Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I stayed at the Motel 6 in Milan last year and it was really clean and fairly modern. I was really impressed considering how cheap it was -
At the park today, we got here around 5ish Yolo was abt 30-45... slow a$$ crew X2 was down so we waited a bit and was nearly a walk-on. BTW had the smoothest best ride I've ever had on X2. Inside seat, last car, on the left. The fire singed me a bit at the end though lol Batman was a walk-on, they let us get back 2 back rides since no one was coming aboard. Green Lantern was about 25 mins, intense per usual Twisted Colossus broke down twice while we were in line, plus someone barfed, so what should've been a 30 min wait ended up an hour. We dueled on both sides though In like for Yolo again as I type lol. Side note, TC actually has more than 18 airtime moments if you're in the very back. Blue side: 1.First pre-lift hop 2.Second pre-lift hop 3.First drop 4.Small hop 5.Hill into Hi-five 6.Hill out of Hi-Five 7.Small hop 8.Hill under top gun 9.First double-up 10.Second double-up 11.Outward banked hill Green side: 12.First drop 13.Small hop 14.Hill into Hi-five 15.Hill out of Hi-five 16.2nd part of double down 17.Hill after top gun 18.First double up 19.2nd double up 20.Hill before brake section

Launched El-Loco

I heard a rumor that two U.S. parks bought these for 2016, I hope it's true because they look fun. -
If Disney were in charge of the Revolution coaster, the white paint would look glossy and brand new. But I kinda like that it looks worn out.... like a Star Wars X-wing fighter. I agree. I actually like Revolution the way it is. Some coasters look good with old paint. I loved Flight Deck's old faded black paint job (up north), I thought it fit the whole 80s fighter jet motif and it was pretty bad A$$. I was disappointed when they painted it red to match the 49ers, but I seem to be in the minority there.I felt the same way when they painted Batman blue. The grey color seemed so much more ominous and fitting for a Batman theme.

It might also have something to do with their operating costs being significantly higher. That said though, I bet they have a significantly higher profit margin, I just don't think it's coming from admission. I agree, I mean the fact that Disney repaints lamp posts, benches, pathways, etc; every night is a microcosm of their operating expense and the detail that goes into maintaining their parks.

The crowds at KK are obnoxious, far worse than any other park I've been to. But yeah, Flash Passes really aren't cheap, but they're a "luxury" item. If you don't want to pay for a Flash Pass, go to the park on a day that will have smaller crowds. Problem solved! Exactly! I can understand complaints about parking rates, food, admission etc; because those are necessary things at an amusement park. Flashpasses aren't necessary, plus if they were cheaper more people would buy them and it wouldnt be much of an advantage

2014 Theme Park Attendance Report

Glad to see Raging Waters in the top 20 U.S. water parks, grew up going there as a kid -
Can't wait to see where the next 4D Free Spin gets installed. Seems like a hit so far. In stark contrast to GL which isn't well loved. I personally like GL because it's so aggressive. At any given point you feel like you can be thrown from the ride. It's such a rush to me, especially at night. The pain kinda comes with the territory unfortunately

2014 Theme Park Attendance Report

Crazy how regional theme parks in the U.S. haven't shown much growth in the last decade (perhaps even a decline) but Disney and Universal just keep tearing it up!! You'd think it'd be the opposite with the turn down in the economy, since regional parks are much more economical -
