  1. Good, but I've been on three of them so far and none of them really made me want to marathon.
  2. Question: how does the reverse drop work? I imagine that when the train stops near the top of the lift, it is held by a holding brake while the chain with the catch car reverses down the lift to a safe position. Then the holding brake releases and the train drops to a bottom of the lift and was caught by another holding brake. Then the catch car engage with the train again to finish the course.
  3. My favorite is still Outlaw Run, followed by Big Boom, Maverick, Millennium Force and Storm Chaser. Eejanaika, GIB, Parrot coaster and Takabisha also have GREAT drops.
  4. Those pneumatic towers still rely on the cables to somehow connect the cars to the pneumatic system. ARM/Larson towers use large permanent magnets on the cars. So unless something wonky happens to how physics works, they'll always come to a slow crawl before reaching the ground. I know Acrophobia uses magnets as brakes, so I imagine Intamin uses magnets on other drop towers as well. Yes, all Intamin gen 2 and up towers use magnetic brake except for Phantasialand's and the indoors one at Lotte World.
  5. I feel like a Log flumeXXX can have some really nice theming too.
  6. ^Its possible on flyers and 4D/ZacSpin though.
  7. Just read the test run day trip report. Apparently TRON has a very strict loose article policy, everything have to be stored at the locker outside of the station like Mummy.
  8. Disney is probably trying to figure out what the worst situation will be like for the park. The lake area is public and people can get in free of charge. Even though the area has entry control, uneducated and sketchy people would go there to see what a Disney property is like without having to pay for the expensive tickets. Most of the people that would go to a free Disney property without any rides alone with 160,000 other tourists are definitely not the target audience of Shanghai Disneyland. I'm not saying awful behaviors will not exist inside of the park, but it definitely will not be as bad as the public area of the resort. Let's put it this way, if you have a gigantic free Disney park with a beautiful lake, Diseny level theme, imported flowers all over the place that just opened. I'm pretty sure wherever outside of Japan, Singapore and South Korea, such place will attract sketchy people and they will ruin everything. Just imagine this exact same place in Anaheim. After all I'm 99% sure Disney is just using that lake and adjacent land to save land for a future park and further expansions.
  9. Hmm the new Intamin track that appeared on the SkyPlex Poler Coaster video.
  10. ^Storm Chaser is definitely better. While Lightning Run is insane from start to finish, Storm Chaser's first half is like Alan Schilke is trying to test the limit of RMC trains.
  11. Among the 3 Dive Machines I've been on, only the Happy Valley one rattles and that's because you know, Happy Valley. Even though Gatekeeper was rough as hell in opening year, I think Valravn will be a smooth ride.
  12. Lots of photo from the "test day" by DiBao Group. To me the park seems a bit lost on what exactly to do, they want to be a theme park but certain rides are ghetto enough to pull the overall wuality back big time. And they are not naming the rides in a nice way IMO. Still, some of the rides looks really good to me. They said the entrance service is way too slow and the park don't seem to have enough lanes to make the process more efficient. Entrance plaza Drag statue, I kind of like it. The park uniform Front gate Nice bridge Signs! The hang and bang. Eww Golden Horse Spinner Recycled from the old park that was here. Indoors kids section. HUSS! Not as well-themed as the one at Ocean Kingdom Dick race lol Mack Twist 'N Splash Restrooms Haunted house Spinning cup OMG HUSS floorless Top Spin! Giant splash with a water bottle floating Apparently they changed the name Can't wait to ride this thing when I got the $$ INTAMIN INTAMIN INTAMIN! MORE INTAMIN!!! One of the restaurants, food are incredibly cheap at this park. $5 for an entree that kind of cheap Entrance of the GCI woodie.
  13. I kind of like hanging to the side at that final overbanked turn, but I would put two of them back to back if I designed the layout instead of a flat turn at the beginning.
  14. The 24K gold lift motor! I really like the second off-axis airtime hill, feels like a wave turn and Intamin twisted airtime hill combination.
  15. I rode an SLC for three times earlier but this is still the worst thing that happened today.
  16. Great! I was hoping I wouldn't get E. coli on this ride.
  17. Storm Chaser is better than Chipotle, I'm just gonna say that.
  18. I mean... He's basically performing track inspectors' job. If there's a rope to keep me safe I will very happily do it.
  19. ^ B&M rides are definitely not smooth for today's standards. As for Banshee, I feel like the rattle is different from all the other B&M rattles I've experienced. It's more like the Millennium Force rattle or the GCI rattle where the whole train vibrates but it doesn't give you headache.
  20. It's like they have plenty of money and plenty of land, and they have zero idea what to buy or how to make the park look better. While they have a pretty nice collection, this whole place just looks messy.
