  1. I grew up with SFSTL. Rode the Screamin Eagle in 76 when it opened, Injun Joe's Cave, Tiltmore Hotel, Jet Scream, and the Moon Cars when it was an actual attraction ... and so on. I even rode the Rail Blazer in 84. During that time I have seen other parks of similar age grow and expand (KI, SFGA, etc), while our park was always sorta late to the party. Until Batman and Freeze came along, the Screamin' Eagle was the main draw (for 20 years!!!). Our family got passes starting in the early 2000's and had them for about 5 or 6 years. Then we started taking road trips (as my kids got older) and we decided other parks within a days drive had more to offer (mainly KI) so we decided to do a Road Trip ever year instead of passes.
  2. I was going reply with generally the same message. When the park warrants the price of admission I will go back too. I was a season pass holder for about 6 years until the family decided a single weekend road trip to another park was more fun. Locally this year we did HW ... and Busch Gardens Tampa while we were in Florida.
  3. I don't think bumper cars would be a good idea as we just removed them this year. They were removed last year and I understand - they were old, used and abused (original attraction from '72). However every amusement should have bumper cars. They need to replace them imo. It is a solid family attraction. Bumper Cars are in the "master plan" to return in the future. Unfortunately the older bumper cars were slowly turning into a water ride on certain days. The Boomerang was specifically placed their to keep the bumper cards from becoming another Hannibarrels. The ride had to be closed, so the best way to get money for demolition is if there is something new for that spot. This is the same reason why the Hannibarrels are where they are. Every single year since they closed, demolition of the Hannibarrels was on the park's list of to-do's but never received the funding. That's good to hear! Thanks for the scoop.

  5. All valid points, but I will continue going to Cedar Fair Parks until SFSTL has something that warrants the Price Of Admission and Parking fees. For the record, I did say Six Flags 'Buys in Bulk' but didn't criticize it plus I never have harped on at anytime the subject of Cloned rides. I totally get regional parks and they way to manage them and provide attractions. I just think STL needs/deverses a Signature Steel Coaster, plus some new flats (Bumper Cars specifically). That's about it...
  6. I get what you're saying, but "Time of their lives" in reference to most visitors is kind of a stretch, don't you think??? Maybe time of yor lives was a little over the top, but a good time or enjoyable visit would definitely be in order. I don't understand why some people can't realize this park will never be the star of the chain. We will at best be the 5th or 6th best in the chain. A chain which many don't have warm feelings towards to begin with. Some will never be happy with our park. I don't really want to say like it or leave it, but it is the only thing we have in the Saint Louis metro area. If you don't like our park great, go vist SDC, HW, SFGAM or wherever you want, it is a free country, but why bash a park that local management is trying to do the best they can with what they are given? A lot of folks have been waiting for a decent Signature coaster to arrive at SFSTL for a long, long time. And every year we are disappointed time and time again. ...so it sorta leaves a bad taste in your mouth. And Yes, I for one do go to all the regional parks around St Louis. In fact, for the past 3 or 4 years I have been doing just that. I know SFSTL will never be the Star of the Chain, but when even Holiday World announces a B&M Wing Coaster and our last Coaster install was a used Boomerrang - sorta makes you wanna to pull your hair out. Coaster Capital of Missouri!
  7. Sorry...we already have a used boomerang....lol SFSTL will also throw in an old Arrow Looper called Ninja and an old Antique Car Ride named Moon Cars with a track the size of a large driveway. For all of you having doubts about this Massive, State of the Art coaster... you do not have my sympathies.
  8. Tempted to head to Carowinds next year... never been there and Fury 325 looks awesome!
  9. August 28th is the 2015 Six Flags announcements correct?
  10. He looking for that 200+ lift hill that has yet to grace our Skyline
  11. Its definitely one of those things, like seeing a horror movie in a theater, where you want to go there when it's not busy, since if there's a lot of people, you have to go through it kind of fast. I went to Creepyworld a few years ago and I think that was overhyped. They say theyre 10 in 1 or whatever, but half the stuff really wasnt very big. The thing I hate about Scarefest is, like Six Flags, is they give you online discount codes, but the online fees make them pointless(and the speed pass is unnecessary). Ive been to Darkness like 5 times and only had to wait a long times twice. The last two, we went straight in. I have been to the Darkness twice. What made me laugh afterwards is realizing it is not very Dark at all, and unfortunately not frightening either. Now a positive note though it is a long haunt.
  12. People in the know here have said that the ride system will be replaced. The old boats are too hard/expensive to maintain. Plus the fact they are 40 years old and probably pretty nasty and beat to hell.
  13. That's exactly it, most public schools have A/C now. Still though, summer should be from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
  14. Very true. BGT has a solid coaster lineup, not sure they could put in there that would be unique
  15. I'd like to see a Verbolten type of coaster where Gwazi is now. Launched, Show Bldg, other effects, yada yada.
  16. 9300 is the count since it opened in 1986 ... who knows, might be...
  17. I know it's just a figure of speech, but were you actually born yesterday? The important Word in my comment is IF. So I guess I am not very interested in the new dark ride.
  18. If the Dark Ride is of Disney caliber then I am interested
  19. So the boats are sure to disappear then? Sounds cool. Wonder if the Bldg going to expand as well.
  20. Split it into Regions and re-organize groups of leadership to assess and management Parks within their region. I think Six Flags is too large for one entity (Corporate) to do the job right. The needs and regional cultures of each park are too large and diverse to be handled by one governing body. Create smaller groups of leadership to focus and manage smaller groups of regional parks. Makes sense to me.
  21. I think SF should break up in Regions - West, Central and East. Each region can focus on a smaller amount of parks each with its own needs (SFMM has different needs then SFSTL, etc). Then I believe you may see some positive results.
  22. In the distant near future the high speed rail will be available from STL to Chicago.... which will be rather cool imo. http://www.idothsr.org/
