Along with a signature Steel, the park needs a Face Lift. Imagine if Busch Gardens would take over ownership and gave the park a huge injection of capital improvements. I'd guarantee you'd see that sustainability you are searching for. -

Yes, I do agree with Location Location Location. It would be an interesting experiment though... wish somehow we could test our theories. Any other STL folks like to chime in on this one? -

For some reason I doubt that remark. SFSTL seems to be forgotten in the chain. They get thrown the scraps as the other chains get the Lion's share of the goods. If could flip flop the Parks, SFSTL and KI, then I bet you would see STL natives flock to the park, and Memphis peeps for that matter - as most probably haven't gone in years because it offers nothing new and exciting since The Boss was installed - maybe even Freeze or maybe even Batman. American Thunder is an awesome coaster, btw... but it doesn't have the hype as a massive Steel B&M or the like. -

There was an on-going argument a while back... which should come first Attendance or Big Capital improvement ?? in regards to our 40 plus year old park, my vote goes to Capital Improvement. I argued this a few times but I am not sure I convinced anyone. SFSTL needs to break itself from the tired old mold it has been in since the 90's. It has got to reinvent itself otherwise it will continue just exist as the mediocre park it is been for the last two decades. -

Layout is good but the turnaround in the Front goes right over the entrance line into HH. I can't see any coaster running there. But all the space in the Fields and Woods to the East are all open game. Something like Raging Bull would work great in that space. Once they remove the Ninja.... -

Amen to that. Ninja's shelf-life is way over overdue. Yank it, scrap it, melt it down ..and then put in this 'Signature' ride. They don't need to bother using Ninja's space, a real signature ride wouldn't fit there anyways. There's lots of land in the northeast section of the park near SkyScreamer that is currently full of storage, FrightFest stuff, and trees, which would work great for a signature ride. That area needs a bit more to complete its revitalization anyways. Totally agree SFStL needs a signature steel though. Freeze is great, but it is a clone after all. My reasoning is this... I can't see SFSTL ever exceeding 9 coasters, it's just not in the cards for our Mid-sized park. I would use Ninja's footprint for a Station and the Lift area then put most of the coaster's elements outside the train tracks, around the graveyard and hurricaine harbor (where most of you all have stated). -

Lots of opinions and general B&M bashing going on here. King's Island will be a better park with Banshee and the newly named Bat. I would love to have it here in STL, along with everyone else who calls SFSTL their home park. Would rather have SOB back ??? -

The Eagle was completely painted a few years ago... around 2008 or 2007 I think. Does it already need to be repainted? -

I think it boils down to Disney has Class, Six Flags does not. -

My hometown park is SFSTL and I haven't been there in several years - been going to King's Island once a summer instead. What bothers me about, at least Six Flags St Louis, is it appears not much thought goes on behind the scenes when it comes to theming (they destroyed that years ago), new attractions, and most of all the lack of a Signature coaster. They seem to throw new rides in whenever they fit and name it some generic Corporate name with no regard to the existing theming the area may have. This year's Tsunami Soaker will be a good example of that. The area where the ride will be located is very Ozark and Back Woods looking (Silver Dollar City type of thing), this new ride looks like it should be on a Beach Boardwalk. Last year's Boomerang is in Old Chicago - The Chicago Loop would have been a better name, instead it is called Boomerang - yawn. ...And what does The Boss have to do with Britian??? you get the idea. Plus they tear out family rides, park Staples (Swings, Bumper Cars) and do not replace them. I understand these ride were old and needed to go but a park without Bumper Cars or Swings is a Burger joint without French Fries. And the Moon Cars is a joke when it was shortened with American Thunder, not worth a 5 minute wait - Embarrassing. Lastly, Missouri's Coaster Capital needs new Steel in a Bad Way. It has been since 1997 since we recieved some awesome Steel - Mr Freeze (I am not counting Boomerang or Pandemonium). It has gotta be something worthwhile, while I don't ever expect something massive like Banshee, a sizable Floorless or similar would be nice. -

It will be a nice addition to the park. Sounds like it will get some good theming too, but it may not fit well with the existing theming around that area. ?? We shall see. -

Okay... there were a lot of attractions installed that year, I assumed it was all from Astroworld. Bad assumption on my part. I think there are pics of the original color schema buried on the interweb somewhere. -

Another fun fact, Thunder River's queue house was an attraction named Tiltmore Hotel. A walkthrough fun house with angled walkways and optical illusions. Like something you would see at Lake of the Ozarks by Bagnell Dam. -

Nothing... before Thunder River there was this Disney Jungle Cruise type ride called Mississippi River Adventure. There were no bridges or walkways for any guest to gain access to that area, until they built Freeze -

I think it is awesome what they are doing with The Bat, but it would be 'icing on the cake' if they added a Tunnel/Bat Cave somewhere on the course ...with cool lighting and some fog. Maybe at during the 360 back to the station. -

So if you were Boss... would you transform the old Mine Train Station back into a Coaster Queue or leave it as is (a haunted House which is only used 4 weeks out of the year) ?? I would transform it back to a Station renew some of the park's nostalgia of yesteryear.
