I really like how some of the big dogs in the hotel game have mid-range, more affordable versions (Hyatt Place, Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Holiday Inn Express). They're great values and have a lot of the same high standards -

Those flavors though -
No, no one has done a Six Flags 2017 Prediction Thread yet because... Well, it's Six Flags, and it will probably go something like this: Those parks who don't have a Larson Loop yet will be getting one for 2017. Those parks without a Justice League: Battle For Metropolis will be getting one for 2017. Lastly, those parks who already have both Larson Loops, and JLBFM will be getting a S&S "Freefly" coaster. #EndOfNonExistentThread The interesting part of your sardonic post was that you failed to realize Six Flags had as much variety (if not more) in their 2016 additions as did Cedar Fair. Six Flags in 2016 added: RMC Iron Horse S&S 4D Revolution refurb VR headsets Zamperla giant discovery Zamperla endeavor Larson Loopers Zamperla Disko Justice Leagues Larson tilt-a-whirl Chance falling star Flying Scooters Bugs Bunny Boom Town Water park expansions Nice try though...

They'll probably just do what MM did with Twisted Colossus. Longest, fastest etc hybrid coaster. These parks will find ways to market anything lol The real question is this for 2017 or '18? My guess would be 2017. Yes the Giant took 18 months but that was when RMC was working out of a like 1000 sq foot room. They're much bigger now and capable of multiple rides in a season. -

I think this is an important fact that people rarely touch on!! To me that should be the biggest selling point for CP Iron Horsing MS -
Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?

A GCI retrack of Mean Streak would probably be the lamest news this year. GCI retracks of Ghostrider and The Lengend made perfect sense because those were once top 10 rides that just needed some TLC. Mean Streak?? Not so much -
Visited the park for the first time on 7/29 Wasn't too crowded, the longest I think we waited was 30 mins for Poltergeist which was running one train. Love the layout of the park, the setting next to the rocks is incredibly unique. Also love the pathways with traffic lights and paved roads. Batman was the first ride and we were both pleasantly surprised by it. A lot more intense than I was expecting, and every single ride was so different from the other. I find it interesting people complain about the length, I think it's a perfect length..any longer and you'd have guests complaining I'm sure. The ride is way too intense to be 4000ft long lol Iron Rattler was amazing as expected, great airtime and it felt the fastest overall out of the RMC coasters I've patroned. That being said I actually preferred a few other RMCs over it. That's not saying much though because each one of them is amazing. The crew was probably THEE fastest I've seen at ANY Six Flags park. One train was already up the lift before the other hit the brake run. Awesome operations. Got our credit on Pandemonium, nothing different from any of the other versions of this ride. Goliath was my first mirror-image Batman clone, it definitely felt awkward doing all the elements in the reverse direction. Still fun, still intense though. Road Runner Express was a fun ride, very fast for a mine train, caught me a bit of guard. Fun nonetheless Superman Krypton Coaster FAR exceeded my expectations, so much different than all the other floorless coasters I've ridden. So good it replaces Bizarro as my #1 floorless coaster. We ended up riding without the VR because we didn't know that there was a 3:30-5:30 period where they don't operate with VR. We came back at 5:30 and the line was crawling so we skipped VR and got more laps on Batman. Bugs Bunny White Water Rapids was the biggest mistake of the day. I usually don't do water rides because I'm not a fan of getting my clothes/shoes wet but my friend convinced me to go. For some reason our boat kept flooding with water so my shoes and socks were completely soaked much to my dismay. However the ride was decent, loved the castle queue. Poltergeist-Nothing different from when I rode Joker's Jinx except Poltergeist makes considerably less noise, which is to my dismay because I love the sound the older Premier launchers make, so loud and imposing. They had one train ops, which was probably the only negative thing I can say about the entire park. Fun day in San Antonio, we've been wanting to do the Texas parks for a while and glad we finally did. Here's a link to my SFOT trip report if you're interested http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20355&start=8150

Brief trip report from 7/27-7/28 Both days were plagued with ride closures due to scattered thunder storms, but they cleared in enough time for us to ride what we wanted. NTaG-Best ride in the park and my favorite RMC. Not sure why this ride gets mixed reviews, I found the ride forceful with plenty of ejector. A bit rough in the back seat but smooth as glass in the front. Pandemonium-Nothing special, if you've ridden one spinner you've ridden them all. Mr. Freeze-Been wanting to ride this ever since I discovered RCDB in the late 90's. It's a solid ride, great lauch, awesome forces, probably my 2nd fave in the park. Runaway Mountain-THEE surprise of the park!! I thought it would just be an average indoor family coaster. Wow, what a punch this ride packs and completely in the dark!! 3rd fave in the park. Runaway Mine Train and Mini Mine Train-Had more fun for some reaason on Mini Mine. Both great family attractions, the park is extremely well rounded IMO as far as variety of attractions go. Titan-Do I dare say SFMM actually takes better care of their Giovanola hyper? I was shocked at how rough and rattly Titan was compared to Goliath which is still one of the smothest rides in the park. The extra helix did nothing for me except make me dizzy. One ride was enough even though it was a walk on Shockwave VR-My first VR experience was extremely pleasant. Enjoyed it 1000%, though wouldn't wait more than 20mins for it. Judge Roy Scream-Fun, nothing spectacular. Got a few small pops of air Batman-Same as the others, the queue and station however are very different from the clones I've ridden thus far. Much bigger station area than the ealier models. The ride closed right after we got our credit due to thunder/torrential down pour. Justice League-Was actually our very first ride as almost everything was shut down when we arrived due to thunder. I thought the ride was great, all the effects worked (lol), and loved the movement of the ride vehicle in correspondence with the screens. Didn't get to ride La Vibora, was struggling with motion sickness and the extreme humidity (I'm from California, our heat is much dryer lol). So I sat out while my friend got his credit, he said he actually enjoyed it. All in all great park with a lot of charm. Friendly but extremely slow and unenthusiastic staff Part 2 of our Texas trip SFFT TR here http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=46317&p=1724551#p1724551

I love name Mystic Timbers -
Te If I remember correctly, Cedar Fair does have a large chunk of debt coming due in 2018. Close to $250 million or so, with larger chunks due in 2020-2021. Could be the reason for what seems to be a lack of investment dollars in park attractions so far for 2017. The interest you could save on paying down that debt could probably pay for a future coaster itself. Glad I don't carry that debt on my balance sheet! How did they acquire all of that debt? I can't think of anything recent that would have cost that much, other than maybe the paramount park purchasing in 2006. I dont think big businesses use liquid cash for cap expenses, so I'm assuming liabilites must be paid before a certain amount of time (like when u have 18 mos no interest at Best Buy) before crazy interest accrues. I'm no financial expert by any means tho
