It's the trough for the cable lift, not a trim. -
People seem to blame I305. Intamin built what CF wanted. Not the other way around Obviously I305 was not what caused the end of Cedar Fair and Intamin. How soon we forget all the issues TTD had, and still has. Cedar Fair knew when building I305 that there would be issues. I'm about 100% Cedar Fair is not done with Intamin... just because they are building more B&Ms right now doesn't mean anything. Maybe B&M is just what they are looking for right now. Intamin will be back. It's just a matter of time.

Speaking of the rides breaking down when we were at the park this summer it was a clear day. Not windy... not a cloud in the sky. Really warm, low 90's, and during our visit Gatekeeper, MF, TTD, Raptor, Maverick, Rougarou, Iron Dragon, Wicked Twister, Gemini, Mean Streak, Magnum, MaXair, Skyhawk, Shoot The Rapids, and Power Tower all at some point during the 8 hour VIP Tour broke down. Thankfully we had our VIP Tour guide who had a radio and knew when the rides were down to keep us from walking across the park to ride something only to get to the ride and find out it was down. With that being said everyone loves to compare how much certain rides at Cedar Point break down... but what everyone LOVES to forget/ignore is that the rides are run hard. They are going non-stop all day, everyday (aside from the off season.) They are machines. They are going to break down. Things happen. Every park, and every ride experiences down time. Sure some coasters more than others, but the point is they all break down. No coaster company is perfect, and no computer system is perfect. -
Maybe B&M's, and RMC's just happen to be the "things to get" in the roller coaster industry right now. Most major projects lately seem to have come from those two companies. Maybe because parks/chains have learned how reliable B&M coasters are, and that's what they are wanting right now. Maybe the parks are looking for high capacity, reliable rides. . . Not to mention right now the craze seems to be taking an old outdated wooden roller coaster and making it a new scream machine. Which is where RMC comes into play! I don't know... maybe this is just me... But I feel like the people in charge of putting new roller coasters in parks know what they are doing, and maybe they know why they are building the coasters they are building. Maybe they are wanting really re-rideable, enjoyable, RELIABLE coasters... so that's what they are building. None of us know what is coming in 2017. Who knows, maybe the US will get 5 new Intamin roller coasters in 2017. But we don't know that yet.

As amazing as everything else looks on this coaster... I'll find it in my heart to forgive them for this not being a carving! -

I really enjoyed the front seat rides we had on Gatekeeper. It was a unique feeling with there being nothing in front of you, below, you, or above you. It was one of the most "free" feeling coasters I have been on. We never got around to riding in the back so I can not speak for the back of the train, but for us the front is where it is at! -

THIS. Just... this. Seriously. I couldn't have said it better myself. Gatekeeper does NOT suck. If you want a super forceful ride go next door and ride Raptor. If you want a semi-forceful, very enjoyable, very re-rideable ride... then ride Gatekeeper. -

I'm just guessing here. But I bet it is just going to be the typical two across with 2 rows per car kind of train... Like Maverick, i305, Kingda Ka... ect. Most likely themed to a Ferrari. I could be wrong. But I don't think we will being seeing the winged trains on this coaster. -

I'm not reading to much into it. I am just trying to figure out what it could be. I know there is a lot that goes into building a coaster, and large holes in the ground are nothing out of the normal... I'm just curious as to what it could be, and was trying to figure it out!
