  1. ^What, paper mache Kraken is leaving? No! Actually I'm sure they'll replace it with something cool if not they'll make the area look great but I still like it. Glad to see the rapids ride has a 42" height restriction. When I first heard rumors of a rapids ride I wasn't very excited since I'm not a huge fan of rapids rides because I don't like getting completely soaked (someone build one a water park already will ya!) but this looks like fun. I mean an 85 foot drop is pretty significant and should feel pretty wild spinning in a rapids raft.
  2. Wow, $200 for a Tron fastpass that's insane.
  3. Sometimes I wish the Fastpass system was just everyone gets like 4 passes per day to use anytime they want at any attraction they want. Sometimes the fastpass lines will be longer, some times they will be shorter, some people would use them in the morning, some at night, some throughout the day. I would be interesting. But yeah if tons of guests are selling passes and they can't control it then Disney might as well sell them instead.
  4. That's a pretty awesome media invite package. I still think this section is going to be absolute stunning, even if the big E-ticket attraction is kind of a mediocre screen based simulator. I'm really excited about the Navi river journey, it's a boat ride through a glowing forest, how can it not be good?
  5. ^Yeah, and another big B&M would have fit nicely in San Antonio. You could make the same argument for switching Mako and Cobra's Curse, I want a cool sea turtle themed Mack spinner dang it. Those trains would be adorable, but don't let the cuteness fool you, they spin......
  6. ^Run straight to the ride and get your return time for an hour later duh. I can't wait to see how long the return times for the big drop slide get, imagine if 1000 or so people per day at Blizzard Beach had Express passes and go go on Summit Plummet whenever they wanted.
  7. Let me just say that it's no coincidence that the people in this thread from places like Cininnati and Jacksonville think Cedar Fair makes good pizza while people from Chicago and New York (hi) are less than impressed. Huh, then I guess there's no way a pizza joint from a place like Jacksonville/St. Augustine would ever make a (probably not accurate but it still exists so whatever) Top 10 in America list? must be a coincidence Back on track here, LaRossa's is solid and so are the new waterpark additions at Cedar Point. I love the little kids slides that parks are putting in, Wild Adventures' expansion this year also has a small little kids section with the small slides. These things are perfect for kids under like 5. As much as I love a gigantic play structure with the dump bucket and slides and stuff you'd be surprised how intimidating those can be to little kids.
  8. Yeah, I mean Cedar Fair even offers different levels that include more popular or new attractions, leaving off what will probably be the best ride in the park seems strange.
  9. Wait, what??? Isn't the WHOLE POINT of buying the Express Pass to bypass the lines on the more signature attractions??? I really hope that's not actually the case. Yeah, it's kinda buried under the "more info" on the express pass page, and Krakatau Aqua Coaster isn't listed on the "participating Locations" tab. So, yeah. It says your Express Pass will be pre-loaded into your Tapu Tapu and you will immediately enter the attraction instead of being issued a return time.
  10. LaRossa's at Kings Island says hi. If you disagree keep your trash pizza opinions to yourself, LaRossa's is the best.
  11. There is a Universal Orlando Blgo post up this morning with some more details on Volcano Bay tickets, which are now on sale. Looks like there will be single day tickets for sale ($67) and there will also be Express Pass available, which is interesting. Single day tickets, Express Pass, and a virtual line system, we'll see how that works out. One other note, it looks like the Express Pass will not be valid on the Krakatau Aqua Coaster. volcano bay tickets on sale 2017
  12. Don't be ridiculous....we all know penguin is the real delicacy.
  13. There was a little discussion over in the SeaWorld Orlando thread but the consensus seemed to be that nobody really any idea what this means. The overseas development should be interesting, I have kind of wondered why they have never attempted a Discovery Cove type park anywhere else yet. I know San Antonio has Discovery Point but that's not really the same thing. Feels like a Discovery Cove type experience could work in a lot of locations around the world and be built for a price tag significantly lower than a whole new SeaWorld park.
  14. I'm assuming that they'll just close the train gates and quietly celebrate the labor they're saving by not having to pay someone to staff the gate this season. I expect some kind of teaser at some point, but construction walls seem a little unnecessary. If they do just leave the train gates closed what's the over/under on how long someone stands there waiting for the gates to open? Also how many days into the season before someFIFOone says screw it and just crosses the tracks anyways? Taking bets starting now......
  15. I didn't mean to imply that they "need" to make an announcement or have to acknowledge the project, I'm just curious to see what they will do. Will there be construction walls around the attraction with some kind of teasers? Will they launch some kind of social media campaign with a promo site leading up to an announcement? Will they train the Dippin Dots guy to respond to questions with fake project details? It'll just be interesting to see how they handle a gigantic attraction under construction that's visible to the park throughout most of the operating season.
  16. It's gonna be interesting to see how the park handles this project after they open in May. I mean I think it's awesome how they've frozen out all of the coaster nerds of the world all off season but I'd imagine when but the place is open and get thousands of guests per day asking "why ain't that big wooden coaster in the back of the park open?" they'll eventually acknowledge it somehow......... maybe?
  17. Just a minor nerd comment but I love when parks don't release the full layout image or a POV of a ride when announcing the attraction, makes it a lot more fun when you finally get on the ride for the first time. Also I didn't realize this thing is going to be almost entirely over the water, should look great and and make for a really unique experience. I honestly kind of forgot about this ride being built but it might turn out to be the surprise of the year in America at least. Also if you are reading this Cedar Point, keep on doin you, don't announce or reveal anything, just build the thing then open it.
  18. The only thing that annoys me more than flawed park operations is someone who back seat moderates a forum. For whatever it's worth as far as forum discussions go this has been a pretty constructive couple of pages. Maybe if the mat racer, quad tube slides, and one of the family style 6 person raft slides were standby only all the time and you have to reserve for the big body slides, water coaster, and the bigger wave bowl slides then you'll have something to do while waiting for the return time for the other more popular attractions. I could see some kind of mixture of reservation only and standby only working out.
  19. 1. Men in Black 2. Old Poseidon's Fury 3. Jaws 4. Spiderman 5.Ripsaw Falls
  20. Yeah, it really is an interesting concept and I'm interested to see how it plays out. To me the only way it will really work is if they limit admission to a level where it can work, but we'll see what happens.
  21. I'm kind of curious how that is going to work out as well. I mean water parks by their nature tend to have lower capacity attractions that stack up some long lines. I mean the past 4 or 5 visits to I've made to Wet N Wild, Aquatica, or Blizzard Beach even on days where the park wasn't insanely crowded most of the major attractions had 40+ minute waits, heck I've seen Summit Plummit up over 90 minutes for a majority of the day. So yeah if there are no standby lines for other attractions while you wait for your return time I'm just not sure how they're going to pull that off. Maybe like you mentioned earlier, if single day tickets aren't available and the only way you can get in is with a 3+ day pass it will keep attendance lower so that kind of system operate with reasonable return times. With all the new resort properties proposed for the future maybe Volcano Bay tickets will only be available through a multi day room and ticket package. That wouldn't totally surprise me at this point.
  22. Has anyone here ever used those at a waterpark? I'm pretty familiar with some of Accesso's other products's (Q-bot, Q-Smart etc.) but I don't think I've seen these in action anywhere. Seems like if Disney wanted to bring Fastpass+ to the water parks they would have already done it by now, so I'm guessing it's not high on their priority list.
  23. I actually have 14 water park days remaining on two non-expiring passes we've been holding onto since 2003. We'll have free Disney water parks for at least the next ten years! lol Funny story last year I found two 3-Day children's tickets at my in-laws house that had to have been from around 1985, paper tickets with detachable daily admission tabs good at either Epcot or Magic Kingdom. One ticket had 2 tabs left the other 1, I took them to guest services and they gave me 3 single day park hoppers in exchange. Yeah the more I think about it the more I agree with you but it is kind of interesting that they open a new attraction at a water park now, 2 months ahead of Volcano Bay's opening, considering that between almost 60 years of operation of BB & TL Disney has added a new attraction to either park once. I'm just curious as to why a family raft slide at Typhoon Lagoon and why now? Maybe some contractor at Disney Springs blew a job and said okay we owe you one...... and Disney said "what if we had a waterslide laying around, how much to have it installed......".
  24. ^Yeah that's probably true, but at $108 for an Aquatica only annual pass compared to $125 for a Blizzard Beach and Typhooon Lagoon pass I know where I'd be spending my money if I were a local. Actually Im close enough to be considered a local but I've got a boat load of water park days left from non-expiring tickets back when those things still existed, I should be set for a few years.
