  1. On the fourth of July I was at Kings Island and a woman in line for The Bat was telling her young daughter about how "your feet used to dangle on this ride" . If only.
  2. I really like Invertigo and Wicked Twister, but I haven't been on Wicked Twister in quite a while so I can't accurately rank one above the other.
  3. I much prefer theme parks. I like getting lost in the moment.
  4. I seem to remember more than one actual new coaster being in their original proposal, which is why I usually get confused. But I think the new tube slide complex went where one of the coasters was originally planned to go.
  5. This is always confusing to me. Are T2 and Twisted Twins the two new coasters for the next two years? I don't really consider them new seeing that they're both over 15 years old.
  6. It may not be as popular with the enthusiast crowd, but when I ask pretty much anyone else what their favorite ride at the park is, it's almost always Flight of Fear, even over Diamondback (although Banshee has taken the throne for some). It usually has one of the longest waits in the park.
  7. I second the White Water Canyon comment (even though it isn't really a rollercoaster). It seems even longer when you're walking back soaked.
  8. Am I the only one who thinks Flight of Fear is terrible? The launch is fun, but the building isn't even near pitch-black and there are no special effects, so it is pointless to have it indoors (other than the fact that it can operate in the rain). The MCBR pretty much brings the train to a full stop, so the rest of the ride is taken at a snails pace. Overall, I'd say Vortex is FAR better than Flight of Fear. While it may not be completely dark, it's dark enough to disorient you for the first few inversions until you level out up at the top, especially if you're unfamiliar with the layout. I still think it's fun.
  9. I do feel like a lot of the park is a work in progress and the main goal of the opening was just that. To actually open the park and make it presentable to the public. Hopefully we'll see it continuously shaping up over the summer.
  10. I visited briefly on Memorial Day. The crowds weren't that bad, at least in the front of the park. Waited less than an hour for Lightning Run and that was with it breaking down for about 10-15 minutes. Don't expect to get a season pass processed quickly though.
  11. Chang - Kentucky Kingdom
  12. I'm understanding about Lightning Run. There isn't a whole lot to work with. There's some room to the left right inside the sign that's landscaping for the Tin Lizzies. I'm not sure if they could utilize beneath the station like some coasters do. If so, that would keep most of the line in shade. As for Fearfall though, the area surrounding the entrance is wide open pavement and the ride has maybe one row. There really isn't an excuse to not have a more organized line.
  13. Whizzer - Six Flags Great America
  14. I haven't spent a full day in the park yet. I visited for about an hour and a half one day to ride Lightning Run and Fearfall. However, I noticed that many of the rides didn't have enough turnstiles in the wait to hold the crowd. Lightning Run and Fearfall both had lines spilling out into the pathways. I hope they do something to fix this soon.
  15. Twisted Twins/Sisters - Kentucky Kingdom
  16. I just got my season pass processed today! The park looks amazing and the staff is super friendly (a huge improvement from the Six Flags era). The park employees were there in full force training and Lightning Run was testing with both trains .
  17. It's sort of disappointing that the Thanksgiving section is really the only area where a new coaster could fit. A B&M Flyer or Invert would be a great fit for an eagle themed coaster in the Fourth of July section of the park .
  18. I seem to remember several years ago a local Meijers selling them at a discount. I'm not sure if they still do it, but usually there are similar vendors like Meijers or Kroger who sell tickets cheaper than gate price. Kroger has such a deal with King's Island. As for parking and food, unless you are staying on site, you'll likely have to suck it up and pay full price, unfortunately, since it isn't really feasible to leave the resort for lunch.
