  1. I'm just wondering how they plan on competing in the local area with Carowinds getting the largest giga in the world and Dollywood opening Dreammore Resort and them another $20+ million ride in 2016. Hopefully they are saving for something truly epic....then again, we'll probably see a Crazy Cyclone remake of Georgia Cyclone. Not saying that would be a bad thing.
  2. Sorry I'm not trying to complain. Yes I'm glad that they are getting more flats. I've just never been a fan of super loops after my last experience with one at the Tennessee Valley Fair a while back. Happily riding and my seatbelt came undone and your arms are so cramped I couldn't reach it to snap it back in. The harness was very loose so I was hanging on for dear life. Granted it was a carnival....but still. Bad memories.
  3. Makes me wonder....why on earth did they get rid of Wheelie and then two years later put in another looping (and in my opinion less exciting) flat ride? I mean...these things are a dime a dozen at almost every carnival and fair in the nation. They could come up with something new. Oh well. And the coaster part? lmao! Way to go six flags! Carowinds here I come!
  4. What about the one where couples who want to have a girl should ride rollercoasters a lot before trying for one? Also, I read one about how riding coasters regularly is healthy exercise for your heart due to the adrenaline rush. Wish I could get a workout riding Thunderhead every day instead of jogging two miles!
  5. Finally found the satellite image Robb posted of the two buildings. It indeed is Adlabs Imagica. Check out the Google Earth Image I found. The buildings are located just behind the park. Adlabs Imagica is my final vote.
  6. Somewhere in the west Tennessee, northern Mississippi, and southern Arkansas area. That whole area of the southeast is completely devoid almost of parks. Throw Louisiana and western Alabama in there too.
  7. Only twice have I had a terrifying experience on a ride. First was a few years ago at Lake Winnie when I made the mistake of getting on OH Zone. I had ridden free falls before, but this one seemed so much taller then the ones at the fair. The worst part was the air compressed blast back to earth. I had to sit down a few minutes after I got off. I've yet to ride a free fall after that, but for some reason I'm excited about riding Falcon's Fury. Lex Luther...don't know. I have always been terrified of heights, so going up the lift hills used to be the worst part of the ride. First time on Wild Eagle I was completely freaking out...but after the first hill it was pure fun.
  8. How about the guys who think they can just waltz on through the line to join their friends-AFTER they've already ridden the ride! Busch Gardens Tampa had that problem to the extreme!
  9. Well, the first park on my list for this year is out of the way (Busch Gardens Tampa Bay), but it was so awesome I'm gonna have to go back! Going to Japan for study abroad in May so I hope to knock out a couple of the parks there, especially Spa Land! Otherwise, definitely going to Dollywood and Lake Winnie this year, with Kings Island, Beech Bend, Silver Dollar City, Six Flags America, and Cedar Point high on the possibility list. Whatever the case, 2014 is gonna be awesome!
  10. I don't see why enthusiasts say The wing riders are force less. I've ridden Wild Eagle almost too many times to count, and usually every time I grey out a couple of times, especially between the loop and zero g and pulling into the loop. The final helix is pretty forceful too. Although it can't compare to the B&M inverts, floor less, and standard looping coasters for nonstop stick-you-to-your-seat positive gs (like my favorite coaster ever, Kumba), it's still pretty intense. My only complaint is that the inversions seem to be taken too slow, especially the zero g roll. I think this is partially dependent on temperature and the amount of passengers. One day I watched the train almost stall multiple times during a test run when the temp was around 35 degrees. Overall, I love Wild Eagle and (I know some people will say I'm nuts) usually ride it more times than Thunderhead when I'm at DW. The restraints are usually fine. It was only bad one time when they tightened up during the ride, digging some keys I had in my pocket into my leg while we sat on the brake run. I can't wait to ride GK and XF to see how they compare. The main thing I love about the wing riders is the feeling of flying and soaring through the air. WE actually gives you a better sensation of flying than a flying coaster in my opinion.
  11. Total retrack of Gorgia Cyclone (great idea of Iron Horsing it!), Completely redo the theming and landscape for dahlonega mine train. Blow SFOG Ninja up (who rides it anyway???) and replace with a launched wing rider themed to air force jets (station and launch area could be themed to an aircraft carrier since it's on the water!) better yet, TWO dueling wing riders. Now that would be something! Update the theming and special effects on Blazin' Fury , fix the track to be smoother and bring back the splashdown. Lower the zero g roll on Wild Eagle just a bit. Is it just me, or does it seen to take it way to slow? Whatever the case there is almost some hang time depending which seat you're in, no zero gs! It would also be nice if Mystery Mine could get the other style of euro fighter trains-not the ones like dare devil dive, but the floor less ones that only have lap bars. Live that ride but the head banging on the restraints ( especially the first helix) is awful. Finally, make TN Tornado not have such an abrupt ending. It still has so much unused energy when it leaps onto the brake run. Maybe do a double corkscrew followed by an upward helix
  12. Mystery Mine at DW! The Barnstormer barn and surrounding area is also pretty interesting. Monster Mansion at SFOG was also pretty cool and a completely unique experience. When Firechaser opens MM might have to take second!
  13. Hey Everyone! My name is Daniel Carrell and I'm from Knoxville,Tennessee, or in our terms I'm from an hour from Dollywood. I've been coming to TPR's website for a while and have probably watched every one of their YouTube videos ever made. I've always been interested in rollercoasters ever since I was around eight years old, but for years all I could do was dream, read books, and watch videos. Sure we live basically right at DW but it was always too pricey for us to venture there as a family. Finally I convinced my parents to let us go to charming Lake Winnie in Chattanooga where I rode my first steel and wood coasters: Wild Lightnin' and Cannonball. Of course now I was really hooked, so I drove them nuts the next spring to let us go to SFOG. I was too scared to get on Goliath (what??!?!?) and missed Mind Mender too, but overall had an awesome time (except Ninja: OW!) Finally I got my drivers license and a job so I was determined Dollywood would be next. This past spring I got season passes and went for the first time. Now I've been more times than I can count and have big plans for 2014. One of my other main passions is photography (I'm going for a masters!) and so it's natural that I would want to blend the two. I've started a project who knows how long it's gonna take: take professional coaster shots at every major park over the next few years. I'm so excited to be joining TPR!
