  1. Can't wait definitely be going again this year! Need my GhostRider and X2 credits that I missed out on last year!
  2. I agree that drop after the zero g roll is really starting to feel forceful and faster since opening weekend, and I've gone the last three weekends. The ride is getting better and better as it warms up! Can't wait to see how it is in July on the Mini New Hotness Tour.
  3. I've used Kings Dominion cups at KI this year no issue, and last year I used a CP cup at Knott's with no issue. I noticed each year the cups are all the same color chain wide, last year it was red, this year it's purple.
  4. Michigans Adventure and Darien Lake for sure. Cedar Point though they don't need a new coaster anytime soon since they got Gatekeeper last yr. *drag* They do need however at some point a World Class woodie. Mean Streak just isnt cutting it anymore. So either RMC that thing or bring a GCI to the park IMO
  5. This is starting to look really cool and unique from the pictures I have seen, can't wait to ride the finished product this summer!
  6. Wood: The Beast at KI Thunderbolt at Kennywood Steel: Banshee at KI (I know its new but that drop into the ravine is incredible, along with the second half of the ride) Loch Ness Monster at BGW
  7. http://www.wkyc.com/story/news/features/2014/04/17/banshee-brings-haunting-screams-to-kings-island/7815377/ Somewhat GP, but I cringe on this story of Banshee opening from a local Cleveland news station. The number of mistakes in this report are laughable, especially since they are supposedly coming from the stations local roller coaster "expert" First he claims that Gatekeeper set the world (he does say world) record for inversions at 7 last yr and that Banshee has again tied that. Umm Smiler anyone? Also one anchor claims he likes a classic old wooden roller coaster and I quote "like the Gemini"
  8. Apparently everyone decided to come Friday instead of Saturday and Sunday
  9. (Noncarbonated?) Fanta Got it at Kings Island on opening day, was told it wasn't carbonated. Actually ended up not tasting half bad
  10. Running and swimming! Especially 5k's and Marathon events on amusement park property
  11. Cedar Fair usually has a no filming policy on their rides as I believe they own a copyright to the videos/on ride footage. I'm sure you can take plenty of footage while not riding though
  12. Kings Island Cedar Point Canada's Wonderland In that order and then in July Mini New Hotness Tour!
  13. If it maintains speed which I think it will due to no midcourse break run, personally I think it will be a great ride. My personal top coasters are ones that maintain speed throughout the course i.e. Maverick and I305. Can't wait for Media Day and Opening Day later this week!
  14. I'm just really excited to try out the "Mega-Lite" concept, I remember back before Skyrush was announced there were rumors that would be a mega-lite but that was not true obviously. While I know it's not an Intamin mega-lite I believe LR is a perfect fit for this park, and am really excited to ride it this year on the New Hotness Tour!
  15. Yup, I saw the system up and running at Carowinds and Kings Dominion this past weekend and it looks great!
  16. Rode Hurler last weekend at Carowinds, thought it was a great experience, granted I was in the front of the train but found it to be fairly smooth. Mean Streak is by far the most brutal coaster I've ever been on. I will hold out hope that it can get the RMC treatment someday.
  17. I will be there opening day! First time to KD so really excited. Thinking of making Volcano the first coaster and then making my way through all the others throughout the day.
  18. If an interactive dark ride is done well I think its great ie. MiB, Toy Story Mania, etc. If an interactive dark ride is done poorly like say the Boo Blasters on Boo Hill rides at Cedar Fair parks that were converted from Scooby Doo (which wasn't very good either) then I see your point, then yeah it's a cheap cash in. Here's hoping Cedar Fair gets in right with Guardian at CW this year. Trust in Ouimet haha Also have to say I LOVE Ghostwood Estates at Kennywood. I think that is a great example of a dark ride/interactive done very very well.
  19. Home Park is Cedar Point so this a definitely a hard choice but I'm gonna have to go with Maverick. It's silky smooth (if you know which way to lean), maintains great speed throughout the ride, and has some great airtime moments as well. You also have the likes of Millennium, Dragster, and Magnum but I personally will take Maverick over all of those
  20. Bummed about X2 would've been my first ride as well but as long as Xcelerator and YOLOcoaster are open for the weekend I'll still have a great time!
  21. I'll be attending this event as well. I randomly decided to fly out from Cleveland to visit Knott's that weekend already and was stoked to see the that the West Coast Bash was the same weekend. So I will see you all at SFMM and Knott's!
