Thanks! Six Flags charges so many fees though it doesn't even help to buy online. I'll just stop by the BK near the park and hope they have the coupons.

It's funny they use the English flag on the sign but the Union Jack on the ride. The Union Jack wasn't even used until 1801. Yes I am a geek. Correction: I see there was a version of the Union flag around at the time of the Mayflower. My bad.

Looks like all is in place for me to get an afternoon at the park on the 15th. Becasuse flights can go weird and whatnot, I'm going to get my ticket at the park. Are there any local coupons I could pick up?

Anybody want the Carowinds' Windseeker?

Just found out my scheduled for 9/15... I'll get in the afternoon at SFStl looks like. Anyone want to pick me up at the airport? lol

Glad to see the park is finally getting some love. 2 coasters in 3 years, even used is still a great thing. I never understood why Six Flags ignored the park for the most part, being in such a huge market.

Maybe because they are no specifics about what is happening at Carowinds. What exactly is happening in 2014? From the looks of it they are going to redo the front of the park/parking lot from all the markings all over the place. I doubt anything big for 2014.

I'm kind of curious why 2 kiddies rides at Cedar Point make the front page and not $50 million at Carowinds.

SFOG shuts down during rain too. Carowinds will usually take Intimidator down to 2 trains, but operates most everything in the rain unless there is lightning. I saw them operating Windseeker a while ago in pretty steady rain.

^ I don't agree. A boomerang is a new addition to the park, and the GP don't care that it's used. When Carowinds added Head Spin as Carolina Cobra, there were a lot of GP that were very excited about it.

Just now getting a shuttle loop. Course Carowinds had one, so that was my first.

I wonder if that price tag includes the removal of Son of Beast, because it doesn't seem likely that an invert would be more expensive than a hyper.

I was at the park Saturday and Windseeker was running with riders.

While all that is true, my experience with SFSt was that the employees were nicer, the operations was WAY better and that goes a long way in my book. While the coasters there maybe aren't quite as stellar as SFOG, operations goes a long way in my book. The wooden coasters are a whole heck of a lot better than SFOG, that's for sure!

Not sure why anyone would dislike the park, I really enjoyed it. It's pretty much neck and neck for me with SFOG. SFGadv being my #1.
