  1. And the whiny enthusiasts from the CW and KD threads seemed to have made their way to the SFGAdv thread. Seriously guys, you already have El Toro, Kingda Ka, and Nitro, plus plenty of other coasters. This is far different from anything else currently at the park and is way better than what most other parks will be getting this year.
  2. The video looks real to me but that photo doesn't... I don't see why Six Flags would put a sign saying "Total Mayhem 4D Free Fly Coaster" on the ride itself, but I guess it's possible.
  3. The park is slowly renovating/redoing all of the restaurants it seems. It started off with the pizza joint at the front become Macho Nachos, then Villains Cafe became JB Smokehouse, and this year Character Cafe was split into Kicken Chicken and Go Fresh. Hopefully next year we can see something done with the old fried chicken restaurant near Bugs Bunny that hasn't been open in YEARS. I'd love a country type restaurant with turkey, chicken, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and vegetables.
  4. SFSTL's version was less than $10 million according to a poster who is an employee there. I don't know how he knows that but I'll take his word for it.
  5. Yeah the location strikes me as being strange. The Hall of Justice facade will certainly stand out next to the other Southwest Territory buildings.
  6. This looks more like a station to a giga coaster than a Fright Fest set piece.............. In all seriousness, this should be an awesome maze. With a new maze, an actual haunted hayride, and the return of the trolls, this should be even better than previous years. I've heard Camp Killamore will be inside Hurricane Harbor, can you confirm this? Also, is there no terror train this year?! I mean, I haven't ridden it in forever but it always seems to get a huge line which helps keep crowds away from the houses.
  7. I like the DC logo in the center... It actually makes sense now that JLBFM replaced Scooby-Doo. The park has enough shaded areas, and if you needed one while in that plaza there is an air conditioned building as well as a shaded porch.
  8. Or they don't want to say what they're doing for 2017. Yeah, after the answer is revealed it says something like "You didn't think we'd tell you, did you?". I doubt the people who put it together even know what's coming in 2017. I doubt it's anything big since the park's getting a giant dive coaster this year, but who knows.
  9. His complaint about WMG is valid. When it comes to dark rides, whether or not it's at a Cedar Fair park, immersiveness is the most important part. A giant black wall with a visible drop track and a bunch of technology out in the open? Not immersive at all. It looks like a warehouse with a coaster running through it. I mean, for less than what WMG cost, Six Flags got Justice League, which I have ridden and, while I haven't ridden WMG, I'm sure JL blows it out of the water. The queue is immersive enough, the ride looks completed and has a nice balance of physical and digital sets, and it has a nice simulator ending. (BTW, I know most CW visitors will never ride JL, but I just wanted to point out that SF delivered a much better ride than CF did with a smaller budget.) As for the comments about lack of a coaster: Can you CW fanboys just STFU please? Your whining about not getting a new coaster is annoying. Sorry you can't get a mega coaster every year, and like others have mentioned, lots of CF parks need new coasters more than you do. Be happy with your two new flats, which is the next best thing to a coaster. As far as I know, VF, MiA, and DP haven't announced any new rides yet. Be thankful for getting TWO.
  10. I've seen the first 2 episodes, and while it's entertaining, interesting, and very informative, I can't help get over how many repeated shots they use in each segment (the only one that they didn't seem to repeat shots was Steel Dragon 2000, so kudos to you, Robb). I guess sometimes they just can't get that many, but it kind of gets annoying to see the same exact shot of somebody screaming 5+ times in a 5 minute period. Other than that, I do enjoy the show, and there have been some attractions on it I've never even seen before, so that's pretty cool.
  11. I mean, JL does actually have a simulated loop in it...
  12. This is good. Same cycle, different year, something comes and something goes at SFSL. How do you go from hinting at an attraction they'll make the thread explode to hinting at a Larson loop?
  13. I'm guessing 40th Anniversary Celebration for Screamin' Eagle and a new flat ride but hopefully it's even better than that. Maybe a water coaster? That would really help out with lines at Hurricane Harbor and would be way better than any other slide at the park.
  14. Whilst I appreciate your kind words with regards to my home park SFOT, I'm sure better days are ahead for SFSTL. Also, I haven't been on the SFSTL version of JLBFM, but aren't they basically the same? Yeah, they are. Our layout is a bit longer so yes, the fire is a bit further away from the vehicles, however all the other elements are the same. I guess Mad Hatter must've had an unlucky ride on our version, as we have the Lex hologram and a figure in the surprise car.
  15. Ninja at SFSTL. I was never too worried about inversions as a kid, so I kept waiting and waiting to hit that 48" mark.
  16. I'm not talking about the ride itself I'm talking about the vehicles. If they replaced the logs with blue and orange boats, sure it would work. Not sure why we're discussing this. It's not going to happen anyways.
  17. Somebody's been reading the SDCFan forums...
  18. When I said "makes no sense" I meant from the park's economical point of view. A new theme, especially based on a superhero nobody really cares about, is pointless. Not to mention logs and Aquaman don't make any sense from a theme perspective. Does he ride in one in the comic books? I've never read them, but I doubt it.
  19. Because it doesn't make sense to. Nobody really cares about Aquaman (people would still call it "Log Flume" anyways), and AT is pretty separated from the main DC Comics area.
  20. How I feel about EVERY post in this thread so far. Well, except for...
  21. His review isn't too harsh but I have to disagree with some of his complaints. The park's front half has lots of unshaded areas, yes, such as Backlot, DC Comics, and the front plaza. However, I don't think there's anywhere in the park that you can't walk 50 feet and find a shady spot or AC building. The back half of the park is extremely shaded. Then again, he had just come back from SDC and WoF which do have a lot more shade. However, SFSTL still has more shade than most parks, even Cedar Point. I actually have loved every one of my rides on the Boss this year. I have ridden in the back, and yes, the laterals throw you around, but I've been on way worse wooden coasters. I guess it may just be too much for some people, though. Also, he acts as if SFSTL is a neglected park and that corporate should just let the property go. No, we don't get as many coasters as SFMM, but I think we still have a decent lineup, and we've gotten JLBFM, which some people may not care for, but it's still a big investment for the park.
  22. Seriously? The line for JLBFM was never longer than half an hour during my SFOT visit. I've never seen the line for the SFSTL version any less than 1 hour.
  23. "Magicmountainlover" got that pic from Coaster Studios, an account that has no more information about the situation than any other enthusiast out there. He literally just posts rumors and claims them as facts he got from an "insider". People act like he's a Coaster God, when really, he's just a 16 year old dude who likes to act like he's way better than the rest of us just because he has a following of enthusiasts who actually think he has "inside sources". /rant
  24. If this does turn out to be a JLBFM clone, you guys better get ready to have 3-4 hour lines all day long. I mean, at SFSTL, where lines for the coasters rarely go over half an hour, JL constantly has 1-2 hour waits. Then again, maybe you'll get a single rider line with your version... For some reason SFSTL doesn't have one.
