  1. Who would play games Before and After a ride on the Eagle ??? One trip through a game area is enough. Re-open the queue like it was. It makes no sense.
  2. Do they still route the Entrance and Exit through that games area? That never made sense to me. Then to leave the first Queue Station abandoned, why?? If they were going to remove it for a new Flat or something then I would understand, but I imagine it is still there serving no purpose.
  3. Absolutely! I remember when they used to pump A/C into the queue houses as well. Glad to hear the Eagle is running well.
  4. Say what??? you are getting our Parks crossed
  5. way too soon to make judgement. it is a dark ride, so don't base any opinion on a quick video with the lights on, and still under construction.
  6. Why/how would it fail?? I am sure it will be a huge hit for the regular crowd. I am not convinced, however, if it is really what the park needs. We will see if it boosts attendance, time will tell. What the park needs is to have fewer broken things. Hannibarrels was the huge eyesore, and it's now tremendously improved. This can be nothing but good for them. It should save on maintenance costs vs. Scooby-Doo in addition to fitting the DC Plaza theme and really sealing the immersion there. I vote the park keep up this practice of replacing old, broken rides and at the same time renovating the whole ride area. The park really has improved over the course of the past 10 years, agreed. It will be interesting to see how Holiday World compares with SFSTL this 2015 season ... flashy new coaster vs flashy new dark ride.

  8. It is a load bearing Sign, they can't remove it
  9. Don't Reply all at once! guess they are all over on Holiday World's forum discussing, Well... a coaster
  10. Nice Construction Photo Walkthru over at Negative-G. ...and a little Boss discussion at the end. www.screamscape.com
  11. Do any of you STL Locals have any detail on this new Coaster at Union Station?
  12. If you Build it, they will come. (Think 1976 and the Screamin Eagle) Heck, let's watch and see how Holiday World does in 2015. I guarantee they are going to have a huge attendance increase, and they are in the middle of Nowhere.
  13. If I remember correctly I explained why Boss can't be done on the SFSTL thread but I will explain again. In order for Iron Boss to work it would require the removal of the first half of the ride (from the bottom of the double down to the bottom of the drop out of C-block) because as it sits as a wooden coaster the trains have a hard time making it to C-block and polyurethane wheels on steel track creates more friction meaning Iron Boss wouldn't make it. So then the ride would go straight from the double down to the second turn around (another valley point that would be reprofiled) from there it's a literal uphill battle for the train as it does the bunny hops by the station (the first hill happens to be another valley point) then there is the double up out of the helix (yet another valley point). After removing the valley points you would be left with the worst RMC coaster built. So the park is looking for other options for the ride since a conversion isn't cost effective or worth the money. Would it be possible to just replace the current wooden track with the I-Box Steel Track and new Trains? Keep the layout as is - forgot all the crazy Iron Horse inversions - just a replacement. ??
  14. I was really excited when SFSTL announced we were getting a CCI. The layout looked awesome! I was in awe when I first saw it in person in 2000. I had such high expectations. Then I rode it... bummer. Even the year it opened that thing beat the living hell out of me, such a disappointment.
  15. Rumors are pointing to it being sent to either SFFT or SFGAd next. Anything's possible, though. It would be cool if they did it backwards during Fright Fest so you could ride it in the fog and in the dark. Last time I talked to Dave about namtaB he said that it most likely won't becoming to SFSTL. However things can change, all I can say is wait and see. I don't see why, they did it with Freeze. Not that I am excited about the notion of namtaB but just flip the train around - big whoop. Seems SFSTL translates into 'No, that ain't gonna happen'. I am intrigued by the new dark ride, but in my opinion, it is not what the park needs (Scooby was doing just fine popularitywise). Holiday World will outshine SFSTL in 2015 for sure with Thunderbird. Lose the Ninja and get a modern Steel coaster!
  16. Anyone know SFSTL's attendance for 2014?
  17. Cool relocation of the Sparkler and better theming and name as well! Poor thing will be dwarfed in size by both the Voyage and TBird though
  18. I don't see SFSTL ever expanding over there anyway... sell it.
  19. I was just inquiring the reasons why... what's the harm in that??
  20. Then I guess new Trains and Topper Track would be the best option, which is what Screamscape is saying in there latest submission.
  21. Question: when they say RMC treatment will shorten the Boss' layout, is that due to a limited Funds or the Terrain or Footprint (or both) on which the coaster is built?
  22. Are you sure??? Did you forget about Boomerang???
