  1. You also have to keep in mind Mantis only ran 2 trains compared to the park's other coasters that run three. Combine that with the slow loading process of the stand up coasters and that gives you a decent line. While I'm sure it will attract a line like all of the majors at CP, that third train is gonna help a lot.
  2. On the park's Instagram account, they state the ride will be located next to El Toro. If Rolling Thunder's old queue is still there, I think it's safe to say it will be the queue for El Diablo.
  3. This park is definitely shaping up quite nicely with a great ride line-up. I'm hoping that the area by the Sky Ride station farthest from the entrance will get more development by it soon, it seems to have been all by itself since the park opened.
  4. I have mixed feelings about this. Mantis was my first stand-up coaster. While it certainly wasn't the best ride in the world, it wasn't the absolute worst either. Maybe I have better thoughts of it because I rode it when it was new, before the trim on the first drop was added, etc. I might be crazy, but I feel like if you get one of those rare rides with the trim off, it seems to run much smoother (or maybe I just got a train with new wheels on it). While it'll be strange to me to not have Mantis there anymore (in its current state at least), I'm excited to see what CP is gonna do with the ride.
  5. I have to say this ride looks amazing, and while the length was shortened, it sill looks like it will be an awesome ride. Those Goliath train dispatches are pretty hilarious though Has it ever dispatched this efficiently?
  6. Glad the shuttle loop is sticking around, at least for the time being. Hopefully it gains some popularity.
  7. Just heard there was a 6.1 magnitude earthquake only a few miles away from the park. Hope the park survived it ok.
  8. I live about 45 minutes from the park. I'd be happy to bring TPR some updates as much as I can
  9. I could definitely see Centurion being a proposed name for what became Fury325 as its very similar to a certain wing coaster in Sandusky. Maybe if there is a redo to the Valleyfair entrance with a new coaster, the park could pick it up like how Kings Island got Banshee from the Cedar Fair name vault.
  10. I must say this is definitely the announcement I've been looking forward to most. Only been to the park one time back when it was still a Paramount park, but thought it was a nice place. Already planning out my trip next year!
  11. Nothing but the best from one of the friendliest parks on the planet! Did they get the friendliest park award from the Six Flags New England Only survey?
  12. ^My only concern with the Intamin winged seats would be clearance issues during the twists up and dow the tower, the train already gets pretty close to some of those supports.
  13. My guess is also new trains, but not lap bar trains, ones with the vest restraints similar to I305 to help with the head banging. With the vests, I could see them turning the trains around for a season...Kingda Ka: Reverse Blast along with Namtab.
  14. Looks like they will be announcing their 2014 addition on August 28th as well. "We're making a big announcement and promise it will be amazing" definitely catches my interest.
  15. I thought the turn was modified because of guests complaining the ride was too intense? IMO the park and Cedar Fair got exactly what they asked Intamin for: an intense and intimidating one-of-a-kind attraction. While there were issues with the wheels, I thought they solved that by having water sprayed on the wheels while the train was in the station? In any event, I'm excited for this Carowinds announcement!
  16. You would think they would want to announce before anything definitive began, like how Holiday World announced before the track began arriving. I think this project wins worst kept secret of the past few years. Hopefully they have something up their sleeves seeing as how the park's PR team has been talking about it
  17. I think if Vekoma had actually gotten down the reclining of the seats on the lift and raising them back to the seated position like they were trying to do with X-Flight at SFWoA, they would have had the edge as it would have prevented riders from being in an uncomfortable position, either facing the sun or hanging on the restraints. It most likely would have helped capacity too, as the trains could just dispatch the station instead of going through the lengthy recline/raise process.
  18. ^I think the poster meant if CP wanted to reclaim the most coasters title, 4 would have to be built next year. Can't wait to see what CP has planned
  19. ^I've never had a visit where Nitro wasn't running. It's a very reliable ride so I don't think you should have anything to worry about.
