Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
VF15 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
More Goliath GP-isms: -"No thanks. I want to live." -"Jimmy Fallon has to go on this with Kevin Hart" -"I would have to make my funeral arrangements in line lol" -"I see the term "mechanical failure" being used in the near future in a story about this roller coaster..." -"there's not enough vodka distilled in 100 years to get me on that thing." -"not in my life time thank you!! heart attack in the making..." -"No Thank You!!! Will never let my kids ride on something like this...All you hear of nowadays is coasters like these malfunctioning...." -"180 feet while rocketing through twists and turns at 72 miles per hour at a near vertical 85 degree angle.. this is a KID RIDE LMAO .. lets do Cedar Point at 120MPH & 400ft..." -"Let's see how long it is till someone dies riding it" -"I wonder if inexperience teenagers are running this one too, a Texas tragedy repeat in the making.." -"Just throw a stone at it and the whole thing will come down. Lol." -"Cedar Point is better, this coaster doesn't have anything on them!" My reaction to these... -

Saw Jersey Boys earlier today. Not a bad movie. The acting was nothing special, but it did have some wonderful music. I'd recommend it if you're into this kind of stuff.

Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

Yeah, it is sort of embarrassing having no type of B&M. What I think is more embarrassing is that the only inverting coaster is an Arrow Loopscrew. It's quite smooth for a 34-year-old Arrow, but it's still ridiculous. I'm with you on the invert as it would satisfy the park's need for a full-circuit invert, and a new coaster with inversions. -
Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

I totally agree. We will see what CF does over the next 5 years as they have labeled VF as one of their 3 top growth parks, we will see if they make some bigger investments for the park. If they bring some nice attractions and rides instead of going on the cheap like they have in the past it will pay off in this market. I agree completely. Since VF was listed as one of the top 3 parks for future growth, our next attractions/coasters hopefully won't be done cheaply. After thinking about it, going on the cheap is probably my biggest pet peeve with Valleyfair. Excalibur has the potential to be a great coaster, but since it only has a simple figure-right look, it's okay at best. I don't blame VF for choosing Morgan for Wild Thing, as B&M and Intamin hadn't started making hypercoasters yet, but they could have done so much more with it. Steel Venom is a great ride, but impulse coasters are one of Intamin's cheaper models, and it was sort of a spur-of-the-moment thing. Renegade is awesome, but it is the cheapest of Cedar Fair's three GCIs. If you'd asked me about VF's future a year ago, I would having been predicting something else cheap for next time, but now, I'm much more confident in my home park's future. -

^ Well, I too would want an announcement sooner than later, but Cedar Fair parks usually don't announce their new attractions until mid-to-late August. Valleyfair has sometimes waited until September to announce the new addition (ex. Route 76, Renegade). A dark ride would be a good addition, as Valleyfair doesn't have one, but they need the waterpark expansion and a new coaster first before a dark ride. You're right about the back of the park needing attention. Aside from Renegade, beyond the Soak City entrance, that part of the park is somewhat quiet. I don't know which exact building is the maintenance building, but I could definitely see a roller coaster in this area. Although, a part of me feels the new coaster may not happen until 2017 because asking for a new coaster the year after a waterpark expansion might be asking for too much, but for now, I'll just wait and see how things play out. -

More ridiculous online GP-isms regarding Goliath (SFGAm). -"Wood....yes coffins are made of wood too" -"A disaster waiting to happen" -"Pssh please.. It's not new!!! Goliath rollercoaster has been around for years at Magic Mountain in Valencia California" -"there will be new lawsuits by the end of summer." -"Screw that! Bet that wood snaps somehow, someway!" -"That is not the worlds tallest or steepest its called cedar point" -"That looks like it is going to kill me instantly. Hope they have insurance" -"I would rather eat nails than get on that thing!" -"Millennium Force has a 300 foot drop. Six Flags is weak. Not to mention didn't someone die at a Six Flags park last year? They don't have a good safety record." -"Who would ride that?...OR any rides like that?...only crazy people who does not care about life! Whiplash, long term problems, or even death ...YOLO ya ya...hmmmm?!" -"I'm not trying this until at least a thousand people go on before me" -"Yeah why not kill yourself, why can't they build a roller coaster that's fun but not waiting with lawyers at the end of the ride" These never get old... -

Granted, but then someone gets hurt on the ride, and the park gets sued over it. I wish that more amusement parks would use single rider lines. -

^ I think that flags mean that the amphitheater is on it's way out soon, which is good news because right now it is just sitting there wasting perfectly good space. Something new will probably be going there in the future, but probably not next year because currently it's quite obvious that next year's project will be the waterpark expansion. I'd rather have Looping Starship get relocated to another park or sent to the junkyard than have it moved within the park. I said a while back that a Zamperla Air Race could be a fun ride to put there. I guess you could fit a smaller-sized Windseeker in that spot, but if VF ever does get a Windseeker, I don't see it happening within the next few years because of the problems they've had recently. I'd love to get a Huss Giant Frisbee, but I'm not sure if it would fit in that space. Maybe if they move Enterprise to somewhere else in the park like the old Tilter spot, they could fit a Giant Frisbee in there. That's my two cents. -

Oh, okay. I get it now. If they aren't having a halloween event this year that they've had in the past, then that will definitely be a good thing for Valleyfair this year. -
Last July: Wild Thing (VF). When was the last time you rode an Arrow Dynamics coaster?

^ I'll probably sound stupid for asking this question, but what is Buck Hill? Is that some person that helps run the event, or some other place that has a Halloween event? I wouldn't know because I'm not into the Haunt stuff either. -

Granted, every other ride at VF gets rougher. I wish that Valleyfair would open for the season earlier than Mid-May.
