I think the key phrase here is 'At This Point'. -

The track gets really close to the ground... the coaster looks awesome! -

With no layout changes, as long as the entire coaster got Steel Topper Track and new Trains I'd be happy. The Screamscape rumor said Topper Track on portions of the ride, not sure about that. The layout is good and the coaster has great drops, the Mid Course Brake Run comes a bit too soon imo. -

That stinks.. yet more dissappointing news from our local park for us StL coaster fans. -

Maybe it is just the angle of the picture, but Wow is that drop steep for an Invert! -

I agree. The Darkness is not scary, heck it isn't even all that dark! It is a long walk-thru and has got a lot of cool animatronics, but scary it is not! -

Just showing my age ... I rode the Screamin' Eagle when it opened in '76. I was 9. -

Yep... you are correct. I rode it once or twice when it was a stand-up. It was really a lame idea, very boring. Something was 'fishy' about that accident, not sure if it was completely the coaster's fault. Can't remember all the details but there was some controversy surrounding that. -

I was just having fun... chances are getting any of these coasters are slim to none so it really is a non-issue. -

SFMM has too many, they could give us Scream and no one would notice out there. -

The Bottom Line is STL needs new Steel desperately. It has to be significant, not necessarily a Record Breaker, but something large with a complex layout. Just as simple as that. -

Thunderbird is in Finland. So yeah it is a copy but the likelihood of anyone going to Finland is really really low... as if you were to drive to Chicago to ride a Batman clone. In my opinion American Thunder is unique ... to 99.9% of the folks who will ride it, including myself. Ninja probably has the lowest ridership in the Park, coasterwise, it needs to be replaced. Plus I cannot see SFSTL exceeding 10 coasters. We need a Junior coaster as well. -

The Ninja is stale. It is a first generation looper, by which compared to modern coaster designs is just plain boring. Its shelf-life is way past due. Scrap it! -

Don't get your hopes hope about any significant coaster coming to STL. I have been waiting for the last 10 years, guess a few years after the Boss was built, for something 'Large and made of Steel'' to come our way but finally reconciled to the fact it is just not gonna happen. Especially when I learned Atlanta got our Hyper back in '06 (or whenever that was) ... Anyway I am happy that St Louis is very central which allows great weekend trips to Great America, King's Island, WOF, SDC, and Holiday World. That being said, our park has improved over the past 10 years thanks to all the relocated attractions from Texas, a CGI, and Sky Screamer. The best we can hope for is an RMC makeover of the Boss and possibly another transplanted coaster to replace the Ninja. I would not bet a nickel on any custom designed B&M, Inatim, etc. to grace our park in the near or far future. -

Does anyone know if anything was ever found through security that avoided a disasterious event? just wondering... SFSTL security is very cumbersome and does not give you 'We are Glad you are Here' sorta welcome. It would be a huge improvement if they made it more streamlined and less evasive. just my 2 cents. -

Last time I was there (Sept '12) it was there. I wish they would get rid of the whole mess... seems rather excessive. Niether any Disney Parks (FLA or CA), Busch Gardens or King's Island (destinations I have been to within the last 6 years) have metal detectors. Not sure all that security is necessary for a small park like SFSTL. -

Gotta love that Pea Green El Camino (or whatever it is) in the pic. Pure 70's goodness. Fully equipped with an 8-track player and FM tuner I bet. -

I wonder why they put American Thunder in that location then? Moon Cars could have stayed there (flat with plenty of space) and the coaster elsewhere. -

Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"
SteveStL replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Worst: Adventure Express - a lot of work went into that theming with very, very little return. Best: The Beast ..and yes I have to been to many other parks, not just KI. Just Remembered - Kumba's ending is rather awesome too
