  1. I'm going to be visiting the park tomorrow afternoon and Saturday morning (from the UK). Might be nice to have some company if anyone else was thinking of going.
  2. Alton towers coasters do have single rider lines remember and the wait is usually much less. Also be sure to pick up 2 for 1 vouchers which seem to be on any kellogs product at the moment
  3. when I was there the frisbee was closed.... I'm starting to wonder if this park has some serious reliability issues! I rather enjoyed the mine train though, had quite a fun layout. To add to the flat ride collection there's also a HUSS condor which I hadnt seen outside of RCT3 until then and a disk'o.
  4. yeah, when I rode tarantula last year I was impressed. Tornado was sadly down when I went though. It's a fun little park and you get a great view at the top of their skyscreamer of madrid.
  5. stunt fall was great last year, also superman is the best floorless coaster I've been on coaster express...... i'm not even sure RMC could fix it.....
  6. for anyone interested you can get the original RCT DELUXE EDITION FOR 90P HERE http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DD-RCTD/rollercoaster-tycoon-deluxe
  7. I rode goudurix yesterday.. and it really wasn't that bad! It was my first time riding it so I guess the retracking last year made a difference. It was no rougher than other vekoma corkscrews etc like python and had quite a fun layout
  8. I'm going to be visiting in may, whats the best deal around for tickets?
  9. visiting this on the 19th, can't wait! not been on a mega lite yet but I plan on visiting piraten later this year could this break in to the top 10?
  10. my top 10 - 1) Intimidator 305 - King's Dominion (USA) 2) Expedition Geforce - Holiday Park (germany) 3) Skyrush - Hersheypark (USA) 4) Shambhala - Portaventura (spain/catalunya) 5) Blue Fire - Europa Park (Germany) 6) Maverick - Cedar Point (USA) 7) Kingda Ka - 6 Flags Great Adventure (USA) 8) Leviathan - Canada's Wonderland (Canada) 9) Behemoth - Canadas Wonderland (canada) 10) Magnum XL-200 - Cedar Point (USA)
  11. i've only ever visited portaventura in the last 2 xmas seasons (fantastic for lack of queues and a hot contortionist in the shows) but baco has always been rough. its almost funny to exit the ride then see the video of an empty rear seat trying to shake itself to pieces.... Shambala on the other hand has always delivered awesomeness. It has a purity to the airtime that is lacking on most other B&M hypers. I rode Nitro and apollo's chariot in October, but the airtime just felt weak on both of them. Behemoth and leviathan almost managed to deliver the same thrills however, and silver star was also pretty good but the floatyness euphoria of shambala beats them all
  12. really? I was literally seeing stars when I rode baco anywhere near the back, at the front it's fun but elsewhere I'm thankfull to escape without an intra-cerebral haemorrhage.... dont get me wrong I love geforce and i305 is my #1 but baco is just painful! I'm still struggling to place it for my mitch hawker ballot as the front us fun but the rear is horrendous
  13. Europa park's blue fire, silver star and wodan make a great combo portaventura also has shambala, dragon khan and (the front inside seat of) furios baco (any other seat is awful)
  14. can anyone clarify - What's the current state of play regarding NTG and the flashpass? I'm also going to be visiting the first weekend in may (on Friday all day and Saturday morning)
  15. turns out they're partnering with dignatas of Switzerland to build the euthanasia coaster http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euthanasia_Coaster
  16. What's the current state of play regarding NTG and the flashpass? I'm also going to be visiting the first weekend in may (on Friday all day and Saturday morning)
  17. is mystery tower launched? to me it just seemed like it had a fast winch rather than a launch
  18. blackpool will still run most rides even in pretty bad weather too, i doubt anything would stop the best ride (wooden wild mouse) from running
  19. I'd recommend using redspottedhanky.com to book your train tickets, you can get them posted to you or use the fast ticket machines in most stations ( get a code emailed to you, put the code in the machine with your credit card and it will print out the tickets. For longer trips with changes sometimes you do need multiple tickets but the correct ones will be printed out or posted to you. You can buy tickets on the train but its usually much cheaper to buy in advance Trains in the uk aren't as good as some European countries but if you miss a transfer because its late you should be able to get on the next train without any problems. The schedule otherwise should be ok, where are you visiting from by the way?
  20. this does look awesome, is there anything nearish nigoland worth visiting too? I feel a weekend trip coming on....
  21. I wonder if "the tallest vertical accelerator in Europe" is more a licencing thing with intamin. 2016 is still quite a long way away and another park could quite possibly build something taller, maybe even a polercoaster in Europe. Maybe PA has an agreement with intamin that would forbid them from making a taller launch coaster in Europe until after 2016 (but not in the states or japan etc). It could still be taller than Kingda Ka, but they couldn't announce the tallest in the world only for something else to be announced later this year at another park so it has its thunder stolen when 2016 rolls around. If it has an agreement with intamin then "the tallest vertical accelerator in Europe" is something they can state confidently and if it turns out to be the tallest in the world at that time too then all the better!
  22. just throwing out some more wild speculation, the race track appears to have sets of 2 cars racing each other, maybe it'll be like the pixar cars ride or even a drifting coaster... would certainly fit the Ferrari theme, although the cars appear to be f1 style
  23. Didnt notice how it looks in the 2nd pic, in the 1st it almost looked as if they were bubbles/capsules
  24. "vertical accelerator" seems an odd name for marketing, why not just call it Europe's tallest and fastest roller coaster? the drop tower looks interesting but I wonder if it may be an observation tower as the park already has hurakan condor so doest really need another drop tower. Either way it looks great and if I'm still in Europe in 2016 will definitely make a fun visit.
