  1. Sorry if this is a stupid question, or it's been answered before (I've looked), but how quickly do these tickets sell out? Thanks.
  2. Funny thing is with the reliability at Thorpe Park recently about the same amount of rides were closed during the power cut as when the park had power
  3. I don't think it LOOKS dull which is the problem, it just IS dull. With the querky lift hill, a fairly unique triplet of inversions and extreme-looking airtime hill I think it looks great. Problem is, it isn't. I'm not a fan of the restraints as when they tighten they dig into your ribs, and despite the ride being called G Force, and despite it looking quite forceful, it's completely forceless. 'G Forceless' as it were.
  4. The buck stops with the parent IMHO, and society shouldn't be wrapped in cotton wool to safeguard those who are likely to stray into harm's way. Where do you draw the line? Should there also be fences along sides of roads to stop people walking in front of cars etc etc? The picture below is of a German Breakdance. Fast moving, crowded platform and not a fence to be seen. It's not a death trap because people take responsibility for their own actions, or aught to have a guardian to do that for them. The world shouldn't need to adapt for the lowest common denominator. Actually, there is a fence here... somewhere... the people at the back are sitting on it
  5. You'll get on them fine. Even when those restrictions were enforced they would still let on the couples and single riders, they just try and put off the large groups of antisocial riders who would ruin the ride for others.
  6. I've seen at least eight platformers on Eurostar which is a travelling German inverted coaster - there was at least one member of staff per row (eight) and I think more on top of that batching.
  7. We covered this awhile ago. The first car is the zero car in all invert cases minus Alpie. Well, yea I know that the first two cars of all B&M trains only articulate rotationally. but as far as I knew, the term 'zero-car' meant the first car with no seats, ala Alpengeist, which is the only one with it. What would be the puppose of pointing out that Black Mamba has a zero-car, if one is refering to the design style that all B&M inverts have? I was wondering the same thing. It made no sense. Exactly, this is what I meant - a few people were talking at crossed purposes which you can see in this post here FlippyTrick09 wrote that it was "weird" Mamba didn't have a zero car. colincoon wrote that it DID have a zero car. Presumably these two posters were referring to the front row as a 'zero car' MonkeyPants followed up by saying that it does NOT have a zero car, presumably referring to it as being what Alpie has. I posted just to clarify this - the first two posters obviously regarded the front row as the zero car (which I know isn't the case) and I wasn't sure whether MonkeyPants' photo showed it didn't have a zero car because the lack of the extra wheels on the front (as Alpie) or because the front car was twisting as the fact it doesn't go up and down was shown in colincoon's pic.
  8. If you mean zero-car like Alpengeist, then no, it doesn't, but then Alpie is the only one with a zero-car. If you mean a zero-car like every other B&M, yes it does. Zero cars can twist to the side (like in that photo you posted), but not up and down or horizontally to the side. Not sure if that makes any sense, but that's the case on every other inverter.
  9. If the track is of a smaller scale, that means the multilooper is still an option - the track on Colossus at Thorpe Park is of a smaller scale than Intamin's Mega Coasters and Rockets.
  10. The Superman Escape in the poll is not the one at Magic Mountain (which I think you're talking about) but the one at Movie World in Australia.
  11. You just gave the same link and that doesn't work either. To get there you have to go to http://www.zamperla.com then click on the MotoCoaster thumbnail in the bottom right of the splash page.
  12. I take it you are talking about Thorpe Park? I think you comment is unfounded , personally I've always found Thorpe Park to be one of the best managed & one of the best park for maintaining it's rides wthin the UK. I love Thorpe Park, but honestly, their ride reliability is utterly dreadful. I can't remember the last time I visited the park and at least three major attractions weren't down for the majority of the day. Slammer has been closed more often than it's been open this year. Stealth has questionable reliability, but we'll let them off for that. Colossus has broken down a lot this year, Detonator was down for several days, I visited a few weeks ago and Slammer, Rush, Stealth, Colossus, Tidal Wave and Detonator were down for either much of the day or all day. Tidal Wave opened several weeks after the park (having no lift chain is not a great excuse as far as I'm concerned) and I see Rumba Rapids has been closed for two days now. I cannot remember the last time I visited and didn't encounter a breakdown. If there are less than three major shutdowns (i.e., an hour or more) that's a good day as far as I'm concerned. As I say, love the park, but their maintenance is terrible.
