Good to hear that you enjoyed the preview day. I'll be at the park on Saturday, and it can't come fast enough. Did you notice any new changes in the park that we weren't already aware of? -

Perhaps they did only invite passholders with All-Season Dining. I don't have it because I hardly ever eat in the park. It looks like there will be a new Minute Maid stand in the waterpark near Barefoot Beach. -

Good to hear that Rougarou is a great ride. I am especially excited to ride it now that I'm hearing that it's more forceful than Kraken, and I'm a big fan of Kraken . -

I never received an email about the passholder preview day either. Either they only wanted to invite certain passholders to the event (not sure why they'd do that), or Valleyfair has some flaws in its email service. -

^ Yep, I prefer not to ride coasters when it's raining. I've ridden Corkscrew in the rain, and it hurts like heck. Plus, I live more than an hour away from the park, and it would be a waste of my time if the rides are closed. -

It's nice that Valleyfair is holding this event, but I'm probably going to wait and go on Opening Weekend because the forecast for Sunday does not look good (90% chance of rain). -

I think the Panic Falls slide complex and the old Splash Station will be the only attractions removed for the next waterpark expansion, everything else can stay. -

Now that they've put in more landscaping, it looks like the construction phase of the waterpark expansion is finished. Pretty impressive how far they've come since October. October 12, 2014 May 5, 2015 -

Just curious, on my first day at Cedar Point (most likely Tuesday, June 9th, but not set in stone), I probably won't be arriving at the park until midday (anytime between noon and 3 pm). In what order should I ride the coasters to keep wait times at a minimum? -

^ The park owns plenty of land, however most of it is located in the flood plain (everything above the blue-white line). I'm not so sure building a new flood berm around the park would be worth it because mid-season flooding is quite rare. Flooding usually happens in early spring and recedes before the park opens for the season, although I don't think the river flooded at all this year because of the mild winter. Until mid-season flooding becomes a normal thing, I think they're fine for now. -

Not a bad list, although I think we'll probably get a Slingshot sometime in the next few years since Cedar Fair seems to be jumping on the Slingshot bandwagon. -

On another note, there has been plenty of discussion on this thread about what should replace the amphitheater in the near future. I personally think that the amphitheater lawn is where VF's eventual dark ride will be located. It seems like the logical location for one because it has just the right amount of land that would be necessary, and none of the existing buildings in the park are big enough to house a dark ride. Plenty of space for a dark ride building. -

Not really sure why Cedar Fair is choosing ride names that some people may have a hard time pronouncing (first Rougarou, now Valravn). Makes me think that VF's next coaster, whenever it may come, might also have a strange name. But really, why would they tear down a coaster, to make a parking lot the park doesn't even need? And they won't put in another wave pool, no water park needs two. Exactly. -

Granted, roller coasters never broke down because they never existed. I wish for Six Flags to improve their customer service. -

^^ Yes, it's called the Flash Pass. Considering the very long lines SFGAm gets during the summer, it would definitely be a worthwhile investment. If you don't end up getting a Flash Pass, Goliath does have a single rider line if you don't mind being assigned a seat (cut the 3-hour wait into only 45 minutes for me). -

^ I believe so, you'll just pay the difference of the platinum pass and the dining add-on. Only two weeks left until Valleyfair opens . Who else is going to the park on Opening Weekend? -

I think VF is emphasizing Chef Luis to help advertise the park's food, and they need to make their food look more impressive since most park guests, myself included, think Valleyfair's food is overpriced and inferior to what you can get at most fast food restaurants (who likes paying six dollars for cold French fries?) -

It's a little hard to see with the tarp in the way, but it looks like there probably won't be a new Soak City entrance after all . Hopefully they'll place an entrance there eventually. You can also see Wild Thing testing in the background . -
Saw Avengers: Age of Ultron last night, and while I liked it overall, it was a little disappointing. There were several boring scenes, particularly in the first half of the movie. Ultron was a relatively weak villain if you ask me. On the plus side, it has plenty of the action you would expect to see in a Marvel movie, it's visually appealing, and it was generally well acted. Overall, another good movie from Marvel, and while not as good as its predecessor, I think it's worth seeing. Rating: 7/10

The old speed slides have never ripped any of my swimsuits, and the drop itself is semi-decent, but the run-out chute is brutally painful. I hope they will remove them soon to make way for something much better.
