  1. If/when KI does get a Giga, I'm hoping it would be an Intamin along the lines of I305. Wishful thinking, I know. But I think that what they need more is an RMC Hyper woodie.
  2. Could this possibly be the station for a new coaster? I could see a launch into the corner and then heading towards the log chute. This could be another coaster that goes all the way around the park. Yeah, I know. It's a stupid pipe dream and I should find some better meds.
  3. My contributions to this thread, all from Valleyfair. Renegade Steel Venom's Holding Break. Wild Thing Ascending.
  4. Well whatever in Intamin's name replaces Corkscrew, it should have a corkscrew over the midway--if only for sentiment's sake.
  5. May or may not be planning a trip to the Branson area in mid-late May (Between 20th-30th) how heavy should I expect the crowds to be? Especially for my favorite wooden (and maybe of all time) coaster, Outlaw Run? I remember when I visited in mid-June 2013, all rides except Powder Keg were walk-ons or 1-2 train waits.
  6. Agreed, or maybe a small coaster that could interact with Magnum. Another possibility would be to use some/all of that space to enlarge Soak City. But I'm hoping for a coaster.
  7. Doing some trip planning here. The week of August 25, I'm moving to the Tampa area for college and am going to spend at day at the park. So a few questions: -Area schools are back in session, correct? -Average price of a Bacon Pretzel Fury and related food items -How fast do the Cheetah Hunt/Falcon's Fury lines move? -Keeping in mind that the 25th is on a Thursday, what day of the week would be most optimal to visit? Lodging, admission and food (except the BPF) are already accounted for in the planning.
  8. *Minnesotan laughing at the 17 degree weather being called super cold while lounging in -17 degree weather.
  9. It makes sense that some/all/most of Gatekeeper has sandy track. It goes over the entrance to the park twice over where the tickets are sold. I would imagine that it's important for those associates to hear the annoying ACErs as they buy their tickets.
  10. When that boat comes back, I'll bet it'll come with an announcement for a 5-mile in length, Strata-Aquatrax with at least 20 inversions that'll replace Chik-Fil-A.
  11. I've heard B&M classify coasters over 200 feet as "Mega-Coasters" most likely due to the fact that they are a Swiss company-who uses the Metric System of measuring. 200 feet (Hyper)= 61 meters 300 feet (Giga)= 91.4 meters The meaning isn't the same. The impact is different. Just my .02
  12. With how other Cedar Fair parks are getting "Gate Coasters," and many are expecting ours to take the place of Dinos. Here's a thought (though I'm not entirely sure how much of this land the park can build on): the entrance/queue could take the place of Ripcord with the lift rising over the parking lot entrance towards the dorms. Alternatively, the Ripcord could be replaced by a tunnel/skyway over said entrance to create a whole new section of the parking lot between the park entrance and the dorms. This could also create some great curb appeal for the park/help expand it. See attached picture.
  13. At this point, I'm more optimistic about that Premier Launcher at WOF in 2018. Or maybe that Morey's Piers GCI. Possibly Speed returns in Vegas?
  14. I say replace Vortex with a B&M wing coaster, Dinos Alive with an RMC wooden Hypercoaster, and use the old SoB station for an Intamin Giga.
  15. Excited to be leaving SuperBumperTide?
  16. Can anyone compare KK's Thunder Run pre/post reopening as a comparison to Hurler? I've heard some good press about Thunder Run since its reopening and the two have similar layouts (if not identical). Or would this be an apples-->oranges situation?
  17. Why couldn't it have been Humane Habitat? The night I worked there, we barely got anyone through. Those that I talked to said that the maze absolutely sucked from the scare potential to the storyline.
  18. I got fired this weekend. Last day of the season problems. Anywho, I finally got to work Haunt this weekend. Friday night I was at the Southern edge of Abnormal Alley with a chin prosthetic that wouldn't stay glued to my face. Guess that speaks a lot to how hard I was working. Lost my voice in the first 90 minutes, but ah well. Saturday night I was a protester in Humane Habitat. I didn't like that anywhere near as much as I did AA. I might have also seen you. What were you wearing? Thank you all for a fantastic season and ride on, ride warriors! I will most likely not return to Valleyfair next year as I am going to apply to Cedar Point.
  19. I lived in the dorms this year and they were crap--especially the wifi. I barely used Netflix at all this summer . Whatever your expectations are for them, lower them. But hey, they were cheap ($45/week), I got out of my house, and could go into the park whenever I wanted.
  20. I rode OzCat in one of its last 2 seasons of operations and couldn't get enough of the thing when I visited Celebration City. Maybe part of the reason was that all rides were night rides, but I still loved the thing. Why are all the GCIs disappearing this year?
  21. Cedar Point does offer employee housing. It's not the best, it's basically like some college dorms, but you never really spend much time in your room anyway, so how nice does it really need to be? Hey, that's all VF's housing was.
  22. Curious as to whether or not KD has onsite employee housing. I worked Valleyfair this summer and lived in their onsite housing and am looking to travel.
