  1. What do you mean? You mean to tell me that I'm supposed to like roller coasters too? What are you trying to do? Convert me to ALL of your beliefs???? I'm just playing. <> Oh, and Thank you for being able to have a civil conversation about this topic. You just gained a ton of respect from me. Too many times do i have this conversation with it boiling down to "I'm right, now deal with it." Thank you. Rob
  2. Yes, I know the rhetoric of how the bible came to be (I went to a catholic high school). Out of curiosity, would you believe me if I wrote a book and said that it was gods mesage to everyone? I know I wouldnt, and i feel that only fanatics would beleive it (In this day and age that is). I just find it hard to beleive that god told someone what to write, and now everyone beleives that they were the messengers of god. (Probably because i dont beleive in a god, or maybe its because i find it hard to beleive that people would believe such a claim today). As for jesus, I dont beleive that he was the son of god. I beleive that he existed, and i believe that he was a great man (did many good things for humanity), and i beleive that he was also very charismatic and had a huge amount of influence. However, I also beleive that he was crazy (again, because i dont beleive in god). Its just like someone saying today that they were the son of god, and then holding themselves up in a midwestern ranch against federal agents, getting killed, and claiming he died for our sins. I just find it hard to beleive that today, so how can i beleive that it happend in the past. I dont have anything against religion. I am an athiest, I am straight (despite what you may have thought from my arguments... ), and I respect everyones point of view and ideology. I believe that everyone needs somethign to beleive in to find comfort. Most people chose religion, many different kinds of religion, but religion non-the less (you did, and thats fine). I feel that believing in something is comforting, i know my beliefs bring me comfort, but they cant bring everyone comfort. Its kind of like an aquired taste, like coffee. Whew, sorry about the rant guys....
  3. I agree with you completely. I wish there were more people out in the world with that kind of perspective and point of view. Rob
  4. Sorry crispy, got a little carried away. Please dont hate me. I really am a good person. Despite what some of you have been told about athiests... Rob
  5. Ok, if god is all powerful and all forgiving, who cares what the bible says? Its just a bunch of peoples interpretations of what god "said" to them anyway. God didnt actually write the thing. Also, if the point of being a christian is about your one on one relationship with god, thats between YOU and GOD, not YOU and the CHURCH. The church is not more wise than god. What im trying to say here is that you contradicted yourself. You say that homosexuals wont go to heaven, but then you say that its all about your relationship with god, and last time i checked, your relationship with god is more important than what the bible says so long as you know your relationship is true. So how can you say that a homosexuals relationship with god isnt true? How do you know? Your not that person. Rob "Playing devils advocate (sorry for the pun)" D
  6. Bravo Spike, Keep up the good fight...
  7. Ok, first of all, people that say they are athiest know there is no god, just like people who are religious know that there is a god. However, if we just flat out and say that there is no god, it would get everyone all riled up. I know that most of the athiests i know are accepting of other peoples beliefs, I know i am. I beleive that everyone needs something to believe in, something that brings them comfort. I accept that. Most people chose a religion, I have chosen the lack there of. It is often less blunt, and more tactful in a conversation to simply say that you dont believe in something, rather than saying it does or doesnt exist. Its also far more constructive to avoid phrases like "I am right, and you are wrong, and thats what it boils down to." Well, yes, we all know that. Thats because if none of us knew that our beliefs were right over other peoples, then no one could believe in anything. So, if anything comes out of this rant, just try to accept what other people believe in, or dont believe in. However, I would agree in your phrase that agnostic is more appropriate for most of the people who claim to be athiests. I have spend many hours thinking about my beliefs, and I know that there is no god (just like you know that there is). :dork:
  8. What makes a god ligitimate? If you believe in it, it is ligitimate to you. As for beliefs... I am a full blown athiest. Not agnostic, Athiest. Rob "ready to take flak" D
  9. I like the golf analogy. Thats good. Props. Rob
  10. Thats pretty cool how they incorporate the coaster around the time warp. Do they have an opening date for this baby yet? I hope to ride before i go away for an internship (if i even get one). Or else i will have to wait til october. Rob
  11. Destroid - Existence Woot.
  12. Anyone ever had Vegimite? MMmmmmm Yummy...
  13. I live near SFNE, and I must say that the best part of that coaster is the zero g roll. I like it. I wont wait more than 30 minutes to ride, but its fun. Now, Alepengeist on the other hand, I rode that in the back seat twice back to back, and let me tell you, i think a blood vessel in my head broke. I had the BIGGEST headache i had ever had. Makes me want to go back. As for forceless B&M's, i must say that may least fav B&M is Apollo's Chariot. Man, that is such a boring ride. Are all B&M Hypers like that???? Rob "Prefer Intamins" D
  14. Well, my favs are as follows Imperative Reaction VNV Nation Assemblage 23 Covenant Razed In Black Enya KMFDM Too many good songs to name. Most of those are EBM, or Industrial. Except Enya. Enya rocks!!!! Rob "No one else like my music" D
  15. Wow, i surprised to see a song from Sash on there. I havent heard anything from that group in years. Made me go back and pull out all my old techno stuff. So now im listening to Demon Vs Heartbreaker - You are my High. But i usually listen to Gothic Industrail...
  16. So, out of curiosity, when did you all start getting interested in riding coasters? For me, the first coaster that i rode, and liked, was a vekoma SLC (Gve me a break, it was the first year it was open, and i dont remember it being all that rough). That was in high school sometime. Since then, i have gotten extermely involved and love em... Rob
  17. Gasp!!!!! I wouldnt even dream of buying an automatic. If i had a choice about it, my car now would be a manual. But what can i complain for. It was free... I even learned how to drive in a stick shift, something thats not too comon around here anymore. And I'm with you, i would totally special order my car to be a stick shift. Rob
  18. What are video games????
  19. Steel: #1: Superman Ride of Steel (SFNE). Just cuz. #2: Storm Runner (Hershey). It rocks dude! #3: Dueling Dragons (IOA). How could you not like this one? #4: Alpengeist (BGW). Intense, gave me a headache... #5: Apollo's Chariot (BGW), because Fabio got hit with a bird on it! Woodies: #1: Boulder Dash (Lake Compounce). Need I say more? #2: Lightning Racers (Hershey). Just cool... Just cool. #3: Comet (Hershey). Long, and old. #4: Thunderbolt (SFNE). You know, this baby just has a lot of nostalgia associated with it. It was my first coaster ever. #5: Cyclone (SFNE). Because i havent ridden enough woodies yet!
  20. Well, my homepark is Riverside Park. To those of you in new england, thats now called SFNE. But i think they should have named it Six Flags Riverside when they bought it. It just has a better ring to it, dont you think? Oh Well. Rob
  21. I have been on Superman Ride of Steel like 3 times when its broken down. I have also been on Big Bad Wolf on the second lift hill for like 15-20 munutes. Dont know what happend, but it was a long wait... But really, those are really the only ones worth noting. (I think i was on Kraken when it broke down, but i could be imagining that... :dork: Rob
  22. April/May, I will be heading down to New Jersey and Penn to go to Dorney, maybe Hershey, and deffinatly SFGA. As for the summer, I have no idea, it all depends on where I get an internship, so that could mean florida (At Kennedy Space Center), St Louis or Southern California (Both Boeing). So thats debatable. As for Sept-October, I will be in Cleveland, which means I will be able to Cedar point for the first time. Looking forward to that. Rob
  23. You know, geometry is full of proofs. I really dont know why. It appears that all geometry teachers make you do proofs. Of course, I think learning any math is hard, no matter what it is. But once you know it, it seems easy. To me at least... Wait until you have to learn Differential Equations, then you will wish you were back in the good ol days where algebra sucked. Those are my two cents... 8)
  24. Well, if it doesnt factor very well, which in this case it does, you can use the quadratic formula also. x = (-b +- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/ 2a Where p would be x in this case. La la la, Rob "I hate math, so why do I want to be an engineer" D
