1. Yes it and Shredder are both open and, Shellraiser has been open since day one, I really wouldn't consider this a mall considering its like 60 percent entertainment.. Some guy on youtube who posted a bunch of videos from the opening day keeps answering people, that are asking about when the other two coasters are opening, 'NOVEMBER 27', I have no idea if he has involvement in the project or anything just thought it was worth noting
2. Great Movie Ride because nostalgia
3. Great Chase at Six Flags New England?
4. One that comes to mind is Leviathan with Toronto or Fantasy Island with Buffalo and Niagara Falls. I'm curious if anyone is aware if Cleveland, Detroit and Toledo are visible from Top Thrill Dragster, Not looking for coasters/parks pressed up on cities like Elitch Gardens Just learned that you actually can see Philly and New York from Kingda Ka, I always thought this was a myth
5. The title fairy is an old hag
6. I mean everything Triple Five has done so far has emphasized the entertainment aspect, there really hasn't been much official exposure besides news coverage so far, I think Triple Five has made a point of rebranding the project, I mean look at the website right at the top it says it's an all inclusive hub To me the biggest mistake seems to be that they built this in the Meadowlands as all of the Jersey locals seem to be hoping for its demise, ungrateful for the potential this unique attraction brings. people need to appreciate what this project will bring, come Spring I'm sure plenty of tourists will be taking the 12 minute bus ride from the Port Authority, be appreciative for Bergen county finally having a major tourist draw not venue or sports related. If this was in Westchester I would be forever grateful for such an investment in my county
7. Yup lol when I went I didnt even need to complain they just handed it to me as soon as I started talking. Interesting that half-pipe havoc still isnt open, I have a video of it testing on the 1st up on my Yt. Looks like I may have to wait a few more weeks than I thought
8. [fbvideonew][/fbvideonew] I agree with you and that's why I went even when I knew most of the major stuff wouldnt be open but I at least thought shellraiser would be, whatever i can go back for free whenever and at least they're giving rainchecks. I wish they had thought out their first month of operation more
9. Yes I am, but I obviously haven't smoked as much as the people behind the pricing options I mean there is nothing like this in the region I didnt really consider that WEM and MOA were in areas without alot of year round entertainment. The shopping I never really thought anything of but I definitely was expecting more immediate success in the entertainment area. We'll see how the waterpark goes, I could see the waterpark being more successful than the theme park. Also who knows maybe this holiday season the park will succeed, they haven't really done advertising in the area yet maybe when they do it will gain some traction and we'll start seeing lines, it's still only been one week...
10. Your welcome. I really believed this project would be a no brainer, slam dunk success but after today I'm not sure anymore. I really hope they can succeed but hiking up the price by 30 dollars, for weekends, immediately after opening seems insane
11. None of the coasters opened today, seems pretty ridiculous a whole week after they opened they really need to get their act together if they want to be successful in the area The staff was a mixed bag, some very friendly some very cold and even a couple that actively avoided me when I was trying to ask questions, everyone seems to be very confused and there doesn't seem to be good coordination between the entire staff. Also some operators seemed pretty unprepared, weren't reprimanding kids jumping the railings, weren't paying attention to kids who were opening the ride gate and entering unnoticed etc
12. It's been pretty empty I suppose it's a bit more crowded then it was before 4 at the moment, waiting it out bc I was told by a few operators that shredder is going to operate for training for a few hours before the park closes they thought there was a good chance Shellraiser will run for a bit, Today was a bit of a test of the park for me I got a voucher to come back anytime before next October so I'm not to upset
13. Well I'm here right now, just talked to a manager who explained that Shellraiser cant run due to state inspection on Shredder, I have seen zero movement on Slime Streak or Shellraiser. I'm standing at the bottom of the stairs for the Shellraiser queue and nobody is even working on the ride in the station, Smh, gonna wait around for a couple more hours at least to see if anything happens
14. So When exactly is the New York Wheel scheduled to open? I do think it will provide for some pretty amazing views honestly and Im looking forward to it, I definitely need to get out to staten island more, I have been to that borough by far the least and thinking now about it especially since its so far out for me I think ive only been maybe two or three times, I really need to explore Staten Island more and think I will make getting out and exploring staten island a top priority for me
15. Its OK it wasn't rude at all and I totally understand your pet peeve, I don't like people trying to plan my trips or telling me where to go either, Im genuinely sorry for coming off like I was trying to do that and sorry If I was coming off like I was underestimating your knowledge on NYC, you really have a fantastic website here and I truly enjoy all of your content, I understand your pet peeve and respect it, This was a great trip report and I cant wait for your next NYC trip report, Hope you enjoyed the trip and Im looking forward to your future trip reports no matter where! -GreatAdventurer
16. That's all good if you don't want to go outta the way for Jesus lol, just glad you enjoyed NYC and hopefully you got to see everything you wanted to see!
17. Thanks for the report looks like a great park!
18. St patricks is awesome your right you can just drop in and leave and its right in the middle of all the action. St Johns the divine is an absolutely magnificent structure and is actually the 4th largest christian church in the world and is located in one of the best neighborhoods in Manhattan, Morningside Heights which is the area some of you may know as the home of Columbia. Id highly recommend a visit not only to st. johns the divine but also a visit to morningside heights which is a truly awesome and perhaps underrated area of Manhattan. The first time I stepped inside st. johns the divine I was absolutely amazed by how vast the place was, st. patricks is amazing in its own right but st johns is even more vast and breathtaking. Im not even religous I just find cathedrals fascinating, a visit to St. Peter's Basilica is near the top of my bucket list right now (a trip to Tokyo disney, dollywood, europa park, Kennywood, tivoli gardens and liseberg are all very high up there on my bucket list too! ) Luckily ive made it to many great parks though ie. Knoebels, Cedar Point/disneyland, im glad there are many that I still can look forward to visiting one day and many that I look forward to revisiting after many exciting additions in recent years!
19. Well im glad you saw it anyways im quite an atheist myself but I find St. Johns and St. Patricks both very stunning structures but to each their own, glad you enjoyed your visit !
20. Glad you saw st. Patricks its a beautiful landmark of my city although I will say next time you should see st. johns the divine as even if your not a cathedral person its an absolute must see in nyc and one of the most stunning structures in the entire city. Its also never been finished and some call it st johns the unfinished, it is the largest cathedral in the country im almost certain. Did you make it to queens at all this time or upper manhattan like inwood/washington heights, there is also lots to do in harlem, morningside heights etc.? queens is awesome as its such a culturally diverse borough you can get top notch korean, greek, Indian food or Cuban food any day in queens its definitely a culinary hotspot. I love Manhattan but living in Westchester ive also come have a huge appreciation for the Bronx, its quite a unique borough. So lively, so unique, the food, the music in the streets Ive come to greatly appreciate every single borough of NYC (though ill admit ive maybe only been to Staten island 4 times maybe even though ive lived here my entire life lol) NYC is great, all 5 boroughs of NYC are spectacular
21. Nice report! I like the modernization of the resort. Seems like it will now justify the Deluxe prices a bit more!
22. Quite unfortunate for someone to do such a thing in a family environment
