  1. BTW doesn't mean anything but they did have lights in the Gotham area for fright fest. They were not on so may not be Christmas colored lights but they where LED Christmas style lights on some of the concession stands. They also had some trees wrapped beside batman it looked like but that could be for viewing from the parking lot Again, not sure I'd the lights are for holiday in the park but they had started decorating other areas with lights as well so I assumed the lights in Gotham are Christmas but they might not be
  2. Got it, that's the page I went to but it looked just like their fright fest and had the Christmas themed areas and mentioned what rides in those areas are opened which looked like most. During fright fest, a lot more is open than they post so I still wouldn't take that page for 100% truth But like I said it doesn't mention anything about areas they don't have themed so they might be keeping Gotham closed. Either way though your post had me worried but my most visited areas are open so I'll still be happy. If mind bender is open, that's just a plus!! Haha
  3. BTW where did u find a ride list? The one I found on their site has a few rides but also says "more to come" Most rides in the sections of the park it mentions will be open. By sections I mean it mentioned Christmas themed areas and it looks like all rides in those areas are open... It doesn't mention anything about Gotham or the superman area but it also doesn't say rides in those areas are closed? They just don't have a Christmas theme? Or haven't announced a Christmas theme yet Do they have another ride list somewhere I would assume all batman, Superman, and scream machine will be open but who knows! Lol
  4. I plan on going to holiday at the park but if many rides actually end up not being open, probably won't be back next year lol.
  5. And don't they have a few weekends in between in which they will be open as well? I thought I saw that on the calendar. A few weekend special event days between now and then. Might be a good time to also ride after dark due to the time change. I know they will not be open as late but it'll also get dark earlier
  6. Sfog is open after Halloween due to their Christmas event this year. They have a few things in Nov leading into it. Not sure what days they are actually open though so check the schedule! I think your normally right and they are closed the weekend after Halloween until the next season
  7. Sfog used to be really bad but they have greatly improved. I haven't experienced ride ops like that in a while at sfog but that used to be the norm there!! Hopefully it won't go back to that
  8. I went both days Sunday was walk on for most of everything until about 2:30 when I left. I always like hitting right after opening on Sunday BC of the lines being very low. I was able to ride superman 5 or 6 times without getting off. Same for a few other rides. Not sure how it gets later on Sunday though. I do know Saturday is very very crowded
  9. Visited the park this weekend for fright fest! Great fun like always Enjoyed the new haunted houses. All rides where great. Purchased a gold flash pass to ride rides in the dark. Had a lot of fun like always I also want to say thanks to Dale, the park president, who responses personally to an email about a defective T-shirt that I didn't see a problem with until I got home. Sending a replacement to me! Who says six flags doesn't have good customer service Great time at the park! Anyone who is planning a trip six flags was very very busy at night just like last year. Need a flash pass if you plan on doing night time coasters and a fee haunted houses.! The haunted houses are getting much bigger and better than the past.. The new zx1 or whatever was very enjoyable
  10. I would guess mid March. They always open either the week before Dollywood or the week after and Dollywood always opens mid march. Keep in mind sfog is only open on Saturday and Sunday's usually until around memorial day. If you want a weekday trip search for the Atlanta school schedule. Typically sfog is open all week during the Atlanta area spring break. Usually late March or very early April.
  11. I think with carowinds new coaster in 2015 and Dollywood rumored to have a new coaster in 2016 six flags will want one to. Dollywood has already said their 2016 ride will cost around 20million (they actually said around the same price as wild eagle which was 20mil). Most people think a ride of that cost is a coaster and a big one at that. All three of these parks are in competition even if it doesn't look like it. All three are in serious multimillion dollar upgrades right now as we speak. Im excited to see what 2016 has for six flags!
  12. I am glad I went to hurricane harbor during the sneak preview weekend BC all other times it has been so crowded I haven't even wanted to go in!! Its a very very popular area and I remember on sneak preview weekend, leaving the park with a towel (that I purchased in the park BTW BC they had told me hh was closed) people kept asking me if there was a pool in the park as I was leaving. It seemed to excite everyone! I think it was a great addition and I wish other parks (hint hint Dollywood) would include the water park in the price of admission
  13. Agree on the lazy river. Love relaxing in them at parks to cool off!!!
  14. I was thinking that BC this summer their big concerts have been in the picnic area which isnt ideal for that. They do need a concert arena if they want to continue having bigger acts
  15. Teaser video has no information at all unless those blueprints are "real" If so, they look like they are for a building of some kind. Could be a rectangular pool as well so might be a slide splashdown. But! Could be a station!! Very similar to Dollywood teaser last year when they announced a resort. They showed blueprints. Hotels aren't six flags thing though so probably not it.
  16. ∆∆∆ I don't think the mindbender thing happens everytime anymore BC I have seen the train stopped on the reduction brakes and they never called maintenance to get it working again BUT the bug you speak of is still there. I was actually on it once when they had to call maintenance to get it going again. This was this season. They had to pull one train all the way into the garage, get the other one in the station and then get the other train out again! Took nearly 40 minutes
  17. I have been there plenty of times during late summer on Saturday. Very very crowded on Saturdays. If u stay late though, the lines will die down. I always go to superman first, if you get there at opening you will wait 15 mins max for superman. If you wait a hour or so to ride it you will end up waiting in line that long for it. Haha
  18. Luckily this weekend everything was walk on no problems with crowding at all! I know when they open though it'll be bad. Wave pool did get crowded some but not bad. I even ate in hurricane harbor to avoid food lines around the park
  19. Haha heck everyone wears capes already so a domo suit would stand out! But wearable lol
  20. No seatbelts on either of those coasters haha. And yes super 8 is fine for my needs as well. Its called the austell six flags super 8. Clean and quite but definitely not fancy or anything. Does have a clean pool though
  21. 1. They did say Multi-Year, Multi Million expansion 2. I doubt they would close White Water, But maybe sell it back to Herschend (Google if you have no idea what I'm talking about) after the park is properly sized. It'll be a while before they get it to size unless they build several more slide structures and a lazy river or something in the next few years. And they could sell it to Herschend but I think they are really trying to compete with Herschend right now with Dollywoods big expansions so I wouldn't think they would bring the competition closer. I could be wrong about that but if I were six flags I wouldn't bring Herschend any closer especially since Dollywood is planning $300 million over the next 10 years and besides the resort no one knows what else on. And if it goes well they said they will spend even more over the next 10 years and they have said it will be spent on both splash country and Dollywood. They specifically mentioned spent on big rides at both parks. Not just small filler rides. I'd be scared of Herschend personally if I where them. Most Dollywood guest are only 2 or so hours from Atlanta. I'm 2:30 or 3 depending on traffic and a little over an hour from Dollywood. Personally I'd rather go to Six flags than Dollywood now. I really see no need to bring Herschend closer unless they rlly want to dump the park
  22. If you want to stay right around six flags there are several places. There is a Wingate right beside the parking lot. It usually cost the most out of all the hotels around but is the nicest. I personally stay at the super 8. Nothing fancy about it, its old, but its quite and clean. It is also within walking distance but I have parking passes. You can get a room online for about $52 a night with codes. This weekend, that's what mine cost. If you booked in the hotel though they where charging $75/room. I have stayed there 3 times and its been quite and clean all times. Just a place to sleep just book online. There is also an econolodge (pretty bad I have tried it once) and I believe a sleep inn right beside the park with the super 8 and Wingate. Never tried the sleep inn BC I haven't ran into any problems with the super 8 yet. I stayed at the Wingate with friends and it is the closest and nicest but close to $100/night last time I checked. Still nothing fancy! I have found that in the evening the park is dead. I usually do a Friday or Saturday evening, one full day, and a morning. Sundays are usually the least crowded. Don't buy a flash pass until you see what the lines are like. If you read up about my trip this weekend I never waited more than 10 minutes for anything except to get into the park!! Haha
  23. OK time for a trip review. Spent Saturday, Sunday, and two hours at the park today! First, hurricane harbor. While not officially open (even the signs in the park said closed, coming soon) was open mainly for testing and training purposes it felt like. They had the skull island complex open and the bonzai pipelines section open along with the wave pool. No lines at all on the bonzai pipelines. Walk straight to the top and come down. All three slides are different while one has a funnel in it. The other two are just normal slides, one tubed all the way down and the other with a small open section. They require tubes on the slides but are free (they do have rentals). Had plenty of free double tubes but only 10 or so singles for free so on a busy day plan to ride double or rent. Overall all three slides where great! The wavepool is very nice! Again they have free tubes in it or you can rent one if they are gone. The wave pool has a safety check every hour or so where they close it for 10 minutes. Kind of annoying but this might be a new thing at water parks? Idk when I was training guards for Ellis Guards it wasn't anything we taught or did. Water was kind of cold so they had to just fill the pools last week. I think it was filled like first week in may but it felt like last week haha! As for the other slide that wasn't open idk if it'll be ready next week or not. Slides ready but they have no pavement to it or around it. For those who said they might close whitewater, I doubt it. Hurricane harbor is small compared to a stand alone water park like white water or splash country or any of them. Once you see it, there is no comparing it to bigger parks. I spent 2 hours in hurricane harbor both Sunday and today. Two hours is about all you can do before getting bored. BTW they have very very nice changing rooms with showers! After I found out it was open on Saturday my gf and I scoped it out and we brought a bag and changed after. Took it back to the car afterwards. OK as for six flags I rlly don't see why everyone says they aren't friendly. Both last year and this year I can say they are much friendlier than Dollywood. Every employee in the park says hello and ask if your having fun. Even security! They are very observant and notice things your wearing and comment about it. I had a dollywood shirt on today and every employee i passed said they wanted to go badly. The park was clean and all the rides running. Saturday I didn't arrive until 5 but we never waited more than five minutes for any coaster. We where able to ride most of them multiple times. Even rode mind bender 10 times without moving seats or getting off. Only reason we had to stop was the train broke down and they couldn't get it out of the station. Finally maintenance came and had to get it off the track. Sunday the park was dead like most Sundays. Rode all rides several times no more than 10 minute waits. Spent two hours in hurricane harbor. Today we decided to go back and do two more hours in hurricane harbor before coming home. Didn't ride any rides today just slides and wave pool. Overall great trip and hurricane harbor is great to just relax and cool off. Maybe next weekend they will officially open it. Like I said this weekend they kept it kind of quiet about it being open. They really wanted to kind of test it out. Lots of managers walking around asking questions and trying to see how they could be better when they open it up.
  24. Just got back from a great weekend and they did open half of hurricane harbor. I'll post about it all once my gf gets off my back about unpacking wet clothes lol
