  1. Lakemont Park...went once in 2004 and it was pretty bad, although Skyliner was enjoyable. Leap-the-Dips being closed that day didn't really help matters, either.
  2. As a local, I'm just glad we have an adult steel coaster that isn't Whirlwind.
  3. I'm sure they could find some sort of tax loophole. For example, when Paul Allen bought the Clippers, it was reported a few days later that he could get "goodwill" written off (the difference between what he paid and what the team is actually worth in assets). That was Steve Ballmer. Allen owns the Blazers/Seahawks/Sounders FC.
  4. Pretty much. It cost over $2 billion to build, went into bankruptcy within a year, and was sold for pennies on the dollar. I personally hope they just re-open the casino.
  5. Rode each side once in 2003...Tiger was mediocre, Lion was one of the worst wooden coasters I've ever been on.
  6. Count me in as someone who misses the pre-drops...it really does add to the beginning of the ride (Great Bear is one that immediately comes to mind).
  7. That looks so....not Knoebel's. We're getting a legit steel coaster though so I'll take it.
  8. They're like the LeBron of the amusement park industry.
  9. They appeal to a large portion of the park-going populace and in recent years the increased effort to add embedded water rides (and water parks) within existing dry parks speaks to the demand. While I doubt we'd ever see anything at Knoebels on the scale of what Hersheypark did with the Boardwalk overhaul, I wouldn't be surprised to see a new water coaster or something like it added to the park at some point. While most of us here wouldn't choose a water attraction as our first choice (myself included), we don't represent the majority of the guests who visit these parks, so our point of view has a far more limited influence on things. I understand that Broseidon, all I was saying is that I personally don't like water rides or waterparks.
  10. Which is exactly why I said it'd be a letdown for me personally.
  11. I'd rather another coaster that I can ride that keeps people off of Flying Turns/Twister/Phoenix
  12. Water coaster would be a huge letdown for me personally...can't stand water rides/waterparks.
  13. Does Bloomsburg offer a graphic design major? Maybe Bucknell? I'm pretty sure Bloom does, but don't quote me on that.
  14. Wow! I feel clairvoyant! I totally said that last week! Now hopefully it will happen next year! I've been calling for this since like 2004; needless to say I'll be a little excited if it comes to fruition.
  15. I don't think I'd know what to do with myself if Knoebel's got an RMC, I really don't. Other than on the mountain, I wouldn't mind seeing an out and back that runs along Campground Road...maybe put the station/queue behind Skloosh.
  16. The only other time they've announced a future ride this far in advance that I can remember was Flying Turns. I'd expect a pretty significant addition.
  17. But I would disagree with this: Phoenix says hi. I would marathon that thing if it didn't have constant 10-15 minute queues. Unfortunately I can only do a few laps on coasters before getting sick as well. When I rode Flying Turns I started getting a slight headache after just one ride, and it's far from rough. I remember riding Twister nearly 50 times and Phoenix about 20 on opening day in '03 without any sort of sickness/headache, but those days are long gone.
  18. I still think they need another largeĀ® roller coaster, wood or steel. I've mentioned my desire for a Boulder Dash style ride on the mountain by the Skyway ad nauseum. I get sick from pretty much any ride other than roller coasters, so I'm usually done with the park after an hour or two. Another woodie would help with that big time.
  19. You cut out a pretty decent piece of The Dark Knight's ride building, but I like the idea.
  20. Riding Dragon Coaster and Woodstock Express at Dorney by myself. I was only like 13 at the time, but still pretty bad.
  21. Hoping Led Zeppelin goes to a smaller-ish park that probably wouldn't otherwise get a coaster of that magnitude.
  22. Surprised they let TNA come back. That company is going to either go broke or get bought by Vince McMahon within the next year.
  23. Probably a combination of both.
  24. SkyRush Intimidator 305 El Toro Storm Runner Kingda Ka Top Thrill Dragster In no order.
  25. And people thought Six Flags and Cedar Fair were bad with throwing "world's _______" around.
