Yes they do. And you can walk around with it. I would suggest going to the General Store near the campground. You can buy large cans of beer for cheaper than in the park. The only downfall is that it is kind of out of the way of everything. Many stands in park sell beer though, just higher priced, and there are a few sit down bars. If you need a bit of a boost in the morning, there's a Tim Horton's right near the park entrance with normal store pricing last time I checked.

^^Not sure if you're too pressed for time, but the Moose would be an awesome addition to your ongoing TR (which is the best thing on the planet btw). I would say in the flat department, Silver Bullet and Corn Popper are unique. Silver Bullet is more forceful than the typical Huss or Schwarzkopf model. You could hit the Giant Wheel too if it isn't mobbed. For Predator, my tip is definitely use the Mean Streak trick in the front. I personally prefer the back for more intensity, but be warned, this may be one of the roughest rides you will ever go on, and there's nothing to prevent the pain in the back.

For me, it only works if I click on the link, which of course takes me off-site. This is all I see on the player: I am running a custom built computer, but my OS is Windows 10, and the browser is Microsoft Edge.

I usually take for granted that Tim Hortons is as common as McDonalds in the Buffalo area, but everything they make is pretty amazing. I love having one right on the corner of my street. Darien Lake added one a few years ago with regular prices, which is also amazing. Too bad more people couldn't experience the brand.

You actually may be onto something... Jester would fit perfectly into the new Mardi Gras area, and the park used to have an Enterprise called SkyEscaper. Anything would beat last year's addition I guess. Too bad the park couldn't save the HF Enterprise. Out of them, Huss, and Schwarzkopf, I think that their model is the best. I'm glad the only one left in the world is at my home park, Darien Lake.

To be fair, Kings Dominion never used the words "in-house". The exact phrase was, "Sometimes with an older wooden coaster like Hurler you need to give it that extra maintenance. So we are going to give it that maintenance it needs this season and plan to reopen it next year." Many people took the word "we" as meaning that the park themselves were doing the rehab, when in reality it was a general statement as in the park was closing Hurler for the year so it could be fixed up. -

I really liked this report. I have to do another NE trip, but I'm waiting to see if SFNE's horrible policies will ever be changed. I'm not going back to that hell hole until they ease up on the assigned seating and fix the general operations. Little things like that are enough to ruin my day. I would have definitely reported that ride op on Cyclone. You were following exactly what you were told to do, and that gave her no right to become ballistic and show such poor customer service. I always forget what a nice little park Canobie Lake is. I'll definitely have to consider it on my next trip. Untamed seems like a fun little ride. -

I'm not getting my hopes up either. I haven't expected an RMC from this park since the beginning. I would be ecstatic to find out that they were going through with it though. Right now my expectation is a GCI retrack, Millennium Flyers, and a rename to Splinterhawk. -
^I know that all of the park's shows, advertisements, park maps, and logos are done by Dan Monroe (The Marshall) and his company. So I am assuming that if the shootout is leaving, so will all other aspects of his production. Apex may have their own graphics and advertising company lined up already to save on funds. But as you've said, if the shootout is leaving so will many customers. I know of many older people who just visit the park for the train, shootout, and a few other rides. It's a relaxing day out for them. The log flume was really a mistake on the park's part. Yes it was old, but that shouldn't be an excuse considering some of the oldest flumes in the world are still operating, and on a much larger scale. It wouldn't have been hard to replace some wooden beams. The controls were already updated at some point after moving to the park from Florida. The ride was never down whenever I visited, and never really screamed "maintenance nightmare" to me.

I definitely have been ragging on FI for a while now, but I think it's been for good reason. I don't know what the hell happened, but they have really gone downhill over the past few years. This park went from a 2-3 time a year visit for me to a 0-1 time visit. Of course I'm older now, and their ride selection is family geared, but I cannot even see sometime soon if I have a family taking them to FI over Darien Lake. I get that money will be a big issue for a lot of families, but if Apex ends up going through with parking and ticket increases, many families will be peeved off. FI has been known for years for being budget friendly across the board in food, tickets, etc. I think a lot of families who buy passes will consider paying a little more to make the jump to Darien Lake. They are far better even in the family department IMO, and have more for everyone. Things at Martin's though have really gotten to the point where they needed a major shakeup in management. The operations have become molasses slow. Their crews make Darien Lake's look like they are training for Rio. I used to be able to marathon Comet, but now I get to hear operators' personal problems and go through that god awful restraint process. Not only that, but so many rides have been removed that I considered great for rides that only can last a few years or are typical carny models. I mean who removes a working log flume for a compact thrill ride, that only lasts a year, and then removes the broken ferris wheel right next door? At this point, I personally would pay a bit more to get in if it meant Apex was looking at adding a smaller scale thrill coaster such as Impulse or Steel Hawg, and improving general operations and aesthetics. I just cannot see them getting away with jacking the price if they cannot fix things up. If what the previous poster stated was true, they won't get away with trying to remove the shootout. Albeit being a little corny now, it's still a tradition for the park. It would be like Disney getting rid of nightly fireworks. I would much rather see them remove the knock off Star Wars pirate show that actually takes up valuable room, and nobody ever seems to watch.

While the "friends that work at x park" rumors only turn out to be true 5% of the time, if that's the case, DL better think about adding SOMETHING in the coaster department soon. Not that Fantasy Island would ever come close to competing with them, but Fantasy Island really is a small park, and if they can add something, DL can too. A lot of people (especially in the family demographic) would probably consider buying passes there instead, or taking a vacation to another park altogether.

Of course nothing has been confirmed yet, but it seems like whatever is happening to Mean Streak will be pushed back to 2018. A Soak City expansion is really needed, but I don't see myself returning to it unless they include it in park admission. It's really gonna suck having to wait another year to find out what will happen to MS. -
As soon as the rope drops, hit Ride of Steel, and the rides along its midway first. You shouldn't have a problem getting all those in unless there is a mechanical problem. As one user mentioned above me, the water park will be mobbed. If possible, make sure to get there right at opening so you can get some quick rides on Brain Drain, Big Kahuna, and Swirl City before the line packs in. The water rides in the park will be quiet at this time as well.

It seems like every time I see a TR about Knoebels, I see something else that I never knew was there before. I had always assumed that Cosmotron was a laser tag building Cool to see that they have Fascination too. I never played it until this season and I became a semi-god at it on Darien Lake's version. Can't wait to see more!

^That sounds like PR talk to me. Even if Tidal Wave is on the chopping block, a park employee would not be able to reveal that unless management gave the ok. I do think it is a good possibility that the ride leaves though. It wasn't too long back that SFNE removed Shipwreck Falls for Goliath, a compact coaster relatively the amount of size a Free Spin is.

Pretty soon there's gonna be more closed rides laying around the park in storage than actual operating rides I'm really just hoping for some attention in the dry park again for next year. One flat, another RoS train, and a little paint would totally satisfy me. Hopefully they can get Twister going again too if that's the plan.

To me, there are just other worries right now. Just look at the pics from a couple of pages back of Viper's station. The paint is peeling, wood is rotting away, and the shingles look ready to slide off the roof. I would much rather see rehab money go into that than shortening the queue for convenience. Like I said, with over 30 years of operation I haven't heard one complaint about the length of the line. Not trying to be a stickler here, that's just my opinion. I would be all for a queue re-route if it meant opening up some space for a larger scale ride. That mini golf course is taking up a good chunk of room. Maybe they could break up the old pathway in a way that Viper's "old entrance" would be the entrance for a new ride where golf was. Then they could use the purple line for a new entrance for Viper, and still be able to reuse Ranger's pad for something small. Use the leftover money to rehab the queue and station areas, and it's a pretty solid addition to the dry side.

That's the first time I've ever heard anyone complain about Nemesis. It's been consistently ranked higher than 12 every single year on the Mitch poll and most people prefer the old school restraints anyways. It's on my personal wish list too and for good reason. -

That would actually be an awesome idea, but I highly doubt any traditional amusement park is ever adding a Polercoaster. They are hugely expensive, and are meant for cities to have a tourist attraction. Maybe a company like Intamin could innovate a park model Polercoaster to break records, but I believe the Orlando one alone is costing hundreds of millions.
