  1. I made my first visit to the park today. Gold striker went down around 2-3pm and hasn't been back up at all. Has it been having any issues that anyone knows about / is this normal for the ride? I'm planning on trying to get it in tomorrow morning but figured I'd ask here to see if anyone knew anything?
  2. I completely agree with what you've said about Millennium. I was blown away with how well the ride was running yesterday during the morning ERT and at night especially. Comparing it to my previous visits to CP, the floater air on the big hill felt much stronger than usual and the tiny hop next to the station was delivering with some really sweet ejector air by the end of the night. I ended up riding 8 times yesterday and by the end of the event I was glad that MF was swapped out for TTD being down..
  3. Leviathan Bizarro (Both SFNE, & SFGAd) Gatekeeper Diamondback Terminator Salvation: The Ride
  4. Took some photos of goliath this morning as I wanted to see the arch/lift in person. Workers have been busy all around the ride premises all morning. The anticipation I have to ride this RMC coaster is next level. Less than 20 days now. Goliath really is a massive structure The zero gravity stall is looking amazing For those of you wondering how the entrance area is looking so far. Some new topper track pieces waiting to be assembled. After raining last night the skys were beautiful today.
  5. 2003 Lincoln Town Car with all of its "old man swag" american glory.
  6. payed $4.39 for 93 octane premium fuel this afternoon
  7. I saw the Chainsmokers (think #Selfie song) @ Concord Music Hall in Chicago this past weekend.
  8. You might be a coaster nerd if you carry multiple park passes in your wallet at all times, even during the off season.
  9. T2 is one of the only roller coasters I've rode that actually made me want to cry. others worth mentioning Medusa (SF Mexico) Wolverine Wildcat (MI) Cyclone (SF New England) Excalibur (VF)
  10. Six Flags Great America (My home park.) on opening day: May 3rd.
  11. My favorite coaster trips have always been road trips of typically about a weeks length. I would always aim at going to 4 or 5 parks in a 7 day time frame because I find that a few rest days are necessary to remain sane and actually enjoy each destination, especially when doing all that driving. For example I went on a 7 day trip where I drove from Chicago (my hometown), to Toronto (Canada's Wonderland), Montreal (La Ronde), Lake George (Great Escape), NYC (SFGAd), and also hit Cedar Point for a half-day on the way back to Chicago. I prefer driving simply because I love to be able to have the freedom of my own car (not some cheap base model rental). Obviously some destinations would require flights, but I only opt when truly necessary, I haven't ventured to any parks over seas just yet.. Recently I've also been into "Daycations" where I'll wake up early and go to a park within 4-6 hours away and comeback at night. Being able to stand long car rides is one thing I'm grateful of.
  12. I have visited both parks and have my opinions on both I visited the Great Escape once in 2010 and I remember being very pleased with the cutesy family atmosphere and beautiful landscapes that the park provided. Comet was a pleasant surprise for me and a great coaster but besides it and Sasquatch (The S&S Tower from SFNO) the park was really lacking in rides that I was actually interested in experiencing. However, I live about 200 miles away from Michigan's Adventure and love Shivering Timbers so much that I made 3 trips to the park this summer. ST alone makes MI a destination that I much prefer over TGE, and Thunderhawk is probably the smoothest SLC I've ever rode, and the only one I actually will re-ride. Past that however, MI is a bit bare to the bones in the thrill rides department. I respect the small park feel and find that a lower attendance park like MI is a refreshing change from the crowded midways and hour long waits of the largest corporate parks. That alone makes both of these parks enjoyable destination, but I prefer MI just a bit more.
  13. Cedar Fair: Shivering Timbers Six Flags: X2 purely for uniqueness SeaWorld Entertainment: Steel Eel Herschend: Powder Keg
  14. Viper at SFGAm last week for my final visit to the park this season
  15. UGH! I was planning on taking part in the Raging Bull ERT, I was at the park all night on Thursday and I walked over to Raging Bull at about 9:45pm to find that the ride was "closed" (or so I was told) after just walking past an actually closed X-Flight I assumed it was too cold and so I left the park.... I'm guessing they stopped letting people in the queue for the ERT?
  16. This may come as a surprise for many, but mine is an SLC. I rode Thunderhawk at Michigan's Adventure several times this past summer on different occasions and can honestly say it's like no other SLC I've subjected myself to in the past. Thunderhawk is butter smooth and a really intense/fun ride in the last row. I'm also quite fond of the flying dutchman models because I love the awkward transitions from flying to being on your back.
