Hi all, My family and I are planning our first visit to the park this summer and we were wondering if there is anything good or bad about the park we need to know. If any locals or regulars to the park could help us out that would be great!

I would think it won't be *too* bad but it'll probably still be somewhat crowded. Hit Valravn at 9:00am and go to millennium and Maverick from there... at least that is what I would do.

Eh, I wouldn't say every year, there have been plenty of years (including last year) where some of their star attractions didn't even begin testing until a few days before opening (or after). On average it's a mixed bag, but the mild winter and the flurry of ride activity the past couple weeks has made it pretty apparent they got a head start on preseason testing this year. That said, I definitely agree that this weekend the weather/wind is going to be the driving factor in terms of "operational reliability". But, that should always be in the forefront of anyone visiting CP considering how temperamental the weather and rides are on the peninsula. Point of reference... last year for pass holder preview day millennium was one of the rides scheduled to be open but unfortunately they were still wrapping up testing for state approval. It did open on the next day (opening day) but they still hadn't put the yellow train on the track yet and it continued to run with only 2 trains until right around Coastermania

Since I'm sure you all love seeing my posts right now... Between the reviews that the ride is getting and after taking a look at the POV, Valravn is exceeding my already high expectations. It looks great! Can't wait to ride it for myself on Friday!

Does anybody on here have a collection of pins like the modest one I have below? If so post a pic a maybe give a quick run down of what you have! My collection of 29 pins... hopefully that'll grow this summer! Lol

We've had this conversation on this forum before. Just because you guys feel something different than I do while riding GK doesn't make what I say I'm feeling while on GK wrong. We all have our own opinions. Deal with it.

I always thought GKs big air time hill provided really good almost ejector air time if you're in the front seat on a hot summer day

I like the fact that the ride wait sign only goes up to an hour so they're expecting that the ride ops will be pumping trains out of there like there's no tomorrow

I dislike his videos as much as the next guy but I mean come on people... hating on him on TPR is a little overboard and just like PixelRush said this isn't the RCS thread. Let the kid share his enthusiasm for roller coasters and amusement parks the way he wants, even if it isn't the most reliable or educated, while we share our enthusiasm here on TPR in our own weird ways.

Budget IMO is not an issue. And well...unfortunately my folks are a little bit older, so yes, they might like to go back to their room during the day. I would at least like them to be able to if they want to. Meanwhile, if they do, me and my brother will probably go run around the park and do what we want. I am probably just going to accommodate them and make up the difference cost wise. I don't care, this is probably never going to happen again. My moms biggest gripe is that there's "No breakfast?" included if you stay at Breakers. Is that true? I told her I'd go get her some bagels and make her coffee if it allows us a early entry hour into the park! lol. "Suck it up ma!" No I don't believe that there's free breakfast at Breakers... however, there is a Starbucks and a Perkins inside the hotel
