  1. Surely Alpina Blitz at nigloland should be on the list? MACK's mega-lite "tribute". This year I rode it and my first mega-lite (piraten) and I have to say I think I prefer the MACK version. The seats are far more comfortable, the airtime just as extreme, plus the 2nd hill has this fantastic transition of floater into ejector air in the same hill. After Alpina Blitz I got off with a huge smile on my face and instantly went for a re-ride. Piraten was really good but left me slightly underwhelmed after Alpina Blitz. The only other new coaster I rode this year so far has been Flug Der Daemon, which feels like they forgot to tick the "low friction" box in RCT3, It's a fun ride once it warms up but I rode first thing in the morning and the train barely made it through the course which really killed the pacing. The first airtime hill is pretty sweet though and I do like how the ride is themed and fits in to the surroundings. at the end of this month/start of next however I will be getting to ride Goliath so hopefully that will be good
  2. Thanks for the tips, was wondering whether front or back was best?. I'm going on a friday so I think the park opens round about 5pm and is open late for a few night rides.
  3. I should be going for the first time on the 24th, any tips for the park? wheres the best seat on BD?
  4. yup! K1ngdaKa88 has it, BPB's fantastic wooden wild mouse
  5. it was drawn with a finger on a touchscreen, no correct guesses yet!
  6. A bit badly drawn but the gist is there
  7. wouldn't surprise me if flying fish got an angry birds retheme
  8. Thanks for the advice! If they're you're home parks I'd be more than happy to meet up at one or more of them. Lake compuce will be on Fri 24th, SFNE Sat 25th and SFGadv on the 26th. It's a bit crazy with Travel but sadly the parks are only open at weekends, but they are all decorated in Halloween stuff which makes them even more interesting. This packs in the most coastering possible in the time I have off work. I fly to Chicago on the 30th and have an evening at SFGAm (It's randomly open on a thursday so allows a bonus day) Drive to Cedar point for Friday evening, do Saturday at Cedar point, stay somewhere midway between the 2 on sat night and have a 2nd day at SFGAm on Sunday. The last leg is going to be a bit killer but I'm an A&E Doctor so used to working long sleep deprived antisocial hours!
  9. I'm organising a halloween time trip to Lake Compuce, SFNE, SFGAdv then flying to Chicago for SFGAm and a trip across to Cedar Point. Booking various things at the moment and I'm wodering if anyone could sugguest somewhere to stay between SFNE and SFGAdv. I'll be visiting SFNE on a saturday when it closes at 23.00 and SFGAdv opens at 1100 the next day. After leaving SFNE I don't mid driving for a couple of hours in the right direction, but I'm not sure where the best place to stop and sleep would be, Avoiding New York traffic for the trip to SFGAdv the next morning would be preferrable too.
  10. the first coaster building module is out now
  11. any tips on how to watch this in the uk? my usual sources seem to be lacking
  12. still hoping for anger birds: catapult - the world's first wooden launch coaster
  13. skyrider was my first stand up coaster.... and I didn't think it was that bad! standing airtime was a rather unique feeling. my personal worst is coaster express at parque warner followed by a standard boomerang with old styletrains and restraints
  14. be aware though if you're staying in the wild west hotel then you enter the park in a different lace, near the entrance to stampida rather than baco
  15. last time i visited adding a fastpass to the hotel booking wasnt that expensive and allows rides at the front of each coaster (though I think the passes are one ride only). Furious Baco really needs to be ridden at the front as anywhere else is pain.
  16. I'm just hoping its a plan for a new coaster - angry birds: catapult - the worlds first launched wooden coaster, could fit the theme quite nicely
  17. The spanish superman is my fav floorless coaster and I've been on a few - sfmm, sfGAdv, Dorney, KD, none of them have the pops of airtime and such a huge difference riding front vs back. It also has my all time favourite zero-g roll which actually feels like zero-g. also I share the hate for coaster express (did they rename it western express?)
  18. any guesses as to what crowds will be like tomorrow? I was thinking of getting a gold flashpass if its busy. Is it cheaper to get the pass in advance online or is it the same price if you buy it on the day at the park?
  19. I was planning on visiting on the 10th also but never got an email (I'm visiting from the UK and have an annual pass from a visit last year to sfga. I can't find any info on the website regarding this music in the park event, am I missing something? was already planning on getting a platinum flash pass as It's the end of my trip.
  20. me too, fancy getting a beer in the new sports bar?
