  1. ^ Same, especially at the end of the day- They REALLY god things moving. Day one towards the morning was a bit rough but thats to be expected. There was a beyond great deal of stacking there, then the thing broke down three times. Never again that day (to my knowledge) though. Each problem was fixed within 15 minutes.
  2. Ahh anaconda looks SO GOOD! I have a huge thing for arrow customs and have been dying to get over there and ride it. Anyone thats been to KD and KI, how would you compare it to vortex in terms of roughness? I don't think Vortex is that bad, but lots of people I know can't seem to stand it. Great report, Thanks!
  3. Banshee. First and Last riders on opening weekend 2014. Park closed at about 7pm, we were on at about 720.
  4. 1920's - Thunderbolt- Kennywood 1930's - __________ 1940's - Comet- Hersheypark 1950's - __________ 1970's - Loch Ness Monster- BG Williamsburg 1980's - Vortex- Kings Island 1990's - Mantis- Cedar Point 2000's - Millenium Force- Cedar Point 2010's - Banshee- Kings Island
  5. Actually now that Im thinking about winged coasters.... What about an S&S free flyer coaster? Something completely new, probably cheaper, etc. Something super different too. Not a looper, but it'd stand out thats for sure. This is all assuming the Water Park expansion and makeups aren't a thing.
  6. Well minus the first drop yeah. Anything like that I think could really compliment lots well, but anything waterpark related is always a good idea. As long as we don't see another batman clone or a crappy standup I'm happy. Sometime like Daemonen at Tivoli would be cool too, anywhere.
  7. Like many of you I'd like to maybe see something like an Intamin Blitz or a Mack Launched ride. I feel like VF isn't in a place to have a 'go big or go home' type scenario with a coaster. Just wouldn't fit in with the park and anything with it. That being said with the height restriction of 275ft in some places which I just learned of, much past wild thing would seem and feel redundant. If they go B&M I'd like to see something like the new Nitro in India. Something smaller but accessible, that will still pack a bit of a punch and stand out. I do feel they're missing a bigger looper. Something like Batman the Dark Night in Six Flags New England would be nice at VF too, in my opinion.
  8. I was thinking the same thing, maybe along the lines of the new 'Alpina Blitz' but on a only slightly larger scale.
  9. It does run three trains with no real brake run in the middle of the ride. The trains are purple, a dark navy blue, and a tealish green which essentially are just different up by where the wheels are covered. Capacity is good with roughly 1650 riders per hour. It was having trouble with breakdowns just a bit on opening day at the beginning, but today was great. The ride ops really keep things moving up there. 32 riders per train I believe.
  10. Just got back from another day out there today. Was one of the last riders on the last train running from opening. It was already so much better when dusk started to come over the day. Cant wait to get out there and ride it at night! Also I was really surprised to like the back more than the front on this. Usually for BM inverts the fronts where its at for me. I loved the front row on this on opening day, but man the back row really blew it out of the water. The heartline/inline roll was so much better in the back. Two thumbs up in the front two, but 3 in the back- loved it.
  11. The picture with banshee's zero G with the fog below the hills is brilliant. Great shots. Was there on opening day and like you think Banshee is one of the best inverts out there. Loved it. Riding at night looks like a real experience. I'll be back for the ERT for gold/platinum pass holders in the coming months. I agree on Bats paint job- really nice. However looking at Bat and Banshee next to each other from Bats loading platform, I didnt like all the colors of both coasters so close together. Keep'em coming!
  12. Great shots, hair is flying EVERYWHERE haha. Always wanted to get out over there sometime. Maybe after I get my degree. Glad you enjoyed the trip!
  13. This year is my first year with a platinum pass to cedar fair parks, so few friends and I went on opening day and took the day off school and WOW did it not disappoint. We were lucky enough to get a front row ride on Banshee around noon, and met Rob later in the day. Got a picture with him . He told me to post more on here, and my other name was inactive form years ago so I'm back here keeping my promise! Grad school has more free time now, and being a half hour away from KI is sure going to have its bonus'. Having ridden most of the BM inverts out there in the US, I really like Banshee quite a bit. Two huge thumbs up. Loved the que and the faster lift and as I'm not super big on the whole BM pre-drop thing, I liked the fact that this wasn't on the ride. My favorite BM invert in the US right now is still Alpengeist but I found this to be quite fun, especially with the theming in the que and a few random headstones down by the batwing elements. The new restraints I really liked although after a few rides I can imagine that my collarbones would be a bit tender, just like on GateKeeper from last year. I like the compliment that Banshee adds to KI- seems like the one thing they lacked was a 'big' looper. FOF is one thing, and vortex, but they're a bit more compact in terms of elements. They have all the other bits. Bigger BM hyper, Beast, Arrow Customs, etc. I think banshee being that token 'large looper' in the park really completes the last little piece of the puzzle, at least to me. I also loved the fact it doesn't have a cobra roll, because if its one element I can live without, its those. To be Banshee seems to have a bit of a feel to Alpengeist in terms of size of the first half of the circuit, and somewhat Montu in terms of elemental pacing. Loved the ride, as did my two best friends that came with us. The free shirts were always a bonus Also not to be weird but if theres anyone in OH with passes and would like to go someday, I'll be here until may 9th and back august 13th for school- otherwise I'm at a music festival in Michigan. Let me know if anyone would like to go! Nice to be back here. It's needed. Devin Cobleigh Morrison
