Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

^^Yep. That's what it's really all about - I'm a sucker for small details that just add to the experience. I miss those old recordings of Pat and Dan after the park closed if anyone knows what I'm talking about. -

Exciting! Hopefully we will start seeing track be installed on the launch portion soon. -
Exactly! I wish the park were getting a kick-ass RMC instead with something like a crazy giant steep drop, airtime, and some insane large inversion, maybe even a tunnel or other unique elements. Oh, wait a minute. Yep. An amazing RMC already happened. Time to move on to other things. I honestly don't think this is going to be bad - we'll just have to wait until this opens to see. Robb, Elissa & KT seemed to love it when he rode the prototype last winter.

Honestly, we cant expect to get the most expensive B&M coaster or something that's going to be the best ride in the world. You guys are getting something that I wish my hometown park was getting (SFGAm - I know we got Goliath, but we are getting literally nothing this year), so I would just be happy with what you have and try to make the most of it. I really want to ride this thing! Just have to figure out a way to get there Oh, and Thunderbird is boring? I thought I was a tough critic . . .

^Maybe. But the testing couldn't be done until it gets warmer, so there would be no point to complete it that early unless they have to do a lot of electrical work. -
I really don't see a problem with loops. maybe there's some sort of design issue I'm overlooking, but I too think a loop on an RMC would be fantastic if it could be done. They've done a dive loop, so ireally don't see why they couldn't do a full vertical one. I'm not an engineer or a coaster designer of course, but vertical loops create much higher positive g forces than barrel rolls and zero g rolls (by name). Goliaths dive loop is lower g because if the way it transitions to be inverted. Look, a vertical loop may be cool, but all I'm saying is that Alan Schikle has directly stated that any high g maneuvers will not be seen on any of RMC coasters. Yes. I believe it was at IAPPA a few years ago when he said that he didn't want to make the elements so intense that anyone would question riding, but make the elements look scary (barrel rolls with wood structure, etc.), and I honestly think that's the right direction. I mean, how fun would a vertical loop be? I would prefer a stall or crazy Zero - G like they are doing now than one of the first upside-down maneuvers created --the vertical loop. I wouldn't be opposed to it if they ended up doing one though.

While I would welcome it, I sort of doubt that they change anything with their woodies. The people that go to Holiday world seem to LOVE them, so if it 'aint broke don't fix it. Also, HW seems to be very dedicated to maintaining their woodies and keeping them smooth, so I'm sure they are keeping it that way. -

It's not like the parks are fifty miles away . . . I'm sure both park's attendance will be higher due to the new coasters, though. -
^^Oh, didn't think of that one. Let's just hope they behave and don't ruin a great ride like this by tossing objects into the other train when those interactions happen. hopefully the ops can be really strict towards no loose articles so that something like that doesn't happen. Either that or the State won't let the sides run simultaneously. Seriously through, that would be really sad.

^^Yep, and while were at it, Let's count Zumanjaro as three coasters. I mean those are actually more like a coaster than a Super Loop! Who Agrees? Anyways though, it could have been a lot worse. At least we are getting something and not "Maison Rouge" or "Buccaneer Beach". Heck, my home park is Great America, and were getting no thrill ride at all. Staying positive about the other rides is a great thing to do. Twisted colossus, Wicked cyclone, Batman? All of those rides look awesome! Despite the super Loops being marketed as coasters, and the overabundance of them, this could be the best year for Six Flags in a long time! Oh, and the Super Loops are actually quite fun - reserve judgment until you ride - you'll probably like it.

^I don't know, I just think we would like to see it race, and hope SFMM doesn't blow it after a large investment. But no, the earth won't stop if it doesn't race - it's still going to be a sick coaster. And yes, I would love to see a reaction of one of the protesters! that would be hilarious. By the way, I just put in a message to the park asking about the station configuration - so hopefully they will get back soon.
