Good point. The only thing Premier seems to be doing is building Mummy rides. If I'm correct their recent project was the Mummy in Singapore which is actually a clone of the one in Orlando. So yes, hopefully this means big projects for Premier Rides. Paramounts paid Premier to build both Flight of Fear's and the Italian Job Coasters. Six Flags has both, Joker's Jinx and Poltergeist which are same thing as Flight of Fear. Only difference is, they are out doors. It's very possible that we could see them being enclosed, if our new CEO took a tour of both SFFT and SFA, and looked into a ride renovation. But if he does that, Poltergeist would more alikely get turned into Joker themed coaster and put inside a building. Is the new CEO willing to do that for both of the Premier rides??? Not only that, but Paramounts parks are known for staying open late every day during the summer. For example, Kings Dominion stays open until 10:00 p.m. every night during the summer and then during their Halloween Hunt, they keep the park open until midnight on Saturdays. Fridays they do the same thing but they open much later in the evening. If the parks begin to receive high attendance during season events such as this, will they begin to stay open later? Personally, I'd hate if Poltergeist was enclosed and turned into a Joker themed ride. Also, about the late hours, SFOT stays open until 10 every night during summer, and 11 on Fridays during Fright Fest (AstroWorld stayed open until midnight when it was still around, depends on the park).

The station seems to have been prepped for track, and 2 more rails (one on each side) have been added to the lift. More of the track/structure around the MCBR area has come down as well. In other park news, last week, the park opened a new drink stand, added on-ride photos to Mr. Freeze, brought back the M&M stairs on Titan's exit, and gave Flashback's train a rainbow Stride Gum wrap. This week, Shock Wave received a black/bright green Axe Twist ad wrap on one of its trains.

Went out to the park today to check out the progress, since some of the pictures I've been seeing kinda puzzled me. My questions weren't answered by visiting, but I did take a few pictures of the progress. I didn't take my camera with me, because I rarely take pictures, so all I have are crappy camera phone pictures. Work seems to be progressing on the ride, but there seems to be something missing? Ah, yes, that would be the entire left side of both helices. Completely gone. Looks like they're wiping out track there, too? Yep, clearing out all of the track down in that area. That's all the pictures I managed to get, might go back out tomorrow with my camera to take more pictures.

This isn't just an amusement park ride, it's a mass transit system. They can't just shut it down for a month, as it is the main mode of transport from Magic Kingdom's parking lot to the park. The MAPO override speed limit is fine as-is, IMO. I think the added sensors on the track switch, and maybe a procedural change to implement a mandatory stop at base when coming from Epcot to Express should be sufficient, although they may also implement a "no reversing through switches" policy, too.

Ah, I stand corrected good sir. In that case, I don't know that there's much that could be done to prevent this from an operational standpoint. I'm shocked that they gave permission to do the MAPO override without being more diligent in making sure of the whereabouts of the other train. It wasn't a matter of knowing where the trains were, they knew where they were. The problem was a miscommunication in the location of a switch.

When I went to SFGAdv, the forecast was for light rain pretty much all day. The park opened like normal, and it ended up only really raining for an hour or two, really lightly. The park was dead all day, and the longest wait I had was probably for the front seat on Ka in the (very light) rain, which was extremely uncomfortable. I waited about 40 minutes for that ride because they shut it down for rain while I was in line.

Parents ditched me for lunch today, so I had an extra 30 minutes on my lunch break. Went out to Kemah, nothing had changed, but I took some pictures anyways. Train still stuck on 3rd hill and although I could hear people working, there weren't any visible workers on the track except for the lift. One of the cars of the first failed train had been taken out into the street and the fence was taken down. Didn't bring my camera, so all I have is crappy phone pictures. Arrived in the parking lot to the stalled train sitting in its spot on the 3rd hill. Crappy picture of stalled train from bay side. Product of 2 failed attempts.

I'm probably the only one that thinks of this, but for some reason, this picture made me think of: "Got three in a row, go for one more! Go for it! Connect Four!" -
??? Texas is home to Continental, American, and Southwest, but not Delta. As for me, since I live in Houston, 95% of my flying is through Southwest or Continental because they offer the most flexibility. I've flown Air France, Delta, Northwest (booked through Continental....why they associate themselves with this airline is beyond me), American, and Quantas in the past. I've been flying Continental and Southwest ever since I can remember, though. Any time I wasn't on one of these two was because it wasn't possible to.

I'm rather fond of some of the slides/chutes at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. The following picture is of what is the scariest part of any water ride I've ever been on. It doesn't look like much, but if you've been on it, you know exactly why this is so scary. I'm pretty sure the guy going down backwards is about to slam his head on that bridge. -

Worst Movies You Have Seen
Houston Thrills replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
I guess I'm the only one that is going to admit to this. I saw about 5 minutes of what is truly the most horrible movie ever made. The 5 minutes that I saw will haunt me forever. Horrible....just horrible...I would rather watch Paul Ruben all day than watch this film in its entirety. -
Wasn't planning on posting a picture, but I guess I will... Picture of me at SFFT.... Facebook Picture

Six Flags Over Texas

SFOT is a great park. I've been there pretty much every weekend it's been open since September. I'd suggest getting a Q-bot if it's crowded. My favorite rides att eh park are Freeze, Shock Wave, and Wildcatter. Wildcatter is the only ride in the park that still manages to scare the hell out of me. Shock Wave has serious ejector airtime, and Freeze is just "the coolest coaster on the planet". The paths are confusing if you don't know where you're going, so be prepared for that.
