something here! Propose your idea to Mr. Frazier! -

I don't see Valleyfair getting a clone of anything. Mr. Frazier told me that when we do get a new coaster that he is really pushing corporate for something unique. He would prefer to not have a clone. -

The brake run on wild thing kept most good acts from wanting to perform at the atheater. That along with being out of code led to its demise. It would be cool to still have one though. -

I asked Mr. Frazier pretty much that same question. I mentioned rumors about a dive coaster for CP, and possible coaster rumors for Valleyfair and Michigans Adventure. I asked if he could shed some light on if there is still a possibility of getting a coaster in 2016. He replied back and said "Wow, a lot of rumors" and "No comments from me" Take that how you want, I have some thoughts on it but I'll keep that mum for now
