  1. How is Fright Fest at SFMM? I never hear a lot about it.
  2. ^ It is a very nice park as it is now, but none the less it needs some kind of expansion. Something completely new, and the all to often mentioned signature steel coaster. I do have high hopes for all of this. Granted this is more of a five year (I so hope not ten year) plan.
  3. from user Lowkae. Somebody said (obviously sarcastically) that they can't wait that until this happens to Magnum. My response - that would make me a saaaaad panda. Ahhh... brings me back to the days I worked on a manual Blue Streak. The bell would ring and the train had to go, "one way or another." It was like a circus sometimes .... "MY SEAT BELT - MY SEAT BELT" some would yell as the train was rolling out of the station; sometimes with us riding the running boards to fasten seat belts (and then jump off at the base of the lift). People were "tougher" back then, and less complain-y about being rushed... there were no queue gates in the park, and people were generally better behaved, and took more responsibility for themselves. It was in the "transition years" where doing old school stuff (like riding the running boards to cram down bars or fasten seatbelts - AND - announcing "the seat belts are optional, you do not have to use them") was slowly becoming a no-no and stricter operational rules started applying. Operational "grey areas" eventually became black and white/yes and no. I'm grateful to have experienced that, good times. In the following years, people started complaining about seat belts and being rushed... goodbye manual operation Seems crazy to think that you weren't required to wear a seatbelt on the coasters, if that happened these days, all hell would break loose. Right! It would hit national news and then the GP would post comments to videos on Youtube saying "The Roller Coaster made him take it off! That orange haired witness on crack said so! Tear it down! Its not safe!". Lol! Its so sad that that is not far fetched!
  4. ^ Oh Lord! Lol! Granted, I am hoping the Action Zone does get a re-theme to a dark/creepy area. We have Banshee, Flight Deck could become Bat, Drop Zone could be renamed and repainted as well as Congo Falls and Delirium. I'm just not creative enough to throw out some ideas for those names lol! But I do love the idea. Someone else mentioned it several pages back and thats what got me thinking about it as well. We shall see I guess.
  5. Of course I dont know for sure, but I wont be surprised if Wilderness Theater is removed, in fact I think it is highly likely.
  6. I'm pretty sure he is referencing The Ninja, or even possibly Tidal Wave, because Tidal Wave was going to be the ride removed for Boomerang but they opted for the Bumper Cars instead. He capitalized "Wave" which is a super obvious hint that Tidal Wave is leaving soon for future expansion. Oh my goodness I didnt even catch that until you pointed it out! I just made my opinion based on the fact that it had already almost left, and the fact that it is the last ride you reach before you come to the unused/boneyard/haunted hayride/ part of the park. I personally dont want Tidal Wave to leave, and it is not necessary to remove it for the expansion either. Those who have visited the park will know what I'm talking about. Ample room over there! Removels are not necessary. Check google maps (or mapquest) and you will see exacty what I mean. For those of you not familiar with the layout of SFStL, Tidal Wave is at the Northeast corner of the park.
  7. Fingers crossed for a coaster, at least by 2015
  8. I thought the same thing, and I thought a GCI would be perfect for that particular plot!
  9. I guess I'm part of the apparently small group of enthusiasts that feel wooden coasters are supposed to be rough, and I like it that way. Also, I'm going to go all fan boy on you for a minute...I do not want RMC anywhere near The Voyage! This is one coaster I DO NOT want converted! Thats my piece.
  10. It was probably turned down because SFDK is not as busy of a park, so why put out more money for something that is rarely needed? SFGAm on the other hand would necessitate the dual loading station, so yes if this is the style of coaster they are getting, I doubt that the offer for a dual station would be turned down.
  11. I've loved every Batman clone I've ever rode. I'd love for Banshee to have those forces! Everytime my home park's Batman (SFStL) coaster pulls into the breaks my jaw is open and I'm just staring at my friends in amazement, and I've been riding that coaster for 12 years.
  12. I'm pretty sure he is referencing The Ninja, or even possibly Tidal Wave, because Tidal Wave was going to be the ride removed for Boomerang but they opted for the Bumper Cars instead.
  13. We had just gotten off of Green Lantern and the group I was with was ready for some water on their hot bodies...so first I said Tidal Wave only gets you wet (read: soaked) if you get on the bridge rather than actually riding it. The group decided they just wanted to be teased, but also ride something, so I suggested Jet Stream. Then we just kept going in that direction, passing the closed Apocalypse, going to Tatsu, and X2...by the time we finished X2 it was 8:10 pm, roller coaster riding was closed for the rest of the night. I miss the days when MM would close at 11 pm or 12 midnight. Ok I see. I agree about the hours as well. I've wished that for my home park too (SFStL). 9 or 10 pm is just too early in my opinion, especially for trying to get night rides!
  14. Since KI is bringing back the B&M Invert, perhaps VF could get one of their own in the near future? I've always thought a B&M Invert would be the perfect addition to VF. Granted, I've been thinking this since Patriot came to WOF, which was back in 2006. But still there could be a chance.
  15. The most recent addition to Boomerang Bay was in 2007, being the Great Barrier Reef wave pool. I would love to see a few new slides in Boomerang Bay. I love what they have but I feel like they don't have enough. My Boomerang Bay visits often consist of a quick pop in and say hi to the original slides. I typically hit up Boomerang Bay as I make my loop around the park and have it 'done' within the hour. I would say it is definitely time for some new additions then. I hope it is likely.
  16. I dont know why, but on my computer none of the live cams are visible for any of the CF parks/websites. Its quite frustrating.
  17. I went in early August 2012, and I completely agree with you. In fact, I dont remember a single part of the ride that was unnecessarily rough until dipping into the tunnel next to the station and then the spaghetti bowl. So to me, the majority of the ride is world class and I cant wait to ride it again.
  18. When was the last addition to the water park? Could we see a new water slide for 2014? Of course simply speculation at this point.
  19. How long has Intimidator 305 been down? I've been hearing about it, but never did hear when it happened.
  20. I hope the coaster isnt identical to YOLOcoaster. I feel like that addition was so half assed. I'd hate to see it repeated. Especially in a far superior park (IMO). I'm fine with a launched coaster, and a worldest tallest loop, but after that I'd like it to be unique to the park, and certainly not such a sudden ending like YOLOcoaster. Heres hoping....
  21. I'm surprised no one has posted construction pics in a while. Is there anything new going on on the site yet? I expected some vertical construction by now....
  22. ^ Glad you had a good time. The wait times you listed actually dont sound horrible. Just curious, why did you skip RR and Superman?
  23. Yes, and I'd say the next coaster that would be removed (which is not techniquely necessary) will be Vortex. I understand it is popular with the GP (and I myself enjoy it as well) but now that Banshee will be coming along that will give KI more leeway in a decision to replace it. Now, I don't expect it to be going anytime soon, I just think it will be the next coaster removed.
