  1. Hey everyone I was just told to tell you guys that Valleyfair will be doing a commercial shoot on some of their coasters this coming weekend (Saturday through Monday I believe) and they were looking for extras that would be able to ride the roller coasters in the morning this weekend. You have to be 18 and up to ride without a parents permission but if you are younger you need to have your parents sign a form since you will be included in footage that may be used. If you are interested contact MHehl@valleyfair.com That's pretty much it guys, I hope you are able to ride!
  2. im not sure if anyone has noticed but there seems to be some activity in the amphitheater. The curtain is up and I think there are various boards on the stage. That's just what I saw though. If I were a betting man, I would bet a larson flyers goes where those markers are in 2016
  3. I'm pretty sure there has never been an arrow mine train to eurofighter train ever. The last thing we would need would be OTSR's
  4. I'm quite impressed with how much they are investing in the new Haunt maze considering that it is only going to be used 14 nights a year. I also agree that High Roller needs to get a fresh coat of paint soon. In addition to that, these are a few other improvements I wish they would make: -More charging stations throughout the park. Caribou Coffee is currently the only place at VF where I can charge my phone. -Another indoor sit-down restaurant. Coasters and Chickies & Petes are the only ones the park has and they could use another one. -New entrance plaza. Even though I like the charm that the current entrance has, it's a bit too small for a modern amusement park. Would be nice if they could get an entrance plaza like the one at Cedar Point or Kings Island. -Updated restrooms. Some of them seem like they haven't been upgraded in years. -New coat of paint on Steel Venom. It is starting to look a little bleached. You can also charge your phone at Chicken Shack, but the outlets are placed in really odd spots.
  5. I don't see the arcade going anywhere soon because it is used as a haunt building but if they were to remove it and combine that land with the former land that tilter sat on it would create potentially a new area for a small coaster. It would of course have to traverse the Minnesota Valley Railway tracks and tunnel but it could be designed to be a really cool themed area! From what I have heard from scare actors in haunt they aren't going to use that building this year since Chateau is being moved to the new building. (the facade looks great by the way)
  6. I'm sure my word choice was correct. The posters when debating presuppose (an assumption made before an argument or course of action) that Valleyfair will be recieving some sort of addition. Anyways, enough with the word choice. Has anyone ever considered the possibility of the arcade being removed? I noticed it's not very popular, and it wouldn't surprise me if they removed it in the future.
  7. If you look through Valleyfair's timeline there's a pretty consistent pattern of something being added every year. When I say "something" that can vary from a roller coaster to a food location. So that's why many of the people in this forum believe Valleyfair will be receiving something. It isn't a given, but because of past history many people have that presupposition.
  8. Partly my point! But i dont think your accurate. Soak city expansion was about 7 mil. C. W. And K. D. Both got large waterpark expansions. C.G.A. got planet Snoopy. Valleyfair's planet Snoopy was 9 mil. Dont forget C. P. got rougarou which wasnt cheap. The largest additions will not always translate into higher revenue. But it was partly my point when taken in light of valleyfair being earmarked for significant expansion. by the way, what is daft? What is wrong with mere speculation? It's not like garyman is being unrealistic, and it's not like he's saying we're for sure getting a coaster. He's just saying it's a step in the right direction. If you don't like listening to people "foam" if that is what you want to call speculation and hopefulness, why are you still posting in this forum? Anyways, to me it doesn't seem like anything major is going to happen for 2016. I would think if Excalibur is to be torn down this year we would have seen survey markings and at least an announcement. My guess is a general improvement year with new food locations and possible a small flat ride such as a larson flyers. I wouldn't say that is a justified word to describe what garyman is doing Phantom, lighten up.
  9. Thank you so much for the advice! This will be my second time going and I will be staying at one of the early entry in-park hotels (I started an annual tradition of going to Cedar Point that I hope to continue for many years to come) and the reason why I'm asking is I didn't do my last trip very well (I missed Wicked Twister, Maxair, Cedar Creek Mine ride, and I didn't bring enough souvenir money ) Thank you so much again for the advice! I hope to come work there once I'm old enough to stay at the dorms (Valleyfair is a great place to work at don't worry, I just want to try working at CP once.)
  10. Hi everyone, you might be wondering why a valleyfair fanboy is in the "Kings Island Discussion Thread" but I am going to Kings Island in August for the first time, and I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations to get the most out of my visit there (best places to sit on rides, rides to hit first, etc.) Any help would be appreciated, thanks
  11. This is kinda out of the blue but I'm planning on going to Cedar Point this August, and I was wondering if you all had any recommendations (best seats to ride in, which rides to go on first, etc.) because I would like to get the most out of my visit there. I will be staying for two days. Thanks! I can't wait to go!
  12. I think the Midway Stage is unlikely because of the fact that they bought a pretty nice sign for it last year, and it is used pretty frequently.
  13. When you apply for a construction permit, the cost of the permit is often based on the estimated total cost of the project. The permit did not cost $100,000, but that was the estimated cost of the building. Also, the haunt building was built this year so I believe that would fall under a 2015 expenditure and not a 2016. I think the Flyers would look great in the old scrambler spot. I haven't been to the park since it moved (going the first weekend in September), but it seems like that would be a lot of unnecessary concrete in that area. I'm not sure if anything will go into scrambler's old location due to the fact they purchased a sign that says "Midway Stage" just last year. The Midway Stage is actually used quite often. I think a more plausible location where flyers would be able to fit would be: Tilt-a-Whirl's old location and where skyscraper used to be. Take that as you may, but that's just my two-cents.
  14. From what I heard about the dirt near the dorms is that they do that every couple years by pushing dirt in certain places to prevent flooding.
  15. I just realized that Tilt-a-Whirl has been in 3 different locations
  16. I don't think any Park Official would actually reveal corporate secrets to people who discuss theme parks for a hobby. It's like telling a robber the code to a safe
  17. After early morning rainstorms, and during light showers are the best times to go in my opinion, the park is literally empty at times.
  18. According to Captain Unknown a few pages ago the train is closed for the season due to an engine blowout.
  19. Went to Nic U yesterday to ride Danny Phantom's Ghost Zone one last time. Lines were pretty much walk-on. I still can't figure out how to fully flip on Shell shock, although I did go upside down once They did have a balloon entrance for the closing of the Danny Phantom ride which was a nice touch. It'll be interesting to see how fast it is taken down. '
  20. I really hope they put in something nice to replace Danny Phantom's Ghost Zone, I will actually miss this ride, not really for the thrills but more for the sentimental value. I'm surprised MOA is still demolishing/adding attractions even after the 20 million dollar investment they just announced.
  21. Very sorry again, for some reason it posted again when I tried editing one of my posts.
  22. Sorry for the posts I'm not sure why it posted so much, again very sorry for the inconvenience. As a reply to Phantom's post, I'm not only a guest, I also work there. So if I see anything like a ride op neglecting to properly take care of lose article hazard, it would be my responsibility to make sure that proper authority is notified since safety is taken very seriously just like Top Drag said.
  23. from what I hear its moving to london terrors old location I just hope Hellside isn't partially inside. It would totally kill the outdoorsy feel of the maze
