  1. I rode it last time, I went backwards on it then, I don't see the point of counting it as a new credit. But to each his own.
  2. American Thunder is one of the top coasters at SFSTL and is the best wood coaster there IMO. Yeah, a 20+ year old coaster recently refurbished should not be having this many problems. When Carolina Cobra opened at Carowinds, the catch car hit the back of the train when the train was returning and they had problems with it on media day. So it happens I guess. What they had to do was stop the catch car from decending until the train had already returned. Seems to work fine now. I'm looking forward to me first visit to St. Louis in September since 2006. Got 3 new credits to get now.
  3. Awesome seeing the Carowinds pic all the way over in Japan!
  4. ^That's an amazing pic of Afterburn! Love that color. Sundays normally aren't very busy. The worst wait will be Nighthawk, hit it first. Honestly after that most rides will be in the 10-15 minute wait time. Have fun! Also you can get free cups of water at any food stand/restaurant. You'll need this to stay hydrated in our lovely heat.
  5. Gary your pyramid climb reminds me of my visit to Chichen Itza. Scared me to death how steep it was. Plus we only had one rope to help us up and down. I can attest to Mexican Coke being better. Every now and then I'll pick up a Mexican Coke at Walmart. How safe did you feel in Mexico City? I hear so much from the media hear about how dangerous it is. I never felt in danger in Mexico, but we were only in Merida and Cancun.
  6. I seem to kill off a lot of coasters/parks. Alabama Adventure Mavel Mania Rampage Zoomerang Carowinds Super Saturator White Lightning BGW Drachenfire Big Bad Wolf BGT Python Cedar Point Wildcat Disaster Transport Freestyle Music Park All 5 Geauga Lake All 8 Jeepers Concord Mills Phyton Pit (relocated) Kings Dominion Hypersonic Kings Island Scooby's Ghoster Coaster Son of Beast Myrtle Beach Grand Prix Crazy Mouse Wacky Worm Myrtle Beach Pavilion Hurricane Corkscrew Little Eagle Mad Mouse Opryland Chaos Wabash Cannonball Little Rock N Roller Coaster Kentucky Kingdom Chang Road Runner Express SFOG Deja Vu Z Force Viper Wet N Wild Emerald Point Hyder Fighter 2
  7. http://park.adlabsimagica.com/attraction/asiana/deep-space I take offense on behalf of all ACErs.
  8. In line for Face/Off (now Invertigo): Lady looks at coaster and says to friend: I think they are running two trains today.
  9. Carowinds offers about 14 credits depending on how you count Thunder Road and if you can get the small kiddie coaster (must have a child to ride). It's a nice park overall, Intimidator and Afterburn are outstanding, and the rest of the coasters are pretty standard fare. I'd also recommend taking the light rail downtown, there's plenty of good restaurants, (I recommend Mert'swhich is good soul food), museums, places to see and overall Charlotte has a very walkable and clean downtown. Visit http://www.ridetransit.org light rail info, but you could catch it at I-485 and South Blvd, and ride it all the way in to downtown. It's a good way to see part of the city, and enjoy downtown. Plus South End has a lot of cool places too.
  10. ^ The lawyers probably won't allow one in America. The people that can't make a catch car work half the time on their boomerangs, makes this thing work? I would be scared to death.
  11. I agree it looks a lot better for the western theme, but then they should rename it to something along those lines. Hangman is available. *cries over Opryland again*
  12. As freaky as it is to ride Acrophobia and it only tilts out a little, I can't imagine this.
  13. I'm surprised to hear that they managed to get it smoother. Maybe there are some tricks still they can pull with the old boomers. I thought after Carolina Cobra and Hershey's got the new trains it would be a hot new thing for parks to purchase, but seems not. I don't hate boomers, I actually like Cobra, and the former Zoomerang. Although the old Hershey trains weren't fun at all.
  14. For those that remember Dani Swords that used to be the PR director and was there one year when TPR came to town, she is now Dani Swords King and the King BMX show is her husbands team, so if you want to stalk Dani again this is your chance. lol
  15. Hope you had a good time, I know it can be very crowded, especially big weekends like Memorial Day.
