  1. I totally agree. I was very suprised at how much I liked the place. Going back to St. Louis next month and hope it works out that I can get the 3 new credits since I was there.
  2. You know I think I've seen some B&M's where they don't have the little rubber tube running from the drain but Afterburn I know they do.
  3. I know I'd be down about missing the RMC credits, but looks like you are having fun anway. Have a safe and fun trip!
  4. Yep I can see Windseeker out our office window. If/Once something starts happening I'll be stalking the park a lot. It will be like 2009 all over again. I just hope I'm not unemployed again and have a reason to go out and take pictures of dirt all the time.
  5. ^^ That would be pretty big if they are going to start moving stuff around this soon. Of course with Intimidator they started work in 2008 when they shut down the log flume. So this could bode well for a coaster in 2015.
  6. Is the Skydiver still there? It was right at the front of the park. I visited in 2006 for a quick trip up from Charlotte. I liked the old place, Big Dipper is a fun little woodie.
  7. Looking at the markers, there's nothing that jumps out at me. I was looking at old pictures of the park the other day and ran across pictures that showed the original car entrance was actually under the bridge that you walk over coming in the North Gate. Now that's way too small now to fit traffic through, but they may be going to do a whole new entrance and redo the parking lots. If it was a coaster, there would be more uniform markings like there were for Intimidator. Plus there would be a ton of work already underway if it were that.
  8. Exactly. That's what they did last year putting up markers in front of Intimidator saying stuff like "Huss GF", etc.
  9. Amazing looking park! Great trip report.
  10. Obviously this means they are building a giga next year!
  11. Yeah I love DDD as well. It's easily my favorite Gerstlauer, but I've only been on 2 Eurofighters, the other being Mystery Mine.
  12. Amazing pics! I so want to ride some of these rides and coasters!
  13. Well he needs to give up the details on what this new coaster will be!
  14. Hmmm... we'll see. That ride hasn't operated since 2005, and Greezed Lightnin' looked terrible so I can't imagine this coaster being any better. I hope they can bring it back, but we'll see.
  15. So sad. I got to ride it at SFKK and SFOG. I understand how it goes though. The first ones came out in 1977, that's 36 years ago and the fact that any of them are still operating just shows how smart Mr. Schwarzopf really was. The one from my home park Carowinds is still running down in South Africa. This now leaves Monetzooma the only Schwarzkopf shuttle loop left in America.
  16. Well you should be thankful you're not at SFA. They got 1 coaster since 2000. Your park got 4.
  17. It always had the OTSR's. I rode it the week before the "stripper" started working, it was on the ride but hadn't been tested yet and then I rode it again last year and I honestly can't tell a big difference at all. If anything I grayed a little on the new turn and I didn't gray at all with the old turn. Weird I know. i305 is my favorite Intamin, just too much for my old body to handle over and over. But I usually ride it about 3 times when I'm at the park.
  18. As my top 5 steel are all B&M hypers, you can probably guess what I go for. I want a ride that is fast, full of airtime and surprises. I also want a smooth ride, or if it's not smooth something that doesn't hurt me if I ride it again. i305 is down to #6 on my list and my favorite Intamin, but it's far too intense to ever marathon or even ride 2 times in a row which makes a difference to me. As far as wood, I'm kind of the same way, air time first, smooth ride after that and intense after that. As such Voyage is #1 and Thunderhead #2 for me.
  19. Great pics, and I love the cute little trains. I'd love to have one of those at Carowinds one day.
  20. Except in his case the rides were all closed! Yeah, that makes SFOG's opening weekend operations look amazing. At least SFOG will have everything open, although usually with only 1 train.
  21. I hear more and more how much operations sucks at Magic Mountain. It sucks when the park almost demands you get a Flash Pass if you want to ride anything.
  22. Some people also count relocated coasters as new credits if they rode it in both (all) places. In that case I'd have about 2 or 3 more credits, but I don't count it that way. The first ride in the first park is all I count.
  23. I see nothing wrong here. *goes back to playing with coat hangers*
